Breezy Cliff - Beautiful Lake Front House - 5+ BRs/3 sitting rooms/sauna/yoga

This home has been in our family for over 75 years, sitting on a hill overlooking the best part of Bass Lake. It can be your family and friends' perfect lake retreat too. The house has three spacious and comfortable sitting areas, a work area, dining room, a vintage billiard table, ping pong table, a cocktail room, sauna, washer and dryer, and much more. With five bedrooms, it is a perfect place to stay with a large number of guests. One even has an attached bonus room for little ones to sleep close by. For families specifically with small children, a porta-crib, high chair, baby gate, and potty seat are available. Coffee bar upstairs going out to the balcony for those who wake up early can sit in private and look at the lake.

Tremendous sunrises and sunsets can be caught from the front porch, back deck, private pier, or second-floor balcony. Off of the private pier, the lake is shallow to medium depth - perfect for swimming. Guests have access to a tandem kayak, standup paddle board, life jackets, floating noodles, a fire pit, croquet, bags game (corn hole), a gas grill, and more.

We offer a pontoon boat for rental for the entire length of your stay for those who qualify. We have tubes and skis for use.

There are four restaurants within 2 miles of the house, Wood Shed Tap, Bass Lake Pub & Ristorante, Scoops & Smiles, and The Brunch Pub.

Bass Lake is the fourth largest natural lake in Indiana that covers more than 1,400 acres. The lake is great for swimming and water sports. For bike enthusiasts, it is a great lake to ride your bike around measuring 8.1 miles. Near by is The Erie Trail which is part of the transAmerican routes for the Great American Rail-Trail, the northern branch of the American Discovery Trail, and US Bike Route 35. No Parties! No inside furniture is to be taken outside.

No hookah smoking anywhere on the property. No smoking of any kind including marijuana & vapes allowed inside the house at any time. If an odor is detected, there will be an additional $200 fee.

House has a beautiful vintage stove. The stove has been retrofitted with a guard for child protection. Oven only heats to one temperature of 350.

Felt like home

The host provided a lot of nice special touches: fresh flowera in a vase, yoga, mats, gumball machines, games, etc. It made it very easy to slip in to this world and enjoy a weekend with virtually no chance of boredom. Any time we asked ourselves where can we find "x", there was a note in the house manual or a printed direction taped to the wall. I lost count of how many times we said, " They thought of everything"!

Family game time was a big hit. The weather didn't dampen our spirits.

Beautiful and Perfect Stay

The house was beautiful. The location was stunning. The lake was amazing. The house had EVERYTHING you could want/need. There were so many amenities that we used and even more that we did not. This is one of the BEST places that we have ever stayed and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering Bass Lake.

Even better than anticipated

We stayed at Breezy Cliffs for our annual “boys weekend” - my two brothers and I bring our sons and our dad to a new, fun place where we can spend time together, make memories, and pour into our boys as we raise future men. This property was excellent - it was spacious and clean, had all the amenities needed and more, and was positioned perfectly for enjoying the sunset with a warm breeze and bonfire. The owners were wonderful and easy to connect with, and the overall experience was even more special than we had hoped. I highly recommend Breezy Cliffs and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfect space for the entire family!

This property was the perfect space for our summer family getaway. Everything in the description was accurate - the location on the lake was great - with a yard to play games in (bags, croquet provided by owners); firepit by the lake; spacious deck for the whole group to gather on; and beautiful sunsets to see each evening from the deck or the pier. The house itself was roomy and had ample space for our family of 8 adults and 2 small children. The many bedrooms gave us quiet spaces; and the three separate common rooms gave us plenty of space to spread out. We also loved the pool table for an activity all could engage in. Bill was super responsive to my questions and very attentive to our needs - doing whatever he could to make our stay a good one. We made great memories here and hope to make a return trip next summer!

Rader Family Vacation

Our family loves to stay at new places every year and this year we chose Bass Lake. We had 9 people, including an infant and this house did not disappoint. With literally four separate living spaces available we had plenty of room to spread out and every room in this house is a different type of feel according to comments by our adult children. And we loved it. The main living space overlooks the lake and has a beautiful pool table. The deck overlooking the lake has a retractable awning, which was super convenient. You can tell that this was a very loved family gathering space with great energy. We chose to reserve the pontoon boat during our stay and it also did not disappoint.It was super easy to get a hold of the owners and they responded to any question we had immediately. There is also an attached garage with a ping-pong table, which was great during short bouts of inclement weather. The extra fridge and freezer in the cocktail lounge area was a godsend for the way my daughter-in-laws pack. And every detail was appointed in the kitchen, so my daughter-in-laws could do their gourmet cooking that they love to do on vacation. This will definitely be one we return to.

