Welcome to Sunset Cliffs Cabana Suite! The large modern space features a private entry, 1 bedroom & 1 bathroom + queen sofa bed & ocean views in the desirable Sunset Cliffs area of Point Loma/Ocean Beach. With over 1,000 sq ft of modern light filled design, the Cabana Suite features a roll up glass wall garage door, large queen bedroom, walk-in closet, portable desk/chair & 2 patios with an additional 1,200 sq ft of private outdoor living space. The Cabana Suite is perfect for couples, family time, remote work, beach time, PLNU visit or Thursday Club events! Amenities include: Large 52" smart TV with streaming apps, fast fiber internet, AC, fans & heat, private gas fire pit, sunset swing, BBQ, lounge chairs, outdoor seating, ample free parking right in front of the house & eBikes for rent.

The space:
The Cabana Suite is located on the lowest level of the newly remodeled contemporary home. The only connection to the main house is through a secure door that remains locked so this really is your own private space. Guests access the suite from the street level where there is plenty of free street parking & walk down about 12 steps to access the private entrance to the suite.

Upon entering the Cabana Suite, you'll see the beautiful bathroom to your left with shower/tub combo, vanity & toilet with heated Japanese-style bidet seat (if you haven't tried one, it's life changing)! To the right, you'll continue into the suite to access the open concept kitchen/living space which features an 18 foot roll up glass garage door (with black out curtains) which opens to a 500 sq ft private patio with ocean views, outdoor seating & lounging including a newly installed sunset swing. With the garage door open, you can truly enjoy that indoor/outdoor Southern California ocean view lifestyle!

The living room features a huge flat 52" smart TV, 2 zero gravity lounge chairs (also life changing and comfy), a high top table dining area & a couch which converts to a futon style queen sized bed (no springs!). The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'll need to enjoy your stay including a well stocked coffee station with coffee maker, k-cups, ground coffee, French press, etc. From the living room, you'll access the large bedroom with queen sized bed with Tempur-Pedic mattress & walk-in + sliding barn door closets. In the walk-in closet, you'll find the portable desk & chair for any remote work needs you have. From the bedroom, you can also access the spacious patios to take in those ocean views & alfresco dining.

The newly installed wooden steps take you down to the private backyard patio with an additional 700 sq ft of outdoor living space (that's 1,200 sq ft in total of private outdoor living space). This patio features a natural gas fire pit with new seating cushions & plenty of space to spread out plus a new outdoor dining table set for 4.

In total, you'll be able to enjoy 2,200 sq ft of indoor/outdoor living close to the ocean! At night and early mornings you can often hear the ocean waves. What a perfect way to begin & end your day in this quiet & tranquil area of Point Loma!

Eco friendly:
The Cabana Suite also offers some eco friendly features such as re-cycling bins, energy efficient appliances, solar panels with integrated battery back up for more efficient electrical use & power if outages would occur.

Nearby attractions:
There are many attractions close by too in this central San Diego neighborhood. Sunset Cliffs, Sea World, Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU), Thursday Club, Ocean, Mission & Pacific Beaches, La Jolla, Old Town, Hillcrest, North Park, Little Italy, Gaslamp, Convention Center, Coronado Island & more.

Privacy:
The Cabana Suite offers a completely private space & entrance to the 1,000 sq ft guest suite. Enjoy the entire lower floor of the home, 2 spacious patios (1,200 sq ft) & private fire pit. There's always ample free street parking right in front of the house & a quiet residential vibe for the area.

Let us know if you need anything during your stay! Your privacy & comfort are important to us. We are always available for any questions, recommendations, concerns, etc. but otherwise you'll have the guest suite all to yourselves! Enjoy!

The neighborhood:
The property is only a 10 min drive from the San Diego International Airport & similar distance to Sea World, Mission Beach/Bay, Gaslamp, Little Italy, Balboa Park/Zoo & other attractions. Even closer to Ocean Beach, Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) & Thursday Club. The ocean, cliffs & small beaches in the area are located about a 10 min walk from the guest suite

At the bottom of Point Loma Avenue, you'll find a convenience store (Sea Trader), Pizza place (Rosarios), Mexican restaurant (Sunnie's), small bistro (Little Lion) & gas station. Ocean Beach & Point Loma offer plenty of restaurants, bars & nightlife to enjoy! Jensen’s grocery store is a quick 5 min drive away for gourmet prepared goods & groceries.

My favorite, local Sunset Cliffs beach is at the end of Santa Cruz Street. You'll see the stairs down to access the cliffs & the beach. During the summer season, lifeguards are on duty as well. I also enjoy a run from the property to the end of Orchard Street where you can make your way to this same beach area with some walking on rocks and dirt path. Amazing in the morning or at sunset. Liberty Station is a short 10 min drive with a great Public Market with tons of small restaurants & local shops. There is plenty of free street parking right across the street from the unit. We also offer eBike rentals to explore the area.

Accessibility:
There is a set of stairs (about 12 steps) down from the street & a few steps up to the main entry door which older or limited mobility guests should consider.

Once in the unit, it's a single level guest suite. There are a few steps down to the fire pit & outdoor dining area.

eBike Rentals:
We have 2 eBikes for rent. The cost is $50/day per bike for the 1st day and $25/day per bike for any additional days. There's a basic rental agreement to sign + a $200 damage/loss waiver fee collected at the time of the rental. This is returned at the end of the rental if no damage or loss of equipment.

Early Check-in or Late Check out:
We try to accommodate requests for early check-in or late check out as best as we can depending on the Cabana Suite rental schedule. Please ask us in advance if needed as it's especially difficult to adjust the cleaning schedule for check outs.

If available, we do not charge for arriving 2 hours early (1 pm check-in) or departing 2 hours late (1 pm check out). If requesting an earlier or later check-in/check out beyond this 2 hour window, please ask us for pricing as it can depend on the season and the number of extra hours you need.
