Find your beach with Kona Beach Properties! This oceanfront property offers a nice view of the ocean and of the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Royal Kona Resort next door. The ocean is teeming with life! Sit on your lanai and watch spinning dolphins year around and humpback breaching just offshore during the winter and spring months. Colorful reef fish, turtles and eels find plenty of sustenance in the tide pools. Wake up and fall asleep to the calming sound of the ocean.

This unit is beautifully updated. Featured amenities include central AC for those extra warm nights and high speed wifi, a necessity for "working" remotely where Zoom conference calls may be necessary. This units also comes equipped with beach chairs, towels, umbrella, and a small cooler for guests use. It may or may not have some snorkel gear that was left by previous guests. We do not provide snorkel gear. Non-fitting snorkel gear takes all the fun out of snorkeling, so it is best to rent your equipment while you are here.

Hale Kona Kai is a special complex right on the ocean in the heart of Kona. It is a short walk to anything you need; restaurants, entertainment, shopping and beaches. An elevator provides easy access. The property boasts a heated salt water pool and BBQ area. Laundry rooms are available on each floor.

Conveniently located

The condo is nice and clean, if a little dated. Most conveniences are included (couldn't find a can opener is all). The lanai was wonderful with an ocean view. Laundry on each floor and was available when we wanted it.

Just what we were looking for

Wife and I stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time. Our plan was to have breakfast in and make sandwiches for lunch while we were out for the day, and dinner out locally. We were able to do it all. The apartment has a full, small, kitchen (even had a coffee grinder), a balcony where we ate breakfast, a dedicated parking spot, and a great location. We were able to easily walk to a number of restaurants and shops. It's about a half mile to the farmer's market. Bed is comfortable and plenty of room for 2. Had an early dinner at a restaurant just down the road and saw two whales just off shore! Overall, highly recommended.

Very very dated. Bath matts were gross. Lanai furniture should be raised so you are not looking through railings. Couch needs replacing or new cushions. Love this complex .

Limited Air Conditioning

The unit was in ok condition but smelled musty. The biggest issue was that we lost central air conditioning half way through our 5-night stay. It would not be able to be repaired until the next week. The managment company was very responsive and set up a prortable air conditioning unit but is was very loud. I asked to managment company to ask the unit's owner for some type of compensation but no luck. Although the managment company did what they could to help the sitution, we still had to adjust our schedules to make time for the instalation of the portalbe unit. In hind sight if we picked a different rental in Kona, we would not have had to deal with the hastle, phone calls and adjusting our schedules on the trip.

Big Island Getaway

This was our first visit to the Big Island and we were delighted with the location of this condo. We loved being able to easily walk to Kailua with it’s fun restaurants, shops and wonderful farmer’s market. The condo was equipped with everything we needed, easy and friendly check in and lovely balcony where we could take in the gorgeous Hawaiian sunset. Would stay here again!

Very Good

The location and condo was everything we expected. The kitchen was well stocked, the view was great. There is a newly added AC system which cools the bedroom quick and efficiently. It was great having an assigned parking space, so we always knew we could park event when Kona was busy.

The condo was very clean and had everything we needed but it was a bit 'tired'. The appliances were fine but the unit in general needs some updating in terms cabinetry and furnishings as this would have made the stay even more pleasant. The bedroom and bed were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well.

Amazing

Hale Kona Kai was a wonderful property. Our unit faced the lagoon and ocean and you can see and hear the waves crack. The unit was very private and had all of the all of the amenities needed to make our stay a great. The condo is walking distance to Downtown Kona and the best part only a five minute walk to 'on the rocks'! We used the pool several times and there is plenty of lounge chairs to take the sun in. We will definitely come back to Hale Kona Kai.

Excellent location & views, very nice place

409 is top floor which was quiet, away from the full front ocean view but has a partial ocean / small cove view that is stunning nonetheless and wonderful surf sound. Effort's gone into Hawaiian decor. A few updated things (deck chairs, bed) and some retro things awaiting upgrade (fridge, kettle, stemware, main table) all serviceable but ready to be refreshed. Manager onsite and quick to respond to questions. Super handy to several excellent restaurants (walking) and the main strip in Kona Kailua. Good parking.

It was a good property for the price

This condo was in an awesome location, it is a little bit dated, and the cleanliness inside the room could maybe have been a little better? But overall it was a great stay . One thing we didn’t like was the washer and dryer Were both operated by coins, and there was no cash to coin dispenser on the premises at all. So we had to constantly go into town to get change converted. So if you stay here make so you bring plenty of quarters.

Have stayed at Royal Kona numerous times in the past and wanted a bit more room this time; condo was perfect. Love the view and lanai. Elevator needs work - was jittery at times and one of us got trapped for several minutes when it seemed to go dead at one point. 3 rating on mgmt communication cuz we asked several times (incl. before start of trip) about a late check out and never got an answer. Would definitely stay there again.

Cute little place, great access to everything. Only issue was that they advertised Central Air and it was broken. they did have a portable unit in the bedroom that worked tremendously well, for the bedroom. everything else was very warm. In conversation with the property manager they said it has been out for a month, we should have been notified as our unit gets no ocean breeze. The unit had everything you need for Hawaii and the owners that we met were very nice and welcoming. We had a fuse blow and one of the owners that resides there was able to get it fixed, not the property managers who we tried to contact.

Really nice small condo on Ali’i Drive just south of town. Beautiful view from the balcony and a lovely pool area. The building itself is looking a little dated but was very clean and the residents were very nice.

Staff was upfront about the fact that the air-conditioning for Hale Kona Kai was out and awaiting parts. The owner however has a portable air-conditioner that worked great. The unit was clean and had everything that we needed for the stay. The view was great from the balcony and it was nice to sit and have the cup of coffee in the am and the glass of wine in the pm. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay again myself.

We liked the people that were owners of the property, they were extremely friendly, helpful and a real pleasure. when we arrived we had no Central AC, when we called they said it had been out for a month and that we were notified. we weren't notified and it was a huge disappointment as we face the north so we don't get any breeze. the facility was great, no Central AC, they did have a portable unit in the bedroom that worked well but the remainder of the property was warm the entire time of our visit.