Beautiful Breezy Cliff

Beautifully renovated home, very clean and well appointed. Just about everything you could ask for was provided. From a large amount linens, spices, cookware to floatablesfor the lake.We really enjoyed the cocktail room.The bedrooms were abundant and spacious.We all loved the house itself it reminded us of our grandmas house.We loved the view of the lake and enjoyed the sunsets from the deck.Our bedroom was at the top of the stairs, we felt the bed to be a bit soft.The downstairs toilet had some issues flushing at times. I think the flush amatic tank may have been losing compression. Not a big deal by any means.Owner Bill was extremely nice and very helpful.We also rented their pontoon boat which was very nice and was great for fishing and sunset wine cruises.Only downside which is not by any means a Breezy Cliff issue is that the property on the right of Breezy Cliff is unkept and not nice to look out.All & all we had a wonderful time at Breezy Cliff with all its amenities and atmosphere. We all felt right at home.

We brought our own grill and had a surf & turf feast.

Perfect Location, lots of room!

Bill was very easy to get in touch with, we had 6 adults and 3 kids (2 teens and a 5 year old). The 5 year old LOVED that he could slide off the dock into the water and it was only up to like mid calf on him. Kept him busy for hours! We rented the pontoon boat and it was a ton of fun! The kids loved throwing the tubes on the back and tubing! We were all comfortable with 3 living rooms a big kitchen and all the bedrooms! The only thing I will say is we had zero service in the front part of the house and the driveway (so if we had to gps a store or anything like that we had to drive down the road before the phone would work) also I was nervous about the stove not being child proof at all and my teen did burn his hand on the handle so I kept shutting the gas completely off and had to light all 4 pilots to use it again. We did cook on the grill a lot though, and it’s natural gas so that was nice! Overall, we still had a great family vacation. I definitely suggest this house because Bill will rent you his boat- there is no rental places around here, not even jet skis. And you will want a boat here!

The Jewel of Bass Lake

This was a booking that wasn't planned, but boy, are we glad this worked out! WOW - The Breezy Cliff was exactly what we were looking for! The pictures online do not do it justice. Immediately upon arrival, we felt an old fashioned lake house vibe coupled with beautiful modern updates. It is a spacious, charming and comfortable property. And to add to that, absolutely spotless. One of the cleanest properties I have ever stayed at...anywhere. The kitchen is fully stocked, the living and dining rooms are comfortable and welcoming, the bedrooms and bathrooms have everything you could ever need. Every room of the house was perfect. Outdoors, the shed is stocked with so many things for outdoor/water fun and of course, we rented the pontoon boat. Bill, the owner, could not have been more helpful when it came to the boat and helped us with whatever we needed. Bill was wonderful to work with both during the booking process and during our stay and responded quickly to any questions or requests I had. Once we arrived, he corresponded with updates and check ins to be sure we had what we needed. Overall, we had the perfect week as a family. Our age ranges went from 5 to 70 and every single person had the best time. We hope to be able to stay there again in the future. We loved our time at the Breezy Cliff!

A perfect accommodation

Very nice home with a fantastic main level that gave us plenty of space for our large group. The home and pontoon(additional rental) were well equipped to provide a great week of vacation for our broad range of family and day guests. The owners responded quickly to any questions that arose and were very informative when we met at the rental to go over a few things. We all had great time and loved the accommodations. Highly recommend.

Absolutely Worth EVERY penny!

We made the most memorable memories at this property. It was clean, had everything we needed and If we couldn’t find something Bill was very responsive and even brought over paper towels. Plenty of room to accommodate 12 people with room to spare. Endless activities, boating, biking, bags, campfires, kayaking, fishing( you can buy light up bobbers at the bait shop for night fishing off the dock) . We rented the boat and it went very smooth. The sunsets were like nothing we’ve ever seen, the property overall was just beautiful and very well taken care of. We will absolutely be back next summer!

Bill was a career firefighter / paramedic for 37 years working for Chicago Heights and then La Grange, Illinois where he retired as the Chief of La Grange. Safety is a priority. Phoebe was a Medical Technologist. Her last job where she retired from, was as the Director of Illinois Hospital Laboratories for Advocate HealthCare. Now they spend their winters in Naples, Florida and their summers at Bass Lake!
