Peaceful Lakehouse on Ohop

This cozy lakehouse on Ohop lake has private frontage and access to the lake. Come enjoy some fishing, or use one of our kayaks for a relaxing paddle. The lake has both motorized fun from 11am to 3:30pm and outside of these times a slow 8mph for those who want to paddle.

The Buoy Lakehouse has a loft with 2 queen size beds separated by a privacy wall and 1 pull out couch downstairs. This stay will be both peaceful with a little rustic glamping. Enjoy the lake view from the dining table while you eat or better yet outside on the deck. Whether you like to bask in the sun or prefer a little shade, just crank out the awning to provide your preferred amount of sunny rays.

This East facing property has full sun in the summer so come with your swimsuits to play on the foam lily pad, take a dip in the lake or lay out on the dock. In the evening have a fire and roast s’mores or just take in the sounds of frogs and crickets.

Ohop lake is stocked with trout in the Spring, so bring your poles for small/large mouth bass. Other fish found are bluegill, catfish, and crappie.

Mt. Rainier is just an hour away for people wanting to explore the National park. NW trek is just a few minutes away for the family to enjoy. Although surrounded by the beauty of trees and our resident bald eagle family, the town of Eatonville is just 5 minutes away with full service restaurants, coffee stands, a grocery store and movie theater.

In the summer: Water can be limited and/or run out during a drought due to our spring fed water system. Ample back up water is always provided in 7 gallon jugs. Porta-potty available for back up as well. Be kind to our lake, conservation, picking up trash and no dumping in the lake is appreciated by our future generations and the wildlife the lake supports. In the event that you run out of tap water, please use the back up jugs and give us a call, in some cases we can help refill the tank if possible.

Please keep in mind we are not a business entity, we are a family renting our home out part time to help with the cost of maintenance and improvements. You will find personal items throughout the home, condiments, non perishables, you are welcome to any and all. We appreciate your understanding in this.

Fun little place

Real close to the mountain and right next to the lake. Cute and quaint. The owner was very nice and had great communication.

Beautiful Lakefront Escape

The lake and beautiful scenery is really the star here! Property manager was super responsive and helpful. Definitely would recommend!

Perfect location and place!!

We absolutely LOVED our stay here! The beds were so comfortable, the AC kept the whole place cool in the 90+ weather, lots of amenities, several parking spaces, kayaks, the best swim pad for fun, and lots of outdoor seating! The owner was always in communication with me when I asked questions and accommodated our extra guest! Friends stopped by to visit during the day and they loved the place as well! We will for sure be back!

This was heaven! We had the house and all the water equipment (kayaks, SUPs, lilypad, etc.) to use. The house was imacculate and the host was amazing with communication. We will definitely try to book here again.

Heaven on earth

Owners are excellent hosts. Beautiful place to stay with abundance of wildlife right off cabin deck. Sunrises and moon were incredible with large presence of eagles-a sight to remember for life. Great dock and beach to swim from or to relax and watch wildlife from. Kayaks are great for exploring the lake. Sitting around campfire after the day is relaxing. Eatonville has a great small town vibe and is short distance to explore antiques and restaurants are great. Great place to stay. Highly recommended

Ohop - Slice of heaven on earth

My sister and I recently renewed our love for Lake Ohop when we stayed at TT's VRBO. From 1969 to the early 1980's we spent our summers at our Lake Ohop cabin; swimming, tubing, water skiing, hiking up the hill on the east side of the lake to the railroad tracks, and playing for hours in the water. We especially loved the sound of the bullfrogs, watching the dragon flies, observing the crawdads, fishing, and canoeing on the north end of the lake by the sandbar with lots of white and purple Lily Pad flowers and the water bugs that walked on the water. A fond memory is Dad honking the horn when he was almost home for the day, which we could hear across the lake, and then we'd start the BBQ for dinner. TT's VRBO was perfect for us to reconnect with Lake Ohop, including the BBQ! The kayaks were amazing for watching eagles and many species of birds and wildlife. The sunrises were exceptionally beautiful from their dock. It is an oasis that can be enjoyed by all at any age. We highly recommend this location for your next vacation. Truly a place to unwind and enjoy a beautiful setting.

Owner not forthcoming

Numerous issues were not communicated on the listing. Not professionally cleaned. The owner had over half the refrigerator filled with personal food items leaving not much room for ours. No mention of an RV/ boat style toilet on the listing which emitted a sewer gas smell upon flushing. A backup plan for when water runs out, which is not on the property listing, is a Porta Potty located to the left of the front door. This wasn't communicated until the day before I arrived. Signs everywhere communicating limits on water use including under 5 min showers. Neighbors not aware property is being rented and lawn maintenance was attempted during our stay.

I’m sincerely sorry you didnt have a 5 star stay. I know 5 minute showers seems limiting but this is suggested to avoid the rare case of running out of water during a drought. Our natural stream fed water system can run dry in the summer and I remind guests and talk openly for full transparency. In your case, water did not run out and am so glad it went well. Condiments and spices are available for our guests to use freely, and we do like to provide Starbucks coffee for your morning sunrise over the lake. I hope you quickly discovered that there is a full size refrigerator that is completely empty on the patio for your use. We take a lot of pride in keeping up on our home, it is professionally cleaned and maintained, I wish you could have emailed me the details of areas that needed attention, that way I can communicate to the cleaners areas of improvement. Our lawn service company services multiple neighbors on the same day, luckily I’m told they promptly left and came back after you checked out, so you didn’t have any disruption during your stay at all. As you stated, yes we do inform you of our unique toilet, often seen in RVs or boats, again used to conserve water. We just had our septic pumped 2 weeks ago and I want to reassure you that I called a plumber after our cleaning company reported the toilet was clogged. I really wished you would have called me so I could have had this repaired during your stay. Luckily we do have the porta potty as a back up when there’s no water, but in this case too much toilet paper clogged the pipes. I will take your comments under consideration and improve our accommodations, I’m sorry again our cabin was just too rustic for your taste. I do hope in the 3 night stay you enjoyed the lake on some level and did some swimming, kayaking or just enjoyed the beautiful lake view in this beautiful 90 degree weather

The Buoy is a family Lakehouse in the summertime. Although the Summers are magical, the other seasons bring peace, tranquility and time to unwind so we come out to enjoy the fall season as well. We bought this house with the intention of having an endless summer of fun but it has been an escape from the busy day to day stresses and we hope you find the same peace.
