Beautiful villa with pool and countryside views, 12 minutes from historic Uzes
Le Citronnier is a 12-minute drive from the exquisite, historic town of Uzès, past apricot orchards and a Natura 2000 protected lake in the ancient village of La Capelle et Masmolène with its 12th century château.
The house sleeps 6 with 3 double bedrooms ( 2x 1.60cm beds, 1x 1.40cm bed) and 2 full bathrooms with shower and bath in each. There are two separate WCs.
The living room and one of the bedrooms open directly on to the heated salt-water pool (8x3.5m), a third bedroom has its own private courtyard.
Facing due south, the house has uninterrupted views past the pool and over the fields, where FanFan the friendly donkey lives!
The house is on one level so good for the less mobile. We have hi-speed internet and TV/Netflix etc. There is a ping-pong table and boules available. Towels (including pool towels) and sheets are high quality and the kitchen is equipped for the best of cooks. There is a gas BBQ outside and a shady terrace for dining as well as another shaded area to sit and relax.
There is room to park two cars in the drive. We are at the edge of the ancient village so it is very private but not remote.
Uzès is a wonderful town-it’s famous in the area for its Saturday market and there are great restaurants in the town and there is a friendly, very good restaurant in our village too.
There are many well-signposted walks as well as rock climbing in the village and you can go horse riding from stables a five minute drive away or kayaking on the River Gardon. A tree walking/adventure park is nearby. There is a tennis court in the village. The nearby village of St Quentin La Poterie has dozens of art and ceramics galleries and the breathtaking world heritage site of the Pont du Gard is a few kilometres away.
Avignon- with its stunning Palais des Papes and famous bridge is reached in 40 minutes as are Nîmes, Arles and Orange with their spectacular Roman amphitheatres. If you would like a trip to the beach the Camargue is just over an hour away by car.

We are English but split our time between our home in Brussels and La Capelle et Masmolene. I am a former journalist and my husband is an actor.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
La Capelle et Masmolene is an ancient village. There is a Roman chapel, a restored windmill and just across from the house a 12th century chateau where the Bishops of Uzes once spent their summer months.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
The house is on the edge of the village which means there is perfect privacy and wonderful views over the countryside and just FanFan the donkey to talk to! But if you want to have a glass of wine or an excellent dinner, it is a short walk to le CapMas, the village bistrot.
