My family and I recently stayed at the Salty Fox in Alabama, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a disappointing sight. The property was filthy, with evidence of roach droppings in the pantry and near the dishes. Instead of enjoying our first evening, we found ourselves tackling cleaning tasks that should have been taken care of prior to our arrival.
Despite our efforts, the cleanliness issue persisted, and we were appalled when one of the children stumbled upon a vape left behind by previous guests. This discovery was not only concerning for health reasons but also highlighted a lack of thorough cleaning between stays.
In hopes of rectifying the situation, we reached out to the owner, who sent a cleaning crew the next day. While we appreciated the gesture, it was disheartening to realize that our concerns had not been addressed before our arrival, leading to a significant inconvenience on our part.
What truly saddened us was the owner's responseâor lack thereofâregarding our experience. Despite the numerous issues we encountered, they refused to offer any form of compensation or reduction in price. This lack of accountability and empathy further soured our impression of the Salty Fox.
In conclusion, our stay at the Salty Fox was marred by cleanliness issues, lack of proper maintenance, and disappointing customer service. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this property to future guests and will not be returning.
Overall everything was great. I wish the wall between units was removed so we could be all together but it worked out well. Outside doors in both king suites were not useable. Dishwasher had some issues. There were 20 of us and I would recommend this property to any big family.
We had a great time. The one thing that was disappointing was that we were not aware that the house had originally been a duplex. So we had to go outside and enter the other side anytime we needed to get food which we kept in the one kitchen. It has no way of crossing to each side through the house. We made it work but wish we had known upfront. The kids really enjoyed fishing off the pier. And the walk to the beach wasnât bad.
Gorgeous location of the home. Minutes walk to the beach. Lagoon in the backyard. Host had 2 kayaks that our teenagers were able to enjoy. Home was large enough to accommodate my extended family of 23. Responsive host.
Although the rental (bedrooms) were difference than expected, it worked out great for our softball family. When problems arose Bill was prompt on fixing our problems and helping use enjoy our trip. Location was perfect and the pier was a bonus. The pool was nice to cool off after a day at the beach. Plenty of outdoor space and parking. It could used a few improvements and homey touches and a stand alone ice maker would be a great amenity. Overall it was a great place to stay for the weekend!
