Our stay was so comfortableâwe met our daughter for a little getaway and had such a great time. We loved the historic design touches and the welcoming living room. The gardens were such a beautiful surprise, and you really felt far from the city despite being minutes from downtown. The communication with the host was quick, and every room was very clean. Would definitely recommend to friends!
We had a wonderful experience at The Barn. In the area for a graduation and could not have stayed at a better place. Linda and Nicole (and Matthew) were very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The barn is as advertised and better. It is beautifully decorated and close to downtown. We hope to stay again.
We loved our 4 night stay here! Our group of 4 adults had plenty of room and loved the short walk to the town square. We are already planning our trip back!
The Barn is a nice place to stay except that inside it is quite dark. The online pictures are deceiving. Be aware that the upstairs bathroom is very small. Also, the upstairs bedroom could use a full length mirror. ( There are two downstairs.)Otherwise, the cottage is clean and well equipped for a short stay.
Everything was great! We quite enjoyed being surrounded by the oaks, perfect Southern Charm and so close to historic Summerville. Clean and comfortable space inside and out. Great gardens to walk through with our 9yr old daughter. The little fairy garden and water surprise was fun for our daughter and her visiting little cousin. Theres even a community playground across the street. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful when needed. We plan to be back the next time we visit our family who lives locally. We even plan to recommend it to our other family who go to visit too. Thank you!
The property was lovely and the house was comfortable. The management team was easy to reach when we had questions and they were very communicative throughout our stay.
We travel a ton so for my husband to say multiple times that weâll be back says a lot. The Barn is such a cool a different place to stay. It has a great layout and was obviously thoughtfully done. The neighborhood and surrounding areas were beautiful. Check in and communication were easy. Definitely as described and then some!We will be back to stay!
The converted barn with exposed beams was charming, and the rustic decor contributed to the theme of the barn. There were plenty of towels, and they were of good quality. Also, soap, paper towels, and toilet paper (more than enough for the duration of our stay, which was great) were provided. The only thing lacking was shampoo, but we had brought our own so it wasn't an issue. There was plenty of room in the downstairs bathroom; the upstairs bathroom was a little tight, but certainly manageable. We were there during a very hot stretch of days, so the A/C had trouble cooling off the upstairs loft; closing the curtains and keeping the ceiling fan running kept it manageable. We would have liked to have had a TV in the upstairs bedroom, though. However, we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay there again.
The Barn was wonderful! The kitchen had all we needed for our quick stay. The decor was unique and created a great atmosphere. The perfect place for visiting Summersville!
Great location. The updates to this converted barn are amazing. The barn had everything we needed for our stay and was very clean. We ran into one of the owners who was very friendly. The downtown area is within walking distance and had a number of restaurants. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
The barn cottage is as advertised. The host was very responsive. We had one small plumbing issue and they took care of it right away. Proximity to downtown is great!
Would stay here again!
The Haybarn is situated in the beautiful, serene gardens on the property of the Linwood Inn, which is just a short walk from downtown Summerville. This unique property was a wonderful place for us to stay for four months. The owners, Linda and Peter, along with their friendly cat (Earl Grey), always made us feel welcome!
The property grounds are stunning . Take a nap on the porch off the second level and it does something to your soul. The house is a little dark but the perfect size for my family . We enjoyed the private drive and the quiet . Beautiful neighborhood .
Absolutely LOVED staying at Linwood! Our time here was a cousins reunion and the barn accommodated the 4 of us beautifully. It is located within walking distance to charming downtown Summerville and our favorite spot was Cuppa Mannaâgreat drinks & people. Thank you Linda for your gracious tour of this propertyâloved the history! Would highly recommend!!
In town for family birthday. Found the barn at Linwood a unique place to stay. Easy to communicate with owners and check in was very easy. Pictures and description of place are accurate. Met with Linda who was gracious to give us a tour of the grounds and spoke about the rich history.
Linwood is a beautiful little cottage tucked back in the huge trees with moss hanging off the branches. It is a hidden gem.
Thank you for sharing your home with my family.
Would definitely stay here again in the future!
My husband, 15 month old and I had a great stay at the barn. The host was in communication from check in to check out. We got clear instructions on how to get there, etc. This place is PACKED with character. So darn charming!! The place was super clean and stocked with everything we needed. They even had a brand new pack n play available which was a huge plus. I was able to cook my baby breakfast every morning and prepare my husband and I delicious coffee. Itâs located right by downtown Summerville with great restaurants and coffee shops (our fave was cuppa manna). If it werenât so hot, we could have walked to downtown. We highly recommend this place. Thank you Linda for your wonderful hospitality.
The Barn at Linwood is very charming. It is surpassed by the kindness and generosity of the host. We loved the barn but due to recent medical problems. The master bed was difficult for myself and my husband. The hostess graciously offered the Bungalow next door. It was just what the doctor ordered. It was beautiful and comfortable. I would recommend staying on any property associated with Linwood. They are beautifully restore and maintained. We cant wait to return.
My husband and I stayed a week in this lovely rental. It was perfect for the laid back trip we had in mind. The property is beautiful and the owners were very friendly. We enjoyed walking to the historic area for eating and shopping. It was a great location for us for the things we chose to do closer to Charleston. We would definitely stay there again if ever back in the area. I didnât do any real cooking but we were able to reheat and found everything we needed for some simple meals. The shower downstairs was great!
Peter and Linda have lived at Linwood for nearly 40 years. During that time they have restored, renovated and restructured the elegant mansion and the numerous out-buildings which are situated on the nearly 2 acre, historic estate. The Barn, Bungalow, 1920's Guest House are each unique in architecture but all accommodate four guests with two bedrooms and two baths, kitchens, laundries and lots of lovely living spaces. Some of our guests come for three months of delightful, Carolina winter, others for summer vacations or work related stays. We love our guests. Hospitality is our heart.
The Barn is a carefully renovated, architecturally significant building, on the historic Linwood estate. Not only is it extremely comfortable due to a complete restructuring, it is loads of fun. Be sure to see the many photos on our website at Linwood B&B. The beautiful property was the home of the Magnolia Plantation owner, Julia Drayton Hastie. The main house, quintessentially Southern Victorian, was built in 1883. The nearly 2 acres of award winning gardens are also of historic interest. Private tours for guests can be arranged.
Comfortable accommodation for exploring the beautiful area, relocating, vacationing near historic Charleston, temporarily working in surrounding area or just relaxing in the gardens after enjoying a short a short, 4 block walk to Summerville's shops and restaurants. Work out center near-by. Owners and or manager are either on site or available.
