Enjoy Serenity on Craig, a private waterfront mountain retreat surrounded by views of the Alleghany Mountains. You cannot beat these views! The clear water of Craig's Creek beckons guests to kayak, tube, fish and swim in its waters. Bring your dog to enjoy it all! This new cottage (sister to popular Cottage on Craig - VRBO 335245) is outfitted with everything you need for your getaway into nature. It is the perfect place to be active and explore (includes a canoe, kayaks, tubes but bring your own fishing pole) or thoroughly relax. Firewood is provided for your primitive outdoor firepit which is ready for s'mores and more. View the night sky free of light pollution. The large patio overlooks the natural beauty of the water and mountains around you. It's the perfect spot for your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Serenity on Craig is peaceful and your place to recharge. Soon see why we have so many return guests to Craig's Creek from the local area and beyond. Visitors love exploring the hiking trails in the forests and take in the natural beauty surrounding this mountain retreat.
The open, fully furnished kitchen, spacious dining room table(seats 10) and comfortable great room have stunning floor to ceiling views, as well as a large stone fireplace with gas logs.
The master bedroom, with its perfect view of Craig's Creek, features a king bed with a full bathroom. The queen bedroom also offers beautiful views and shares a full bath with the bunkbeds bedroom. Books, games and puzzles are available.
Satellite tv, landline phone and free wifi are provided but no cell service.
Enjoy hiking on the property or venture further to the nearby State and National Forest trails. Roaring Run(4 1/2 miles away), Hoop Hole Trail (about 2 miles away) and the Greenbrier River Trail (rated in the top ten hiking trails by Backpacking Magazine) are nearby. Vineyards (Blue Ridge and Virginia Mountain Vineyard), breweries (Jack Mason's Pub), and a great little diner (Maw and Paws) are nearby.
Cook a meal in the beautiful kitchen, on the charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), gas grill (propane is provided) or over the open pit with the oak provided. Bring your water shoes due to the rocky creek bed. We provide paper products and detergents.
Whether you are here for a romantic getaway or a family get-together, you will want to stay at Serenity on Craig and return often.

Located in Eagle Rock, this cottage is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Masonic Ampitheatre and Humpback Covered Bridge are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Blue Ridge Vineyard and The Flying Mouse Brewery. Wilderness Adventure At Eagle Landing and C & O Railway Heritage Center are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Relax and Recharge

This was the perfect family getaway. Mitch and Bobbie thought of everything! Their home is lovely, and Serenity is the perfect word to describe our experience. There is plenty to do. My only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer. We would love to return during the summer months to enjoy more water activities. Thank you, Mitch and Bobbie!

Easter Getaway

The property was wonderful- the pictures don’t do it justice. The hot tub and the creek are perfect- and they have all the fun things to enjoy the creek (kayaks, canoes, nets, tubes, etc). The house was beautiful and stunning views. The house was spotless and very homey. Highly recommend!

Beautiful Serenity Cabin

Clean, relaxing and spacious cabin with access to Craig Creek right out the back door! Everything you need is there, just pack your bag and book your weekend getaway or family retreat! Hosts were accessible via phone or text if needed.

Amazing property

The outdoor and indoor spaces are amazing! We loved kayaking, the hot tub, nearby hiking (roaring run is a must!), and the fire pit. We had a question about the wifi, and the host was very responsive. Overall best VRBO experience yet. Definitely bring plenty of groceries and fill up the gas tank as you get close.

The BEST Mountain Getaway!

We spent a long weekend at the property for a bird hunt with Wes Hodges and to enjoy all the area has to offer. The hosts were extremely helpful and communicative, but even more, the house was amazing! The property is nestled in the mountains and right alongside Craig’s Creek. The house and property looked brand new - super clean and stocked with anything you could need. The property, amenities, location, and hosts make this the perfect getaway! We’ll definitely be back!

They have been renting Cottage on Craig (the sister property) for more than a decade and decided to build Serenity on Craig to accommodate their growing family as well as the needs and desires of their guests.
