Mountain Cabin near Lake Pend Oreille, Schweitzer Resort, Sandpoint, Wilderness
This is the perfect getaway cabin any season of the year! The cabin backs up to the Kaniksu National Forest and many miles of dirt roads and trails for hunting, hiking, 4-wheeling, motorcycles, side by sides, horseback riding, bike riding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling with a warming hut up the road. Access right from the cabin to many trailheads like Goat Mtn, Scotchman's Peak, Morris Creek and several lakes. Lake Pend Oreille is only 7 miles from doorstep to boat launch. Schweitzer Mtn is a 45 minute drive, the town of Sandpoint about 40 minutes. Very close to Cabinet Mountain Wilderness. Property is on Lightning Creek and the town of Clark Fork is just 3 miles down the road.
This property was perfect for our girls hiking getaway. It was very clean and comfortable. It was also close to the Scotchman's Peak trail. We enjoyed time in the creek after the hike and sitting on the front porch visiting.
This cabin was the perfect place and exactly what we were looking for! It was even prettier in person. We loved playing fetch with their dog, Tuck too.
Loved our stay. Clean and perfect. Everything you need and so much to do within walking distance from the cabin. The area is beautiful. Great hikes and wildlife.
The cabin is even more beautiful in person than it looked in the listing. Itâs in an amazing location with a stunning view of the river from the fire pit. Check-in and check-out were both super simple. The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Although the cabin is on the ownersâ property, itâs set far enough away that it still feels private and peaceful. And Tuck the dog was the cherry on top ,always excited to see us and made the trip even more enjoyable. 100/10 experience, would absolutely come back!
Had the most magical time! The ambiance of quiet, snow, and crackling of fire. The cabin was cozy and cute, and had a nice walk with the pup down to the camping area and creek!
Loved the stay. We were visiting family in the area it was a great alternative to a hotel room. Lots of space and a short drive to Clark Fork. Many thanks to the property owners.
Cabin was really cozy and inviting didnt stay but two nights but was really nice to come to after a long day of fishing on the lake. We took Northstar charters and was like fishing with family. Would come back to this cabin again. If you love the outdoors this is the place for you
We had a great weekend here. The cabin is very clean and owners close by if we need anything. A short walk to the creek and a short drive from a ton of other activities.
The property is peaceful, the owners are friendly and helpful and the furry four legged friends are lovely company! The accomadations were beautiful and clean, with a fully stocked kitchen. There was plenty of firewood for a winter campfire as well.
Cant wait to come back here!
Rented cabin for our fishing headquarters. Close to the creek. Beautiful setting. Comfortable cabin with all of the requirements. Owner checked with us to see if we needed anything.
My son and I had an absolutely wonderful time at the cabin and the surrounding creeks, rivers and lake. Everything went as planned. We met our hosts Tom n Shannon and shared some stories and learned a thing or two about the area. Loved the area so much weâre putting full court pressure on our spouses to possibly move up that way. They have a dog named Spencer and he became our best friend whenever we were on site. I truly miss Spencer. A truly wonderful time. Thank you Tom n Shannon. Say hey and a belly rub to Spence for me.
The cabin was quiet and relaxing, but not as remote and private as the listing made it seem. The cabin is located on the same property as the hoast, between the main house and the storage buildings. I was hoping for more privacy. Lightening Creek was about a quarter mile away. The cabin was clean, at a basic level, but was in need of a regular deep cleaning and dusting and there were ware items in need of repair and ongoing maintenence. We felt the total nightly fee, was expensive for what we got. However, our experie ce with the hoast was good. They were easy to reach when needed.
We enjoyed our stay very much, it was very relaxing. Host very friendly with good communiation and was super accommodating as we arrived earlier than expected on checkin day. Clark Fork is a very quaint town with gas, grocery, restaurant, liquor, etc. Clark Fork pantry is a "must stop" for a huckleberry danish (to die for). Centrally located to many options for a day trip activity; we travelled up to Kootenai Falls and the suspension bridge one afternoon. Beautiful country, at this cabin you are off the beaten path but not so much so that you feel isolated from the world. It would have been nice to have had something other than a futon to sit on in the living area, but not a deal breaker by any means. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
We enjoyed staying at this cute cabin, in the woods, next to beautiful Lightning Creek. Itâs very peaceful and relaxing. A nature lovers paradise. Abundance of hiking trails & wildlife.
This cabin is located just outside of town but feels remote. It is clean, comfortable, and peaceful. The views are amazing and the hosts really have thought of everything. The cabin is on the hostâs property, as clearly noted, but you would never know it. It has its own driveway and is a good distance from the main house. We cannot wait to stay here again!
This was such a great little getaway cabin, and one where you could do as much as you wanted to do, or to do nothing but relax and enjoy the beautiful surrounding scenery and all the water activities on the lake including fishing and boating. It was exactly as described, and one of the first rentals in a long time where everything was in good working condition and no problems whatsoever. The cabin is extremely well stocked with the kitchen essentials and everything that you need to make your stay comfortable. The host family was extremely responsive to any questions that I had and were very friendly. I would definitely stay there again, and already looking forward to going back there next fall. If youâre looking to unwind, and to enjoy nature and hiking, than this is a perfect place. The town of Clark Fork is very small and not a lot to do, but thereâs a small grocery market and several places to eat . The host family also put together a very informative binder thatâs at the cabin that will list out things to do and places to eat in the surrounding towns. There is little to no cell phone reception anywhere in the town, but when you connect to the Wi-Fi at the cabin, you were able to send and receive text messages. Also, donât forget that Clark Fork is in Pacific standard time if youâre coming in from the east.
