Hali'i Kai

Hali'i Kai at Waikoloa Beach Resort is a 29-acre oceanfront resort, along an ocean golf course and the Pacific Ocean with luxurious 2-3 bedroom townhomes in a park-like setting with picnic areas and plenty of tropical plants and flowers. Within the complex you will find tennis/pickle-
ball courts, half basketball court and a mini potting green, also grassy grounds for kids to run on.  This gated complex has different views; ocean, mountain, golf course, and gardens. The private Ocean Club is exclusively for Hali'i Kai owners and their guests. Overlooking the Pacific ocean, you can swim, dine owner, and exercise.

Great condo and area.

Every thing was great. The drop pin on the VRBO map isn’t in the correct place so that was disappointing as we thought we were closer to where we wanted to be. Otherwise great place to stay.

Lovely and spacious condo.

Beautiful and spacious condo. Lovely gardens and well maintained complex. Being at garden level necessitated sparing use of AC. We loved the beach chairs, the army of plastic containers for storing food, the most excellent TV and its many options, ceiling fans in every room, the ice maker in the fridge and especially the morning coffee (not included) on the Lanai. My wife loved the ocean breeze blowing through the gym at the Ocean club and the pool is excellent for young children. The unit is a short distance from two excellent beaches, Hāpuna (waves and sun) and Waialea beaches.

Fabulous Vacation

The rental was in a great location with a beautiful pool area with food and drinks. Check in was smooth and the unit was perfect for a family of five. The only thoughts to make our stay even better, would be having the AC set a bit cooler for the evenings and some of the beach equipment updated and restocked.

New Year at Hale Kailani

Reviewer Comments: This three bedroom, 2 bath condo is nicely furnished with windows on 3 sides allowing lots of natural light indoors without any direct sun to overheat the living space. We enjoyed listening to the birds in the mornings, especially when turkeys showed up. The condo was clean, well maintained and near the BBQ. A few more BBQ utensils would have been nice, but we made do. There's lots and lots of dinnerware but we were glad to have purchased ready-to-cook dinners, as there is not an abundance of baking dishes. The managing company, LUVA Real Estate, especially Adriana, is very responsive and easy to work with. We have used them before.The entry to the hieroglyphics trail is an easy walk away with the majority of the ancient art south towards the shopping center. The beach is a pleasant stroll, or an easy drive, just south of the Hilton. The private pool and restaurant associated with the complex are lovely in the afternoon.

A great setting close to close to great outdoor spaces is including barbecues and hammocks. In a great community with one of the best pool settings and bar/restaurant in the area. The unit was clean spacious and perfect for a family of 5.

Big Island Basecamp

We stayed here shooting an episode of our PBS travel show "Outside Beyond The Lens". I've rented in this area before and this was another great experience. The property is clean, well-maintained and we always love Waikoloa for our Big Island home. Loved the kitchen and open floorplan. The Master bath is GREAT! We would definitely stay here again.

Paradise! Wonderful condo with a few glitches

I really enjoyed staying here with my 22 month old son and father. The corner ground level location was really convenient, nice to be able to step out the back door and be in the lovely grounds and my toddler could play easily without any safety concerns. The kitchen is well stocked and really has everything you would need. The beds were very comfortable, the linens well stocked and high quality. Overall it was a great experience. My main concern is that my son doesn't sleep well in warm temperatures and I wanted to have the A/C on at night. However, the "Nest" smart system automatically turned the A/C off after a couple of hours and I needed to reset it in order to have the A/C on all night and not be woken up by my uncomfortable toddler over and over again all night when the temp went back up again. I contacted the property manager about this. She asked me firmly to please not make any adjustments to the system until she was able to make a plan with the owners but sadly she never did get back to me. She was lovely and I assume meant well, but it's not fun to wake up multiple times each night to turn the A/C back on and comfort a fussy toddler when I would like to enjoy vacation. One other more minor concern is that the dishwasher didn't seem to do a good job- lots of particles on the items after a wash so I ended up hand-washing everything while we were there. Overall we did enjoy our stay! But these are things I would have liked knowing ahead of time so I felt it reasonable to include in my review.
