We stayed at this duplex unit for 10 nights and it was very nice, starting with great communication by the owner before and during our stay (fast, clear, responsive, and helpful). The house was very clean and appeared to be newly painted inside. There are very nice kitchen appliances - very clean frig with large capacities in main and freezer compartments; great ice maker in freezer; large oven and microwave; and lots of eating and serving utensils and larger knives. Both bathrooms are a good size and have good lighting and fans. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable (we didn't use the twin beds), and the linens and towels were all high quality. The cooling system was very effective, and there are ceiling fans in every room connected to the ceiling lights. The screened-in porch is relatively large, and overlooks the concrete retaining wall with a nice fish cleaning table where you can dock a boat and/or fish. We caught small fish off the dock (examples: snapper, shark, snook, toad fish, crabs) and saw manatee swim by on multiple days.
There are no shared amenities with attached duplex unit, except the front dock area for fishing. While you can hear planes take-off and land at the nearby airport, there weren't very many and it wasn't as loud as we thought it would be. But you can hear outside noise (from street and kids playing), especially when in bedrooms. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.
We had a great stay in Marathon this past week. House is in a great location and has everything you need. We cooked and grilled out each night and had everything for it. The house is very clean and the canal was great for docking the boat. The boat ramp is right down the road, so made for easy launching when we got there. I would stay here again, for sure.
This home was perfect for myself, husband, and 3 yo son. Everything was extremely clean upon arrival. The house was stocked with everything we could possibly need for our stay. The location was great, short distance to grocery stores, dining, beaches, and some great fishing locations. Abigale was extremely kind and helpful and always available when we needed any sort of guidance. Thanks so much for an awesome vacation! Canât wait to come back!
Clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. A couple of minor things: refrigerator door is hinged on the wrong side and interferes with the kitchen table; also a missing fan chain in the smaller bedroom doesn't allow the fan to be adjusted or turned off. When we arrived, I realized we had not received instructions to unlock the property. I messaged Abigale and she responded in just a few minutes. There is an external floodlight on the driveway but no lighting on the long staircase up to the lanai. That's a problem when arriving home after dark.
This is a lovely home, and was perfect for our escape from winter weather!
We had a great time and enjoyed our stay. We would definitely return here. It was in a quiet location, easy to get to, and close to groceries, beach, restaurant, etc.
Thank you for allowing us to stay.
Good location, well maintained home, would recommend
Having visited the keys for 30 years now this is our first 2 bedroom home, usually we rent much larger houses and come down with my entire family. The house has 2 bedrooms, one with a very large bed, another with 2 smaller beds but they were all comfortable which is extremely important. The appliances all seemed very new and everything worked, there were 3 tv's as well and they were setup very simple and easily operated. We cook every night in the Keys and the kitchen was clean and well laid out however I would suggested just a few items that would be very useful to anyone renting. A cutting board, a spatter screen (for frying fish, etc), at least one sharp knife and perhaps a steamer/not scratched teflon cookware. I'm sure the pots and pans were in good condition once but sadly renters likely don't respect property and use metal utensils in them and also warp the pans with high heat. If you're big into cooking like us it may behoove you to bring a few good pots and a chef's knife. Other things I liked about this rental, first off it was quite clean, also having a full sized washer and dryer on the main level was very convenient. The air conditioning worked well and there were no limiters placed on its adjustment range, a nice improvement from some rentals that have had it locked at 75 degrees or another temperature. There's also a freezer by the car port area that worked as well, we used it to make ice for our cooler. The fish table by the canal was also convenient. More positives, the house had NO smells of smoke, fish, animals or otherwise, another very welcome experience. The owners were also easy to reach but everything was so simple we honestly never had the need to call them. Lastly, the wifi worked well for us in all rooms. It's unlikely we would rent this particular house again but only because we generally need at least 3 bedrooms, we could certainly rent from these owners however, I would recommend this rental to anyone visiting the keys that wants a jumping off point to experiencing the keys from a very conveniently located home.
I spent a week at this house over new years with my wife and 3 kids (6-11 yrs). The house is very nice and was clean. The beds are really comfortable and easily slept all 5 of us. We had one issue with the ceiling fan/light being on the same wireless controller as the adjoining house which resulted in our bedroom light turning on extremely early when the neighbor got up for work. I ended up taking the light bulbs out of our fan and the problem went away. The property manager lives close by and was available the only time we needed them. Overall was a great location close to a lot of activities in Marathon and a very nice house. I'd recommend to friends and family.
I was born and raised here in Marathon, FL. My brother and father are both charter boat captains, so we have Charters available as well. I own a hunting/fishing clothing company called Splittin Hairs Outdoors. I also work as a substitute teacher in Monroe County, and do book keeping for Silent Hunter Fishing. I got my Bachelors degree in Miami and currently reside in Key Largo, with family in Marathon.
There is easy access to the Florida Gulf and Ocean. The house has been completely renovated so everything is brand new. There is covered parking, and a beautiful screened in balcony.
