Extra notes:
Please Note:
During the summer a burn ban may go into effect in all of Lewis County. During this time campfires, the use of charcoal briquettes, and any other form of burning may be prohibited.
Winters in Packwood may get very snowy. It is the guest's responsibility to be properly equipped for harsh winter driving conditions. We do our best to keep our cabins accessible, but winter traction tires and 4-wheel drive may still be required.
We stayed here to ski at White Pass, it was a very nice couple of days, easy to get in & out. Kitchen had everything we looked for, beds were comfortable. All in all a great spot for our little vacation.
The Nanook Haus was large enough to comfortably house my family of 6. Very clean and easy check in / out process. Highly recommend walking/driving to the Trails End River Park; the view is breathtaking! (Directions are not provided in the home - picture added for clarity...the red circle is the location of the rental. Walk down Cottonwood Lane to get there.) Would definitely stay here again!
Clean, easy to access, open spaces, great price!!Loved the wood burning fireplace and firepit. Lovely view from the porch. So many activities nearby, as well as restaurants, grocery store, etc. We will definitely be back.
We had a lovely stay. The area was great. Our GPS did get confused at first and took us down the back behind the property. But once we arrived, it was clean and well furnished. The only thing we feel could be improved is maybe the addition of 1 or 2 more portable AC units, as the fans and single unit werent really enough for the 80 degreee weather. Other than that, our family had a fantastic time!
We stayed here for two nights as we were up here on vacation for the Mt Rainier 5k and half marathon. Drive to Ashford was pretty easy and beautiful. House was very peaceful and quiet. House was very clean and beds were very comfy. If it wasnât so hot while we were there, the hammock and fire pit would have been amazing to use. We didnât do much exploring of Rainer national park, so I guess I will just have to come back and stay here again!
Great central location for our family! As described. They couldâve shoveled the stairs prior to our arrival, but we did it ourselves, so no huge deal. It worked, and we had a great Christmas!
This is a modular home. We enjoyed walking in the neighborhood to the river. The microwave is extremely small. The house doesnât have air conditioning and was extremely hot. The management provided fans for us but it was still very hot.
The house was great- very clean and accommodated the 4 of us well.
The house was 80 degrees inside when we arrived- very hot! I called the rental manager and she was very nice and sent over a couple of fans. It finally cooled down in the evening. When we came back the next day it was again 80 degrees inside the house and took a very long time to cool down. I think a couple of portable air conditioning units would be a very nice addition
We absolutely loved our time in Packwood. Your home was well appointed and comfortable - literally felt like home!! Town is adorable. We found everything we needed at the local grocery store and there were even a few wonderful coffee shops in town too. Mt Rainier National Park was a blast! In the park we did some rainy hikes, some snowshoeing, saw waterfalls, and even played in the snow. Nanoock Haus was close (25 minutes and 60 minutes) to three entrances to the park that contained the most to do. Many of the hikes we planned were closed due to downed trees, damaged bridges, or too much snow but we managed to find plenty to do and just loved our time in the park. We hope to return again so we can do the rest of the hikes we missed out on. When we return, we fully intend to stay in your home again.
