The perfect couples retreat. The hosts were very welcoming. Wish we had spent more time there but we were attending a wedding at Vernon Vineyards. Highly recommend it!
My 6th time here and still one of my favorite places on the planet. So quiet and still and has a wonderful creek you can sit in! Hosts are amazing and accommodating and just plain nice.
We enjoyed spending the weekend again this year! Great Guest House! Toured the surrounding countryside, christened new 4-wt fly rod, and did some sewing on a rainy day. We highly recommend this place, you wonât be disappointed!!
Lovely little homestead in a peaceful valley where the owners make you feel right at home. Everything you need for a relaxing stay in the countryside. Highly recommend!
This peaceful, lovely farm offers its guests views of a green hillside and grazing animals, the mesmerizing applause of a running stream in the yard, and a sky full of stars at night. The guest house is charming and comfortable, with everything you need to feel at home. The hosts are wonderful people, too!
I really loved having a chance to stay at a fully-equipped house for the weekend. My boyfriend and I loved our time at Knapp Creek Farm. We got to hear and see chickens, and two cats hung around us. We grilled some brats on the gas grill our first night, and had a fancy dinner in LaCrosse on Saturday night. The mattress was very comfortable. It was nice to have a full-sized refrigerator, stove and dishwasher with all the pots and pans a person could want for cooking. The road getting there is windy, but that makes it less traveled, so you get a sense of privacy. Love it! Will return some time. They are open in the winter, too, so maybe that is when we will come back.
Knapp Creek Guest House was exactly what we needed to relax and enjoy a quiet weekend. We loved the property including the creek, open landscape, and overall scenery. The guest house was immaculate and everything was provided for that is needed for travelers. Rick and Janie were delightful and we enjoyed visiting with them under the pavilion into the evening. It's always nice to stay at a place where the hosts are down-to-earth and friendly. We have two dogs that are 13 and 3 and they had the time of their lives. The only thing I would caution about is that our 13-year-old has arthritis and difficulty with mobility and she struggled with going up and down the stairs. We knew this would be an issue before we went so we were prepared to help her up and down with a "sling." It's just something to be prepared for if your dog has an issue with stairs. The area is gorgeous and worth driving around and stopping to shop the bakeries and crafts of the local Amish artisans. We will definitely be back!
My husband and I absolutely adored our stay. The drive from the SE corner of WI to Knapp Creek Farm was gorgeous and a foretelling of a most charming farmstead ideally placed in the most picturesque valley one could imagine. Not only is the loft perfect in every way (well appointed, stocked with the essentials, clean as a whistle, and ideally positioned to benefit from the sunrise and sunset), but we could have spent our entire 3 days just at the farm itself...it's that wonderful. Knapp Creek runs the length of the property and we cast our fly rods and tested our luck (lazily) daily. It's pristine and you can actually see the trout hanging out in the shadows. We might have had luck but for our dogs splashing and scaring them away. The birdlife is amazing - we even saw some rare ones: Kingfisher, Cedar Waxwing, and we think an Indigo Bunting (to name but a few). The honeybees are happy and the butterflies and moths clearly have a bounty of flowers on which to make the farm their forever home. The farm is ideally placed for outdoor lovers. Each day we took an excursion - hiking around the bluffs and prairies, fly fishing the West Fork, kayaking the Kickapoo. Each night we watched stars in an unspoiled sky, roasted marshmallows over an open fire pit, and watched the fireflies light up the dark. AND...our hosts were amazing giving us freshly collected eggs from their coop and raspberries from their garden. All in all, it couldn't have been a more perfect way to spend our anniversary! THANK YOU Knapp Creek Farm!
Beautiful setting. A lot of space to walk our dog. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and cozy. Owners were very nice. Kitchen was well equipped. I would stay there again.
The place was great for a long weekend. The apartment was well furnished and very comfortable, the couch and recliner were great after a long day(s) of fishing. The kitchen had everything you need to make a good meal. The grounds around the build are beautiful. The night stars were bright and plentiful. I did show up in the dark and it a little tricky due to the GPS so be prepared and you will be fine.
So peaceful and quiet! The interior is updated and has everything you need. You can even fish on the property, we caught a couple of small fish. Owners are friendly and my son loved running around the property and interacting with all the farm animals!
Relaxing setting with daily visits by sheep and two cats. The trout stream on the property was a hit with my flyfishing husband. Birds were delightful with baby flycatchers on the deck. Very quite setting.
Just what we were looking for.Remote country place with all the amenities we needed. The hosts live on the property in a nearby home.We had all the privacy we needed. We will be back
The property is absolutely amazing. This place will heal your soul. The pastures to walk our dog in to the immaculately cared for landscaping and post card quality views of this beautiful river valley are awe inspiring. The living space is comfortable and homey. The event space is perfect for any gatherings if the weather isn't cooperating. The outdoor pavilion and wood oven make for the perfect cooking/dining experience. The hosts are two of the friendlest people you could ever meet. Pet friendly if you choose to bring your dog like we did.
This is our 3rd time staying at this property, and it's a core feature of our annual trips to the Driftless area. Quiet and beautiful, with the creek in the front yard and the farm animals nearby. We also love our hosts!
