Welcome! It's time to come out of hibernation and getaway to the Bear Den Cottage. The beautifully decorated cottage will be your home away from home while tucked away down a dirt road, surrounded by wildlife and conveniently located near Lake Wallenpaupack, breweries, restaurants and hiking trails. Enjoy the easy access; convenient location and entire private property during your stay.

The cottage is located on a private dirt/stone road please bring a SUV as the roadway conditions change.

During your stay you will enjoy the entire well-appointed private cottage with contactless self check-in.

* Winter* During snow conditions I have the road plowed to access the property. Anticipate snow during your stay and that four wheel drive will be necessary to access the cottage along with snow conditions at the property. Shovels are provided if needed. Expect snow and icy conditions.

Wonderful stay!

We had a great weekend in Tafton at the cottage :) Not too far for groceries etc. and Promised Land State Park is just 15 minutes away. We’ll definitely be back!

Great getaway

My 2 sisters and i booked this cabin as a fall foliage getaway and were not disappointed!! The Bear Den Cottage was very clean and well kept, beautifully decorated and a comfortable stay!! We will DEFINATELY plan a trip to stay next use!!!

Relax to the max

We enjoyed every minute. Everything we wanted was close by. We were very content just staying at the cabin and enjoying the space inside and outside. Look forward to another visit.

Close to lake

House was quiet nice little piece of property road was rough but there were big rain storms before we arrived. Houses around the property vacant very run down. Overall nice little house to hang out have a fire and be with a couple close friends. We mostly were on the lake fishing in our boat

Family trip

Contacting Steve is easy, the only thing I will suggest is that they need to get new mattresses (my back still hurt from that), and they need to get those mice’s out of the house, other than that is a nice place to stay.

Very clean and quiet retreat

Steve’s place is incredibly clean and well maintained, inside and outside. The woods surrounding the house are quiet and pretty. Games and Netflix made my kids happy. Great coffee machine and accommodations pleased the adults! Will definitely return!

Cozy layover

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night. We didn’t get to fully enjoy the place because of having limited time. However, the time that we did have there was very enjoyable. The house was very nice, quaint, cozy, and comfortable. Steve was very accommodating with enabling us to check in early. We would definitely stay here again.

Our Stay at Bear Den

We enjoyed our 5 days at the Bear Den. It was very relaxing, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed using the fire pit and the grill outdoors as well. A true pleasure of the location was being surrounded by birds and bird song during out stay.

Perfect getaway to relax!

The property was super clean, quiet and serene. We truly enjoyed our stay so much so that we booked again! The location is perfect we enjoyed the breweries and the beautiful lake. Anyone looking to escape should definitely check this location out!

Cozy and Quiet

If you like a quiet area with deer roaming around without an apparent fear of humans, this is perfect for you! The place has been updated and feels cozy. We both like how the living room was decorated to make it feel homey. We will definitely stay here again when visiting the area.

rustic and relaxing

It was so clean with adorable touches in the home! The patio was perfect for a glass of wine in the evening. It was close to everything, but quiet and relaxing. The shower was a bit small for larger people, but beds were very comfortable. The list of places to eat and explore was really helpful! We found so many great spots to eat!

Nice little Cabin - perfect for a quick getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bear Den - we didn’t have snow like we would have liked but it was such a cute little property. Being decorated for Christmas was an added bonus!

This property was very comfortable and clean. The little extra touches like rolled towels and candy on each bed were absolutley charming. You had wines available and fresh cold water in the fridge. It gave the whole place a very comfortable vibe.

Wedding weekend

The home is very well kept, quaint and was located very close to the venue we were attending. The owner had left a list of hot spots in the area, treats and other small niceties. We really enjoyed our stay.

Girl get away

We had fun keeping occupied inside. The weather was cold and rainy due to tropical storm, so we didn't get to do our outside activities we had planned. The cottage was decorated nicely with cute seasonal touches. Over all me and my friend had a nice stay

Hello I am Steven and I would like to welcome you to my happy place. Bear Den Cottage was created to share with guests the wonders of this great area and the peace that it has brought us. Our goal is for you to reconnect with the outdoors and breath in the spirit of the lake region.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I started enjoying the outdoors through tent camping and overlanding. Over the years I upsized to a camper and was introduced to the Lake Wallenpaupack area by wonderful friends who are now our extended lake family.
