Welcome to Sherbet Lane. Enjoy a whimsical & fun mermaid experience at this centrally-located cottage, a half-mile from the beach. Our cottage was recently updated & themed for a unique experience. Including satin mermaid robes for all genders. We offer iced cold water, hot coffee plus a light breakfast which includes waffles or oatmeal. Our keyless entry and brightly lit patio provides safety when coming in after dark. Full laundry services. A charcoal BBQ is available outside for grilling.
Our yard is a shared space with our vacation rental next door. Please be courteous to each other. We do offer bike rentals. We have two bikes for the entire property. First come, first serve basis.

Girls Getaway

Orlando and Kally have made all the details for these cottages super cute! My friend and I loved staying here. It's the perfect size for two people, and not too far from The Strand shopping and the beach. We had a great time!

Small but functional

The home was small but functional. The beds did not seem to be queen size but the headboards were. The cleaning crew was still working when we arrived and asked us to give them additional time to finish. The neighborhood was questionable, lots of foot traffic, men sitting on the corner with loud music and drinking. As single women we would not stay here again, it did not feel safe.

Very cute property. Everything in the listing was correct. Very clean and decor was cute. Super easy to get around Galveston by walking. The area the house is located in is kind of a mix. It is ok during the day but at night I would recommend that you are home before dark. I would book stay here again.

We fell in love with this little house. It is designed absolutely beautifully and every want you could have has been thought of. We are already planning to stay here on our future trips to Galveston, and recommending this house and its wonderful hosts to our friends and family. Zero complaints!

Wonderful cottage!

My husband and I came to town for Dickens on the Strand. The cottage was absolutely perfect! It was within walking distance of the Strand, restaurants and breweries. We will definitely be back!

Adorable Cottage, Great location

My friend and I had a girl's weekend. We truly enjoyed this little cottage. It was small and perfect for us. It was very clean and comfortable. Very good location as far as restaurants and entertainment. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic!!!

This was a fantastic stay. We enjoyed this cottage before boarding a Royal Caribbean cruise. This was perfect for our short stay and we really enjoyed the outside space. We were 4 adults, it was a little tight, but the cottage was clean and quaint and, given the adfordable price, was perfect for us. Thank you for sharing with us.

Nice Little House

This house was great. Very clean and the location gives you easy access to whatever you want to do in Galveston. However, there is limited parking just on the street in front of the house. The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy but the house suited the purpose of our trip well at a reasonable price.

Area was a little loud, but the property was wonderful. The home was clean with lots of amenities. My only complaint was that there was a limit of one load of laundry a day as the washer was tiny. Coming off a cruise I specifically looked for a property with laundry. I took my own soap but they do provide that too (I am allergic to some soaps so took what I use). Walmart offered deliver to this property so I didn't have to shop for groceries which was a plus!

Wonderful Family Stay in Galveston

Close to Children’s Museum, restaurants, and both the Strand and the beach! The house itself was very clean. The beds were comfortable—we all slept soundly. The kitchen worked well for cooking breakfast. We liked the decorative touches and that there were books and games for the kids! We appreciate how the host accommodated us upon arrival. Thanks!

Cute little house

My wife and I walked in and loved it the second our eyes met the indoors. It smelled super fresh and relaxing. Everything was organized and perfect for our stay. Wonderful showerhead to wash off the day and comfortable beds with soft and fresh sheets. My wife and I definitely recommend staying here. We met our host Orlando and he was very very informational and nice to communicate with. Kally & Orlando are very nice and professional and my wife and I would love to stay here again.

For the price it gets 5 stars

What we liked about this place: central location in Galveston for what we needed. Walking distance to children’s museum. Very short drive to sea wall but not walkable. Very short drive to nice restaurants in historic downtown area. Place was clean. Lots of thick bath towels. Smart tv that had Netflix easily available. Queen beds that were nice and firm. And quite cost-effective for a quick trip. What we didn’t like so much: it is a pretty small house. Be aware of that. For 2 adults and 2 kids it was a nice 3-night stay but any longer stay, or more than 2 adults then it would’ve started to feel cramped. The “kitchen” is more like a kitchenette. Very little counter space. No dishwasher. The fridge is undersized. So if you like to bring lots of your own food and cook for yourself at your VRBO then you may run out of places to put your cold stuff and cooking is tight with limited space. Neighborhood: old Galveston is what it is. It’s a lower income street and area. I felt perfectly fine during the day but I didn’t want to be outside after dark. A previous review that said it’s a “great neighborhood” is a little out of their mind. Beachside Village where the houses are 3 stories and $600 per night is a “great neighborhood”. Summary: for the price point it was good and there were pros and cons. If I had paid 50% more then I’d have given a lower star rating.

The Whimsical Mermaid is perfect for a fun staycation, the weekend cruiser, a birthday celebration, the annual girls trip, or that romantic getaway! We know your stay in Galveston will be a sweet adventure. Hopefully, you'll find our home relaxing and stress free. We have stocked our kitchen full of coffee, tea and water. Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our neighborhood is a multi-cultural neighborhood, centrally locally in Galveston. Because it's centrally located, you will sometime hear the sounds of sirens. In addition, our neighbors across the way enjoy the island vibe which includes listening to music and hosting small gatherings. They typically turn their music down by 9:00pm. When you're inside the home, you can barely hear the music. If you are sensitive to sounds, our property may not be the best option. If you enjoy experiencing liveliness and ethic diversity, then our property is perfect. .
