Riverfront Log cabin called the Hideaway with a sleeping loft, it sleeps 3 in the loft area and also has a reclining loveseat. Stove, refrigerator, and microwave in the kitchen. Hot tub is just off the deck that sits on the river.
We do not provide firewood or charcoal for the grill. If you plan on using the fire pit or grill you will need to provide your own supplies.
This was our second time staying at this cabin in Derby. We love how cozy the cabin is and the views of the river are incredible. The town of Derby itself is wonderful as well. The General store is well stocked with fresh food and the people could not be more friendly. The local tavern also has excellent food and service as well. We will be back for a third trip sometime in the future!!!!
Really enjoyed this riverfront cabin. Hot tub was warm and inviting. Had many outdoor fires in the firepit and cooked on the ledge. All cooking amenities present. Enjoyed the outdoor swing. General store right close for any additional needs. Cabin was perfect for a couple. Would definitely return!
Super cozy and rustic cabin. View was outstanding and everyone in Derby was so friendly. Both town stores were adequately stocked with local delicacies. Tavern food was great as well. We WILL be back.
We stayed here about 10 maybe 12 years ago
Loved it then too. Found it by accident this time. Loved it this time. Missed mot seeing the register we signed the last time
Everything was accurate as listed. We had 100+ degree temps, and the AC was glorious! The hot tub in early am, view was wonderful! There weren't neighbors so we were secluded. The ladder was challenging but fun! I Have a new knee, but did it! Place may be old but no leaks throughout thunderstorm. It was perfect for us!
This was a quaint little cabin. The downstairs area was very clean feeling with newer wood floors. Upstairs was what seemed to be a full size bed and a twin bed in the loft. The stairs and railing are very open. The bathroom was fine with a curtain door, but the shower is pretty small. My biggest problem was that the cabin is not very private and the majority of the curtains were see thru. Sitting on the porch and watching the Ohio R. was nice. It was a highlight when the barges went by! Getting out of the parking lot we scraped the bottom of the car several times, so be careful! Overall though, it was a nice little cabin.
Check in was easy. Loved the little cabin on the river. Watching the barges traveling up and diwn river. Had a campfire, grilled steaks. It was a wonderful relaxing stay.
My father and i stayed for a long weekend. We really enjoyed the property and spent some good time on the porch watching the barges. Walking down the hill to the pub was an easy trek and we did it each day. There are several trail heads within a few miles that we also hiked.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Beautiful setting, poorly maintained cabin.
Only sleeps 4 if your 4th is your pet as the couch is mostly all that
it's good for. The loft stairs are hazardous with, who knows with carpet nailed/glued to narrow planks. My daughter planted it the first night. Cover to the hot tub is broken and once wrestled off, had to be left uncovered for duration of visit. Oh and, bottom step leading to hot tub almost had us falling several times.
Lastly, I am a first time Verbo renter so, when I saw messages regarding wifi passwords I wrongly assumed it was available here.
When we got here and called, host was rude and challenged me to show him where he had ever advertised . Very put off by his attitude.
the way down to water was very scary and the dock was unusable. but everything else was perfect and we love to visit again. It was very exciting to see all the parks around the cabin and the view was fantastic. We are looking to move down around the area. Again thank you for letting us stay in your cabin!
