Spent a great five days at the property enjoying the deck and the river. Bud was super nice and very responsive when contacted. Would definitely stay here again.
We were all coming from different directions. It was a nice place to get together and catch up. It was February so no outdoor activities. Hot tub was clean and relaxing. Would stay again.
Our family stayed over Memorial weekend and enjoyed every minute. Room for everyone to gather or have a moment of peace away from each other. Only complaint-mattresses are hard.
This property is just as advertized. Plenty of room for a large group to have space. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck watching the boats on the river. We hope to stay at this property again in the future.
Great place to stay. The view of the river was wonderful. Enjoyed the sunrise over the river. We especially loved the bathroom outside of each bedroom. We loved the large dining room table that the 12 of us could eat around together. Bud was very friendly and urge us to call him if we needed anything. Dennis
The house was very nice. I think some of the furnishing need an upgrade. I would also like to see a dock by the river. Not a boat ramp, just someplace to pull up and park if you bring a boat.
Very nice location to get away from everything, very private. There are spots to visit if you don't mind a 30+ minute drive to each spot, but at least the roads are very scenic to drive on. Very nice people nearby and Bud was very nice to work with. The interior of the cabin could've been kept cleaner as their were spider webs in some spots. The appliances inside could also use an upgrade, especially the washer and dryer. The TV upstairs is a bit small, but the one downstairs is a good size for the room.
Very welcoming interior, two balconies for outside fun with a hot tub that worked on the lower balcony. Wish we would have had more bird seed to refill the feeder though. Loved the four separate bedrooms with individual bathrooms. very nice long table with 10? chairs for meals, crafts, and visiting. Walkable to the river for driftwood fun. Take binoculars. Glad I had a pair for the giraffe. Downstairs is difficult to access for handicapped guests with a metal spiral staircase or wooden outside steps however, easy entry and roll-in shower is available in one bathroom. Cell service not great (go to the top of the hill for reception) which turned out to be important due to a family emergency with delayed notification. It did turn out okay thankfully but really make sure to give an emergency number (owner's) just in case. We had fun and enjoyed the house amenities.
We choose this place because of what beds were listed in the description and how it would work with the 25 of us going. When we got there the beds in the rooms were nothing like they said they were online. Where there were supposed to be queen beds in two rooms there were twins with the king beds. There was a cot to use but it was falling apart so my son ended up sleeping on the floor because it was more comfortable. Honestly all of the beds were super hard and uncomfortable, the most comfortable beds were the two leather futons that were new in the pool room, all the other beds were quite terrible. The dryer took 3 run throughs to get clothes semi dry and the bathroom in the basement had water leaking down from the shower above when someone showered in it. The river was beautiful, and there was a lot of pans and things we needed in the kitchen to use. Overall it gave us the space we needed for our family reunion and everyone had a great time, it was just had to sleep in the crappy beds.
THE LOCATION IS VERY PEACEFUL ON THE RIVER. THE ANIMALS YOU SEE ARE AWESOME, A LOT OF BIRDS, SQUIRRELS, ETC. THERE IS A LARGE KITCHEN TO COOK IN WITH A LARGE TABLE. THE LIVING ROOM AREA DOES NOT HAVE A LOT OF SEATING. IT SEATS 5 ON A COUCH AND A LOVESEAT. THE CABIN IS VERY WARM, I WAS SURPRISED IT KEPT HEATED SO WELL. THE HOT TUB WAS NICE. POOL TABLE WAS FUN BUT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM TO PLAY A REAL GAME TO GET ALL ANGLES/SHOTS. THERE IS A NICE WASHER AND DRYER TO USE. THERE IS TWO DIFFERENT DECKS SO PLENTY OF ROOM FOR A LARGE GROUP TO SPREAD OUT OUTSIDE. I HIGHLY DOUBT THIS SLEEPS THE 20+ PEOPLE UNLESS THERE ARE A LOT OF KIDS OR SMALL PEOPLE THAT COULD FIT 3 IN THE 2 BEDROOMS LISTED AS KING BEDS. THE OWNER IS VERY NICE AND WELCOMING. HE SEEMED TO BE OPEN TO ANY COMMUNICATION. THIS IS NEXT TO A BOAT RAMP SO ANYONE WHO WOULD WANT TO BRING A BOAT IT IS A PRIME LOCATION LIKELY FOR FISHING. THE HUGE BARGES THAT COME THRU ARE SO COOL TO LOOK AT ALSO.
I feel the description of the castle and its accommodations were on point. Nothing to do with the castle itself but Ticks were an issue. The beds were not the most comfortable- but not the worse either. A futon was broken and unusable- this could have been an issue if we had been expecting to use, the door racks to the ref. were missing, icemaker didn't work and dishwasher seal was lying inside (we didn't use). We had plenty of toiletries, towels, dishes, cookware, grill gas, dish soap, body soap,as well as extra blankets and pillow for 1 person not sleeping in a bed - There was not enough if there had been a full 26 people. There were other available amenities as well- Hot tub (it was used by some, but the water did have an odor to it), The pool table was crowded by furniture and a little less easy to play a real game- needed more pool sticks. We really had a great time. There was alot of seating on the decks and a large dining table in cabin- Made for awesome family time. There were a few small issues that we reported to Bud- He was easy to reach and provided answers to all our questions. The only thing that I was disappointed with was that I was paying for a cabin to sleep 26- Then after payment, I was sent another bill for there being more than 2 people. I was not happy about that at all- It was for 26 and no additional fee should have been called for.
From arrival to departure our stay at the Calucci Castle was magnificent. The host, location, tranquility, beautiful sunrises on the Ohio river and overall experience was above our expectations. Thank you Bud & Michelle!! â€ïžđ
It was a girls' weekend. Staying at a nice quiet place with an awesome view was our goal. We really enjoyed the deck. There was a great view, nice breeze and lots of stories being told. Bud and Michelle made everything easy.
The cabin was amazing, it was the perfect size for us and it had beds for all of us to stay on. Bud is amazing and really easy to communicate with. He stopped by one day to say what's up and see how we were doing which was awesome. Directly behind the place is a nice mom-and-pop tavern where all the locals go. A bunch of our friends went there and couldn't stop talking about how friendly everyone was. Overall it was an amazing time and we will definitely be coming back to Magnet IN!
Magnet Indiana is a gem. I would hope that it could be kept a secret ⊠to continue to enjoy the calm and quiet. Bud has a fabulous gem of a castle. It just needs some gentle, loving care. Loved our stay. Thanks Bud
This place was very nice, had a great view of the river, and had plenty of amenities to keep our group of 10 entertained for the weekend. Bud was very kind and communicated well ahead of time with any questions I had. Highly recommend!
