The location on the Lake is fabulous; great for kayaking, paddle-boarding, boating & swimming, with spectacular views. The entry into the water is sandy and easy for young children and older adults. The area near the small island was an enjoyable place for snorkeling with children. The house is spacious with a good layout for large groups; perfect for a multigenerational holiday. The bunk house was a good space for young adults. Issues: (1) The listing notes a fire pit along w/ a photo; however, there is no fire pit and fires are not permitted on the sand (wholly understandable). We purchased firewood and s’more components in advance of our stay. The listing should be updated. (2) Despite photos of a wooden swim raft in the listing, this property does not have a swim raft for use. (3) House rules require perishables be removed upon check-out, but there was a lot of food left in the freezer (popsicles, meat), refrigerator (the entire door was filled with partially used items) and cabinets (open cereal), significantly limiting the available space for use. We had occasion to reach out to Anne via phone & text re: other house issues; she timely responded via text. Other issues: lights on bottom bunks not working; replacing batteries in chirping smoke alarms; unattached smoke alarms throughout the house; two loose dock boards need to be nailed down. Blinds for windows in the main floor & upstairs hall bathrooms & bunkhouse are recommended given the proximity to neighbors.
