Cute and cozy 2 bedroom 1 bath cabin. Single level cabin tucked away in a beautiful quiet canyon. This lovely cabin is approximately an 8 minute drive from Cloudcroft. Make sure to bring the kiddos because they will love the playground outside. Drink your coffee on the deck and enjoy the wildlife. Make sure to check out Mountain Paradise 2 if you need more space. These two cabins are right next to each other.
Looks good on the outside but inside had multiple issues. Broken pic frames on the wall broken wall outlet plates floorboards holes in the wall and ceiling. One room was missing a heater called the owner and was given a very dirty heater that had seen better days. Turned on all heaters and tripped a circuit breaker. Owner came to fix and said we had to many things plugged in. Has a tankless water heater that gave only cold or extremely hot water. Maintenance came the next day and showed us the trick to get warm water from the shower. Owner offered to refund the first nights stay but have yet to receive it. WiFi password was different than listed on the router. No instruction book to help with all the issues. Owner boasted about getting 5star ratings but reviews show different. Owner did help jump start my truck but overall a very poor experience
Great little cabin in the woods, nice playground on property for the kids and plenty of outdoor fun around. You need a 4x4 or truck to access property on top of hill. Check in and check out could be easier, maybe a lock box instead of having to travel so far to pick up and drop off keys. Some form of trash receptacle would be easier than having to bag up trash, put in in your car and drive it all the way into town. The heaters are not adequate for the space. Other than that it was a great experience.
Overall, the location and property are ok. Shower was broken, had to use tub. You have to find the good spot in order to be able to enjoy hot water, communication with property manager is not that good
The cabin was in a very nice and peaceful area. It was nice and well laid out. It was clean, however; the previous guest smoked in the unit which left a strong smell. The team was great and very accommodating.
Just what we expected from the reviews and listing. The fans were dirty, but the overall cabin cleanliness was fine. We were there hoping for the slopes to be open but we had a great sledding weekend instead. Beware that the water can get hot, but isn't that a plus? Really had a great time at this cute little cabin. You should have a 4x4 as this cabin is at the top of a steep hill. The staff was all really nice too!
We loved the location of the cabin. Out of town enough to feel a little secluded on a hill but close enough to shopping and restaurants. The cabin is nice but lacked a few special touches. It had a coffee maker but no filters. Not a big deal, we went to Dollar General and bought some and some coffee since all we brought were Kuerig pods. Couldnât find any trash bags to change out the trash in the kitchen. After 4 days it was full. When we got there we only had one roll of toilet paper for 4 days and 3 people. So we went and bought some. The hot water heater is hit and miss. It goes from scolding hot to ice cold at any given moment so be prepared. The heating source is borderline sufficient for the size of the cabin. We just layered up on clothing and added blankets to the beds. The lighting in the cabin is pretty dim but again, we managed. Overall the stay was good and we adapted and made it great. We would consider staying here again if some updates were made.
My husband and I needed a break from the chaos of city life. We found this cabin in the woods that is perfect! Spacious, clean and warm inside. We enjoyed the peaceful sounds of nature and the views are spectacular. Not far into town, we visited the Western Bar and little shops. Drove to Alamogordo, did some hiking. For two days we were in paradise. Highly recommend for couples or a family. There is a big playground in the back yard, pretty đ
The fans were caked with dust. Like if I turned them on Iâm sure it would look like a dust storm in there. The whole cabin looked like it was cleaned in 10 minutes. It takes a good hour to try to shower, because the hot water heater will go from warm to completely ice cold, and doesnât heat back up until about 5-10 min later and then it comes back SCOLDING HOT to then immediately go back to freezing. The shower head has ZERO water pressure. So your standing there in a trickle trying to warm up. Iâm glad my kids didnât bathe first considering this, and after my husband and I suffered through it we didnât even give the kids a bath at all since we were only there one night. The cabin is freezing because it doesnât have adequate heat a small electric fireplace is the only heat source. I felt like a block of ice and we didnât even visit during the cold winter months THANKFULLY. Have fun trying to cook at night because there is hardly any lighting. Iâm thankful we only stayed one night because my back felt like it was broken after sleeping in the bed. I guess the property can sleep 6 if you donât mind sleeping on the couch. Other wise itâs two queen beds and one cot. There was a roof leak at sometime, and I guess they just decided to paint over it instead of fix it correctly
as there was just paint hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen. There was a ton of trash and toys around the property. There were rugs thrown out by the cabin, toys shoved underneath the deck. It felt like someone woke up decided they didnât want to live there anymore and just threw everything out. Overall Iâm really disappointed for the amount I spent for one night. It isnât a lot, but then again it is when everything is mediocre. This definitely wouldnât be my first choice the next time my family and I decide to leave down for a couple days. Could use a lot of improvements, and a house cleaner.
