You won't struggle to find personal space in this beautiful Craftsman house located just two blocks from the main strip of charming downtown Independence. Relax and curl up on the couch with a book and a cup of coffee or use the space as home base for your exploration of wine country with your traveling group. Our home can also provide comfortable space for when you need a break between wedding or reunion events. This is a comfortable and inviting place to be your home away from home.
Rented the house for a bevy of beautiful bridesmaids for a wedding at Green Villa Barn. As a perfect location and very well appointed and clean, beautiful old home. Highly recommend.!
We needed a big house to take care of family that came to town from our daughterâs graduation. The neighborhood that this house is in and the quality of this home exceeded our expectations.
Independence is a little off the beaten path, but it is a place everyone should visit. What a lovely town! The house is charming and very roomy. The adults stayed downstairs and the teenagers had the upstairs to themselves. I was impressed with all of the cooking appliances and utensils. The owner was very quick to respond to my messages and questions. Everything was a breeze.
Beautiful property, Definitely want to stay there again next time i'm in the area.
This house was beautiful and perfect for two families to stay together on a joint vacation. It was within walking distance of multiple restaurants and a short drive to the wedding venue we were attending.
We loved this house and itâs convenient location. Perfect for our Thanksgiving weekend, kitchen is well equipped, as well as all bedrooms and bathrooms. Temperature inside was comfy. Loved the cute little town.
Our family had such a great time at this house! There was plenty of space for our party of nine and we were all so comfortable. We also really enjoyed the town of Independence, very charming.
We attended a wedding in Independence and needed a spot for several out of state family members to stay. This house fit the bill perfectly for us. Lots of space, well appointed and very charming.
Everything was great. Not able to use the grill. Dirty and had cobwebs. Table outside, turn upside down on the ground. Main level bathroom window, not able to lock.
The house is good sized, very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the location near Main Street and appreciated the small town feel. We cooked in the well equipped kitchen a couple of evening and it felt like home. Mike the owner was very communicative and friendly. Highly recommend!
Great accommodations. Home was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Only thing we didnât like was the rain that blows itâs horn every night at 12:30 and every morning about at 8:30. We had room for the whole family.
What a beautiful house with tons of space! The location was perfect-walking distance to downtown Independence. The home was very clean, had all of the necessities, and made our stay very very enjoyable.
Just what we needed for our trip. Nice small town feel to relax from busy days of sightseeing and walking along the river trail for exercise in the morning and stopping by the bakery for fresh baked breakfast goods before starting our next adventure.House is a lovely remodel of an early 1900âs historic home with plenty of room.
We had a group of 7 ladies for a planning retreat. The space was large and comfortable for meeting and meals. It's a beautiful craftsman renewed to a T! Very spacious rooms and living space. Some of our group heard the nearby train in the night, but others didn't. We loved our stay!
This was a great house for a party of 10 with plenty of room to sleep everyone. It was very clean and spacious, and everyone had a great time. We were in the area for an event in Salem and this location had easy access to the nearby city. Family members walked to the town festivities, farmers market, movie theater and restaurants.
Michael, the property owner, was quick to respond to messages and wonderful to work with. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place.
Thank you.
House was spacious, which was nice for our family. Property manager was very prompt with response to questions at check in. The train went threw 5 out of the 7 nights at 2:45 am, a block away, and they aren't shy about the horn at intersections (which isnt the properties fault). Overall 5 out of 5. Thank you
The house looks great for as old as it is. Needs better bed linens, all of us found them to not enough sleep comfortably. Heating was very hot at night and couldnât get the thermostat to the right temp. Appliances were great. Shower and bathrooms where clean and plenty of pressure.
My family of nine adults and 3 kids, stayed in this lovely, spacious home where we prepared a Thanksgiving feast!
The kitchen was nicely outfitted with all that we needed(I brought the turkey pan)! The bedrooms were very large as wear the living areas. Very comfortable space to play games, read, do art projectsâŠ
We all enjoyed browsing the cute shops and hanging out at the nearby park with the kids. All within walking distance.
Yes, there is the train track one street over. Amazingly, the kids slept through the midnight run as did some adults. No one complained. In the morning, we all went out to watch the train run by! Donât be dissuaded. Itâs part of the charm of this town!
My family and I would definitely stay at this place again!
The house is better than pictured. Easy walk to fun shops and restaurants in town. Comfortable beds and nicely equipped kitchen. We were very happy with the stay.
It was absolutely wonderful. The house was super nice and clean. It had everything we needed. So glad we found this place. I wound highly recommend it to any one! â€ïžđ
We're Mike and Sayuri in our early 50's, married 26 years, two kids and a sheepadoodle. Newly empty nesters. We are active rental real estate owners and spend a chunk of time handling the properties. We love to hike when time permits, walk our dog Suki and enjoy a great cup of coffee, pint of beer or glass of red wine.
I found this house right before Thanksgiving in 2020. As I pulled into town from Portland I fell in love with the small town charm, the decked out downtown with lights, garland and poinsettia's all ready for the holidays. And then I pulled up to the front of the house just two blocks off downtown and fell in love. This house though in desperate need of remodeling had all the charm to it. It was a gamble with much of the charm covered. A lot of houses have everything ripped out over the years. This one had it's share of problems yet after 4 large dumpster loads of stuff removed, including 8 layers of flooring in the kitchen, the house started to pull together. Though we have much more in store for this house, I'm very pleased with where our remodeling has taken us.
The box beam ceiling in the dining room and the leaded glass hutches in the living and dining room were huge draws for me. But the size of the kitchen and it's potential was a huge selling point. Combine that with the brightness of the main level from the many and huge windows. These sold me on the house. Added bonuses are the huge master bedroom and bathroom on the upper level.
