This was a wonderful trip. Sharon springs was exactly what we needed and more. We loved the view, the bowling alley, the kitchen, and there was a ton of space for all of us. We will definitely come back!!!
My friends and family couldnât have felt more at home, and more spoiled by the amazing views, comfy rooms, and immaculate styling of the coolest house weâve ever stayed in. Eve thing about our stay was picture perfect, and the house did all the work! Yvonne was so communicative, helpful, and we really appreciated all the touches!
The beer Barrons house at Clausen Farms met and exceeded our expectations. The home is old 1800âs and if you need new with alot of bling this is not your place The owners have done alot to upgrade and improve the property in all aspects.
The view from the porch was stunning I wish we had the schedule to spend more time just to front porch sit.
The appointments the owners did fresh flowers, fresh fruits and a growler of beer upon arrival was a nice touch.
Could use more lighting for late arrivals and inside but everything was it top notch condition.
This is a very special property.
This home is located in the cute town if Sharon Springs about 30 minutes from Cooperstown. Yvonne is very responsive and has done some nice renovations to this old but super cool historic (and huge) home. She left us fresh fruit in the kitchen and fresh flowers in every room. If youâre ok with an older historic home with its original wooden floors and walls, this place is for you! The bowling alley and ping pong pong room were especially cool! The house is definitely huge - 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms (if I counted correctly) - so itâs a bit creepy (and creaky) if you have a small group like we did. Our biggest complaints would be the lighting and the bugs. The kitchen and family room are especially dark at night. We wanted to cook dinner and play Uno, but we couldnât see well enough. The house is out in the countryside, so bugs are expected, but it would have been nice to be able to open all the windows and doors to allow more airflow, but not all of them had screens or screen doors that fit well enough to keep the bugs out, so we had to keep them closed. It also would have been nice to have access to a few more towels like washcloths and kitchen towels. Some of the rooms donât have access to outlets near the bed, so if you want to plug in your phone or a CPAP machine, you have to stay in certain rooms. Lastly, not all windows have window coverings, so that was something to get used to as well. All-in-all it was a nice stay and Yvonne is a lovely host.
