Nautical decor and a sun-soaked deck set this home apart as a lovely spot to relax. Take in a partial ocean view with a drink in your hand, or recline inside in central air-conditioning. If you're just returning from the beach, enjoy a rinse in the outdoor shower and let the private washer/dryer take care of your swimsuits. The semi-open kitchen features a breakfast and a swanky French door refrigerator, and that's in addition to the private gas grill available for nights on the patio. Plenty of cooking equipment is included to help you make up your favorite dishes that you can enjoy alfresco in the spacious backyard space. Play cornhole together, light up the fire table and admire the stars, or take a dip in the hot tub or a refreshing night swim. This friendly home is close to restaurants and plenty of attractions - you'll never forget just how close you are to the ocean.

Three loungers are in the backyard for sunning.
The living room sofa bed provides an extra sleeping space.
Two kayaks and two adult bikes are available for guest use. Water access to launch kayaks lies at the end of the street!

This is a front/back duplex; this rental is in the back.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles.
2 days notification is required in order to heat the pool. A fee of USD 35 per day must be paid prior to check-in to purchase pool heat for your stay.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Some issues...

Furnace didn't work upon arrival. Had to wait for Vacasa to contact local representative. Was fixed after several hours. Water not hot enough in shower. Pans in kitchen disgusting. We asked for a new pan and Vacasa rep was rude in response. Ended up buying a pan from Publix and getting reimbursed. I think this property is up for sale.

Great little spot with a great backyard to provide afternoons and evenings of entertainment. Even when it was too windy at the beach the backyard provided a great alternative

Greatness

What an awesome place. You’re so blessed to have such a wonderful home to share with people all over the world. The house is fabulous. Everything you could possibly need is there. It was well organized clean. The landscaping and the pool of course added bonus. I will say the pool salted so it is kind of hot at times, thank you again for such a wonderful birthday vacation

Just perfect!

This home is so cozy and beautiful. The swimming pool was perfect for hot summer days and nights. The kids loved it! Having the downstairs shower was a huge plus for our family. The home was very comfortable and we will definitely be staying there again on our next Keys vacation. It’s very obvious the owners take pride in their home. Highly recommend renting this home. It was “Just Perfect”

Fantastic!!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The home was absolutely fabulous and super clean. The outside at night was spectacular and it truly felt like our own oasis. The home is on a quiet street with sweet neighbors as well. We already said we will be back next year!

Marathon Oasis

This was a wonderful place for myself and husband. We enjoyed mornings/afternoons in pool, in hot tub and evening dinners on patio. Great location for day trips. Not a deal breaker, but living room area rug could be switched out. All in all, it was a great stay and would rent again.

Amazing Rental

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Grey Sailboat. House is private and has all the amenities needed to make you feel like you’re at home. Duplex neighbors were so sweet very sweet. Will be coming back :)

Great stay

Enjoyed this property a lot. The pool was great in the morning and late evening because it was shaded. Enjoyed the outside area very much at different times of the day as the sun was very strong. So having different outdoor space options helped. Only 1 shower inside for 4 people so the outside shower was awesome and used daily. Outdoor speakers for enjoying the pool and air conditioning a great reprieve from the intense heat. Quiet neighborhood, close to beach and grocery shopping. Would recommend and would stay again.

Wonderful Home

We stayed at this property for 9 days and it was absolutely wonderful! The house was the perfect size for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). We ate out at the local restaurants and didn't use the kitchen much. There are so many places to enjoy the waterfront nearby that we never ate at the same place twice. The pool/hot tub was a favorite for the kids and we spent a lot of time in there. I also really enjoyed the fire table by the pool that my husband and i used while watching the kids swim in the evening. I never encountered any issues that made me reach out to the host. It was perfect. In regards to the surrounding area, we felt very safe during our stay and there is so much to do that is nearby! I would highly recommend this home as a vacation location!!

