Quiet countryside shipping container home. Relax or enjoy outdoor recreation

Enjoy a secluded stay in a peaceful country setting. Our modern shipping container home is nestled on a hillside in the corner of our 160 acre farm. This unique space has 2 bedrooms, each bedroom has a queen bed and full closet. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house, making it perfect for two couples. The home is complete with a fully stocked kitchen and a bathroom, a commons area and a deck overlooking the countryside. A beautiful 5 min drive from Viroqua and Westby, WI. Two quaint small towns with lots to offer. The Driftless region has a wide variety of year-round outdoors activities to offer. Spend the day trout fishing on nearby streams, biking the Driftless area, canoe the Kickapoo river, or go for a hike at our many parks, and return to the peace and quiet. Enjoy the scenery from the deck or have a bon fire.

Extremely impressed with every aspect of our stay. The container small home was incredible! Professionalism of building unbelievable. Interior impeccable…walls, ceilings, closets, bathroom , kitchen…you could never tell it was constructed out of three shipping containers. Family of wild turkeys and family of deer entertain my wife ..very happy…if you get the chance, spend few days …quite beauty…

Hidden Hillside Hideaway

This was exactly what they promised it to be. A quiet, hidden, hideaway from the rest of the world. So relaxing! The house was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The hosts were easy to communicate with and responded promptly. We are so glad we chose Hidden Hillside to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

Comfortable stay

Enjoyed time at the property while visiting family in the area. The Wi-Fi was excellent, which made remote working easy. Would definitely stay again next time we're in the area.

Great Stay

Had a great experience staying here. The house was wonderful and very clean. It was quiet and peaceful just what the family was looking for. I would definitely stay here again. Would very much recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice relaxing getaway.

Unique space, good location

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here. The shipping container house was a unique and comfortable layout. Location was quiet and peaceful in the country, but close enough for a short drive to Viroqua. I would stay here again.

Great place!

Very cute property! Amenities were great and it is just as described in the listing. We stayed for the weekend and it was just perfect for our little getaway. Very peaceful and the deck is a great place to sit outside and just enjoy nature!

We had a great time at Hidden Hillside Getaway! This place is nestled beautifully in a peaceful rural setting and within 5 miles to area wineries and into town. The property was extremely clean and welcoming.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay at this unique shipping container home. Very clean and comfortable. The service was excellent, it snowed every day, we were plowed out every day. Nice quiet setting.

Great little getaway

Loved our stay! Was quiet and peaceful just what my wife and I needed for a little getaway. Would have given 5 stars, but the water pressure in the shower was pretty weak and the temperature of the water was all over the place. Wouldn't stay warm.

5th Anniversary Trip

We had a beautiful get-a-way, the house is AWESOME and we plan on staying again in the near future. Vernon County Gem

My husband and I spent two beautiful fall days in this very private country setting. The home was very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped for any cooking needs even though we chose dining out. Very clean and up to date. Definitely a place we would consider returning to. The location is minutes away from the communities of Westby and Viroqua.

Neat retreat

We were in the area for a wedding, and this was closer to the venue than the closest hotels, so we were glad to get it booked for a long weekend! It was more spacious than expected and fit my spouse and I as well as my parents comfortably. A really nice getaway. The fire pit in the back was a great way to unwind at the end of the day, and it was fun listening to the cows mooing nearby. The owners did a really nice job with the place and are really friendly. I absolutely recommend staying and checking out the nearby towns of Westby and Viroqua. We'd love to come back!

Modern home in beautiful area

We were looking for a cabin within driving distance of the Twin Cities. This fit our tastes perfectly. It had modern furnishings, was quiet and out of the way, and allowed us to relax and enjoy the beautiful Driftless area. The house had everything we needed including hotel-like amenities- i.e. towels and tiny shampoo and conditioner bottles. The hosts gifted us a bottle of local wine and fudge and a note for our anniversary. They were responsive and made useful recommendations for hiking and restaurants nearby. We felt right at home. (Only better because it was clean and quiet!)

Peaceful getaway

Hidden Hillside was just as lovely as the photos! Everything was very clean and tidy, and the home was surprisingly spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the AC was most appreciated during this hot weather! Communication with the owners was very easy and efficient. Kitchen was very well appointed and the laundry room came in handy and worked well without being noisy. The dishwasher was great to have as well. There isn’t much room to move around the sides of the beds, but I’d rather have a large bed than more space to get out of it. Our relatives were all curious to see a house made of shipping containers, and were most impressed! Thanks for a relaxing, quiet, restful place where all our needs were anticipated.

Kitchen was very well stocked with anything you could possibly need. The decor was tastefully done and lovely. The entire home was squeaky clean. Felt like we were staying in a brand new home. Very cozy. We didn't want to leave!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Our rental is in a peaceful and quiet setting on the back corner of our farm. You get a countryside feel but it is close to 2 quaint towns with great restaurants and grocery options. There is also lots of places to hike, bike, snowshoe or cross country ski in the winter in addition to word class trout streams with in a few miles. There are usually deer in the fields and plenty of birds. You can walk our farm, enjoy the view from the deck or build a bon fire.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our rental is build using 3 refurbished shipping containers together to make a unique 800 sq foot space with a deck. The bedrooms are at each end of the home with the living room and kitchen in the middle giving guests some privacy. We have added a deck Off of each bedroom for some added privacy to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or relaxing and watching the stars at night. Our kitchen is very well stocked with all the conveniences of home.
