Steve and Maryanne are wonderful hosts. They are very kind and good at getting back to you if you have questions. We loved staying in their place. The set up is wonderful and clean. We were very comfortable there. The kitchen had all the amenities you would need for cooking. The lanai was comfortable and we enjoyed having breakfast and coffee out there and sitting out there in the Evening relaxing with a nice breeze. A-bay is in walking distance. (Which is important to me). We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I would go back there as often as I could. We highly recommend staying here.

And the proximity to Kolea's lovely infinity pool, hot tub and then a few more steps to A-Bay is marvelous! Glad you enjoyed 'toes in the sand' in about 5 minutes. This was our second stay at this property, and it was just as great as the first stay, last year. The condo is spacious, very clean and has everything you need for a wonderful big island getaway. I do the cooking, so the kitchen and the grill are my favorite part of the condo. The kitchen is extremely nice and very spacious and has all the amenities needed to cook your favorite meals. The condo is on a gorgeous property with access to a very nice pool area and easy access to the beach and walking distance to several great restaurants.Thank you and we will be back again!

Our stay at the Kolea penthouse was excellent. The penthouse was comfortable and had everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked and had everything we needed. The easy access to A Bay along with the provided beach accessories (boards, chairs, etc) made it easy to visit and enjoy the bay. The snorkeling is pretty good in the bay. The sunsets were incredible. We would stay here again.

We had a great time in the Kohala Coast. This unit was a great place to stay as our home base while exploring this portion of the island. The resort pool is a dream and we were fortunate to work in some time relaxing there. The house is well stocked with most everything you might need. We did have a couple functional issues which we communicated with the hosts about. Make sure you arrive in the daytime. Unit is difficult to find in the dark the first time. This is no reflection on the hosts. They provided thorough instructions. We would stay again should we ever have the privilege to return.

Aloha Colleen and guests Glad you all enjoyed your stay at our spacious Kolea penthouse condo. For the benefit of future guests' consideration I will address the 'functional issues' you mentioned. 1. Large, maghony sliding glass door did not slide well. You mentioned this to us on the 4th day of your stay You mentioned that your husband moved it from the track... in an attempt to adjust it? We offered to send a technician that day for any necessary adjustments. You advised it was not necessary. 2 days later, departure day, you advised that the operation of the door was quite difficult.... ?? 2. On the morning of your departure you advised us that the guest bathroom's toilet was running. [?flapper?] 1st we heard of this minor issue. What we do: As super responsible hosts, our technician / repair team came right after you left. Recap: i feel your rating of [only] 4* was too harsh. This IS a 5* unit and we always immediately address all repair items, proactively in advance, best we can, and certainlyonce notified by a guest. We stay in the unit ourselves every 4 months to address everything we can observe to maintain 5* quality for guests. Respectfully, Maryanne & Steve Swaim, hosts on the Kohala Coast since 2012

Fabulous location in all respects. Car is not needed to enjoy much of what the Waikoloa Beach Resort has to offer. We just returned from a week at this property and it was a perfect fit for our family for the week. The location is wonderful - walking distance to the beach and lava lava and the shops and a short commute to the various activities we had booked. The pool and hot tub were beautiful with wonderful views. And the sunsets were simply incredible (I commented multiple times that it felt like we were living in a post card!)We are already thinking about another stay in Kolea!

Amazing location and property

Fantastic accommodations! We've rented homes before and have never stayed anywhere with so many "extras" available. Highly recommended and we would definitely stay here again.