Relaxation

We had a wonderful and relaxing family vacation at this home! We enjoyed the overall layout and the amenities of this property. The location is great and close to so many restaurants and entertainment. A couple things we’d like to see improve; it’s time for new rugs, new sets of drinking glasses, some new blinds as some are broken. Larger items- the mattresses need to be replaced; they are old spring mattresses, one with metal sticking out of it and the deck is sagging and bowing- it’s time to replace. Besides these few things this home was a great spot for our family, we made so many wonderful memories and we will return again next year!

Beautiful, clean place

This place is actually better than you can see in the pictures. It has a great backyard with palm trees, plenty of seating, and the pool is so nice. The porch is nice and big as well. There are plenty of places to sit and eat outside. We cooked inside and used the grill and had everything we needed. The place was very clean. I am pretty picky when it comes to this and had zero concerns. No complaints about the house at all. It had everything you need for your stay too, like dish detergent and soap. The neighbors are very nice as well. My kids said it was our best vacation house!

Our Marathon stay Christmas til NewYears

Pool was very nice! We paid for each day of our stay for the pool to be heated, It was perfect, the home had many amenities to make our stay even better. We love Marathon, it’s the best key imo as it’s in the center of the keys making you close to everything. We have been coming to the keys for 20 years now on Christmas and New Years. We r never disappointed in fact we come back again each year in February. The Grey Sailboat was quite a nice place to spend our Christmas holiday! We may be back next month if we get a new available booking. Ty VRBO & the owners of the “Grey Sailboat” in which we rented the back side of the well stocked, well cleaned, and the perfect 10 day stay in paradise. Thank You for helping us make 2024 come in with a bang, beautiful view of all the fireworks over the ocean and for the most part of our 10 day stay. So close to the many restaurants like Plaza Grill, The steak and lobster house, Faroe Island Marina and Yacht club also made our New Years Dinner wonderful. All the restaurants and shops and attractions were fun. Never a dull moment even tho there were a few wet days in between we managed to do something fun and interesting. A short drive to Key West was a great time in Mallory Square, Hemmingway House & the Aquarium were just a few attractions to see. Also the Conch Republic for lunch was lovely as we watched all the huge powerboats docked in the marina creating the most outstanding view. Deval street is always fun with plenty to see and eat!

Just Shy of Perfect, but will definitely go back.

This condo is an elevated duplex. The back unit is the unit you will be staying in. Parking is under the unit. The back yard is enclosed with a privacy fence that has your own private pool. We paid the extra money to have the pool heated for the week. Well worth the money. There is also a very nice hot tub under the unit and out of the sun. Both the pool and hot tub are very clean and well kept. There is a pool cleaning company that comes once a week and checks the chemical levels and gives good care to both. The beds are both queen size. Both mattresses are older and well worn. However, we thought they were very comfortable. There is also a pull out sofa. We enjoyed the deck/porch in the evenings playing games and while we had our meals. The deck boards are reaching the end of their lives. There is quite a bit of sag and lean to the entire deck area. The kitchen has everything you can need. However, the skillets they have, and there are several, all need to be replaced. They have the non stick surface and the coating is either missing or is flaking off, some are rusty. The washer and dryer are nice, but very difficult to maneuver around with the way they are set-up. They work well, but the doors(front loaders) should be reversed, if possible. It sounds like a negative review, but we all loved the unit and want to come back every time we visit the Florida Keys. Thank you for making an enjoyable and memorable stay.

Great house, location is good, quiet area lots to do in Marathon

The house was clean, cared for and we had no issue with the location. All shopping is close by for food and pharmacy and the area has great beaches. We lost two days-stayed waiting for repairs, the dishwasher broke (first day) drain backed up, flooded the kitchen with the repair man there, and we had to clean it up. Again, near end of our stay, when we tried the dishwasher, the drain backed up and we called VACASA (Property Mgr.) who was slow in getting out to fix the dishwasher, so we lost another day to waiting for the repair person to arrive. The owner has since replaced the dishwasher and had the drain issue addressed. The house is in a great location, the neighbors are great and it is a quiet area.

the smoke alarm low battery went off at 3 am and ruined the night as there were no batteries around and stores were closed. Would think that for guests safety the batteries would have been checked/changed frequently, Would also recommend 2 small lamp tables and lamps in bedrooms to provide lighting versus just ceiling fan lights.
