Wonderful house, good beds, nice bathrooms, 2 refrigerators, spacious common areas to have and enjoy the whole family together. The little touches of Christmas were perfect. The beautiful view from many locations in the house including the back porch with your morning coffee made for a great stay!
Our family of 13 spent 3 nights. This home is beautiful. The lay out of bedrooms and bathrooms worked great for our family of 7 adults and 6 kids. Location was excellent. Our stay was fabulous.
Our grandson broke the TV down stairs, we called to let them know, we went out, replaced it, even upgraded to a bigger TV....only to then be charged 35 for them to come program it....not enough parking, and the our cars were acted by a bear... because the neighbors put out watermelon....
House is in need of a few repairs, porch railing loose, blinds coming out of the wall, etc. but overall a good stay. The grill was a problem though as it would not go above low. Also the upstairs hall bathroom has no shower curtain and when asked about it, was told itâs never had one and it was fine the water wouldnât go outâŠGame room was great and we spent a lot of time there. Great location to Helen and hiking.
This has the potential to be a nice little place to stay, but our stay was not good. There were several issues we experienced:1. On the check in day, I never received any communication from the host to provide the door code and the booking said check in was 2pm but host stated it was 4pm which was an issue because we got there at 3pm but she was finishing up when we pulled up. 2. The door did not lock and we couldnât leave so she had to come back and change the battery. 3. There was a dirty pot sitting in the sink full of dirty water and the faucet was hanging down almost in the pot and did not retract so it seemed broken. 4. There were absolutely NO eating utensils, not 1 fork, spoon or even a butter knife in the entire kitchen. There was 1 old steak knife just thrown in an empty drawer and all of the drawers were empty except 1 that had miscellaneous stuff in it. 5. There is a dishwasher but is not hooked up and doesnât work. 6. We were provided wash cloths and towels but there were no hand towels to dry our hands and no foot towel in the bathroom. 7. The WORST issue is the tub was clogged so both of us had to shower as the dirty water gathered and covered our feet as we tried to wash which was disgusting.
We had all our adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren together, 12 of us total. Pros: The house was spacious and laid out well. The downstairs game room was nice to have for the grandkids to have somewhere play. The neighborhood was nice. The house was conveniently
The layout for large groups and location is perfect. The living room picture. Needs to be updated to reflect the current furnishings. The kitchen utensils need to be replaced. The house was extremely dirty. We checked in after hours so I had to clean for the first two hours we were there. The stove was so dirty. Every time we used it. The smoke alarm would go off. They offered to send the cleaners back, but we were working with three family staying together, and didnât have a timeframe that everyone would be out of the house at the same time. They didnât offer any sort of compensation. The house needs to be completely deep cleaned. There was grease all over the kitchen counters. The coffee pot tray was never drained, and there was coffee spilled all around it. The toaster oven is disgusting. All of the blinds and decorations and headboards were covered in dust. There was dried yogurt all over the couches all over the dining room table and end tablesYou could tell they had spot mopped the main pathway through the bathrooms, but didnât move the toilet paper stand, and there was gunk built up all around it. We had to contact the management company three times.: 1 for cleaning issues 2- for oven 3- for strong gas smell from downstairs gas logs. Since they closed before we got there, there wasnât a way to notify them of the cleanliness issues when we arrived. It was comfortable for a large group with plenty of areas for each age group to have their own space.
We enjoyed our time together with siblings children and grandchildren. The house was exactly what we needed for our group of 14. Everyone from oldest to youngest found something to do in Helen and surrounding towns. We would go back again. The host was very good to keep in touch.
I would like to start off saying the rental company was very good at staying in touch and trying to help. We would rent through this company again, just never this house. This house has not been maintained and is outdated. The showers have mold, you can smell the mustiness as soon as you walk in the property. The windows framing, exterior doors, and door jams as well as decking have extreme rot. My son and I are asthmatic and required our rescue inhalers. My son now has a respiratory infection. We would have checked into a hotel but due to the festival there were no vacancies. The outdoor living furniture had not been taken care of or cleaned in what appeared to be years. The throw pillows were moldy and the cushions were torn to pieces in what appeared to be rat or squirrel nests. If time and money were to be invested into this property it would be ideal for large groups. Currently though it is a health hazard to stay there.
We had a great time . Cabin was clean and lots of space for our family and son who brought friends . The basement is great space for plenty of kids to hang out and have their own space .
