Located in the heart of historic downtown Sandwich, Upstairs on Main is the perfect place to stay for a vacation in the quaint seaside town of Sandwich. The one bedroom studio is located on the second floor of a historic building which once was the town post office. It's been newly renovated and is walking distance to several restaurants, shops, historic landmarks and a 2 minute drive to the famous boardwalk beach. The studio has a queen bed, 1 bathroom and full kitchen.
We enjoyed staying at the apartment in the village of Sandwich. It was clean and just as the photographs showed. Thank you for providing a reasonably priced accommodation!
Absolutely loved the decor - Iâve never seen a cuter place. And so convenient to restaurants, shops and the Daniel Webster Inn where we attended a wedding. Appreciated the bench for a suitcase and the seating for TV viewing. We wanted to watch a football game after the wedding and it was quite comfy there.
We stayed for a weekend wedding that was held down the street at the inn. Perfect place for us, so nice to have a kitchen and more room to spread out. Lovely space and beautiful area, we would like to come back for another stay here and see more of Sandwich. I would also like to add that the check in was easy, and the owner was very responsive to our questions. Great experience.
Cara and Lisa were both very welcoming and made sure I knew they were available if I had any questions. The space; jaw dropping. Generous size, with spa like decor. Would highly recommend and would certainly return. Be sure to check out Bethâs Bakery and Cafe just down on Jarves St.
This vacation rental was in the best location in Sandwich. Host was very responsive and readily available in her shop downstairs. The rental was very clean and contained a more than adequate supply of towels for our stay. Very enjoyable week!
Everything about this studio is exactly as shown. Very comfortable, cozy and clean. Decorated with designer flairs and touches. The location is spot on. Surrounded by local shops and restaurants with New England charm. Yet minutes away from all of Sandwich amazing places to visit. We were extremely pleased with our accommodations.
The property is located in a great spot (the center of town) with easy walking distance to shops and amenities. Sandwich is a lovely, quaint town, and nice to walk around. The apartment was clean and comfortable - somewhat outdated. Would have been nice to have a television that works and that has actual cable service. The bathroom was not ideal due to the old shower and a suggestion would be to replace the paper plates and plastic utensils with real dishes.
everything was as described. it was perfectly located in the center of a bunch of shops and restaurants. the space surpassed what the pictures showed and we loved every second of being there. it was SO aesthetically pleasing and the owners clearly took so much pride in the decor/comfort. every single thing from the wash cloths/towels, comforter set, mattress, pillows, couch, rugs, chandeliers, pictures, movies, games, TV and kitchenware enhanced our stay. it smelled and felt so clean and it was so much more enjoyable being here than a hotel. the employees at the bridal shop attached were also so kind and helpful. we would love to stay here in the future. even if i tried, i donât have a single negative thing to stay. i HIGHLY recommend staying here. you wonât be disappointed!
This was our second pleasant stay in this two-unit building. The downstairs unit we stayed in last time was set up as a small one-bedroom, the upstairs unit this time organizes the same footprint as a studio, with a larger kitchen in the space where the other has its bedroom. We preferred the first layout, but this one was fine too. Neither unit is beach-and-recreation oriented in the way other Sandwich places we've rented have been - so no beach towels, beach chairs, outdoor grilling facilities and the like are provided, nor are in-building laundry facilities. But as a base-camp for visiting Sandwich when one either doesn't require those enhancements, or has other avenues to access them (family living in Sandwich, in our case), this place can be perfect. Both units are decorated to a fare-the-well (and may have cornered the market on decorative pillows). And they are generously supplied with high quality amenities (like luxury towels) and cooking supplies. The hosts are solicitous and a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely rent here again.
Cozy studio in a perfect location in Sandwich, Ma. Great communication w/ host, and a wonderful spot from which to do day trips or simply relax, with shops and restaurants nicely within walking distance. Looking forward to returning!
The apartment was so great. It was more space than excepted. The decor so beautiful and comfortable. The area was more than I thought we would see. Cara was extremely nice when meeting her. We would definitely recommend and stay there again.
We loved the Main Street area of Sandwich and the apartment was the perfect location for us. Beautiful, quiet place to stroll around in an idyllic New England setting. Easy travel to our day trips throughout the Cape Cod area.
The space was immaculate. Since staying in August, it was great to have AC in several places, so it was always cool, and you could control the temperature. There was ample towels, and they even provided shampoo and bath products. The kitchen was fully stocked with cutlery, glassware, dishes, pots, pans. There was dishrags and paper towel. There was even plasticware if needed. There were no non-perishables such as salt and pepper or sugar, so make sure if you choose to cook there that you bring your own food prep amenities.
Cara was wonderful and immediately responsive. She got back to me right away when I texted or she would call. I truly appreciated this. She provided very helpful information about the area.
There were two small unexpected happenings that I will mention. I want to emphasize small, because my daughter and I would definitely come back and stay here:
The upstairs space while completely private with a locked door that only we could enter using a private code, shared a space with the actual bridal shop's second floor that was to the left at the top of the stairs. There were no issues, and no one was up there, it was just unexpected when we first arrived. Secondly, on Wednesdays- it's trash collection. They arrive around 6:30 am. It's a bit noisy, and I am a light sleeper, so just an FYI.
I've stayed at a number of VRBO's and this would stay at the top of my list.

This apartment was so cute and very clean. I loved the neighborhood, everyone was so nice and it was very quiet at night. So many restaurants nearby too and cute shops! Would definitely stay again!
This apartment is beyond adorable. My husband and I booked this for an anniversary getaway and couldnât have been happier! The host was super quick to respond to all my questions/messages. We had a little hiccup during the check in process but it was resolved quickly and efficiently. They even sent us to the cute bar next door and paid for our tab while we waited to check in. This apartment is super clean and decorated adorably. Iâve never felt so comfortable and at home at a rental property before. The apartment is located in a quaint, quiet town and is walking distance to a few coffee shops/cafes/restaurants. We had a great experience and canât wait to come back again!
Absolutely charming apartment, would love to have this duo decorate my house! It was perfect for our anniversary getaway - would stay there 100 more times. Walking distance to great restaurants, cafes and little shops. It was the perfect escape - the store below the apartment is adorable also!
