Our 1926 cottage is a secret Zen retreat! It is nestled in the hills below Topanga and surrounded by sounds of nature & lovely views. Every guest seems to find a spot to fall in love with! Retreat offers a spacious cafe style lit deck with amazing views, succulent garden, gorgeous deck off main suite w/ vast views, a calming study to read in & a tranquil meditation style loft. The newly renovated kitchen creates an amazing culinary experience. Steps away from hiking trails & minutes from PCH.

Natural light filled rooms inspire our guests to open the windows, turn on music and be in the moment. Fabulous windows throughout the cottage create such a perfect energy.

Three bedrooms all with a Zen vibe, a peaceful study & office space, cozy living room and chefs kitchen are what make up your unique stay at the cottage. It is a space of respite, calm, reset and sweet reminders of being in the moment.

Make yourself a morning coffee at the cafe bar, enjoy the sounds of birds chirping on the deck and head out to start your day off right. Whether its hiking, biking, going to the beach, shopping, eating some of the best food, or relaxing... it is all just minutes from the treehouse.

Our little cottage is the recipe for a perfect start to the day. The treehouse is centrally located to amazing restaurants, boutique shopping, endless hiking trails and beaches.

Upon your return to the treehouse, the decks are the perfect place to enjoy golden hour with your loved ones. Sip on a glass of wine, under the cafe lights, as the breeze fills the air and good conversation fills your soul. Evenings under the stars become the most memorable ones.

Such a beautiful space! My spouse, two kids and I loved our stay at the treehouse. The house feels quiet and serene, but is super close to all the Woodland Hills amenities and Topanga Canyon. The kids loved hanging out in the loft space! Highlights include the full stocked kitchen, gas grill, beautiful views and the upstairs Toto toilet! We would love to stay here again.

Pre wedding home base for son’s wedding

The inside was immaculate and had a very spa like vibe. Aptly named Zen treehouse it was a really cozy and quiet environment. Outdoor space was also wonderful with several areas to sit and chill enjoy the views. Instructions for check in were clear, kitchen very well appointed great to have gas grill as well. Great to have the carport as well

Just wow.

This is our second stay at the Zen Treehouse. I actually don't want to write this review, because I want to book this spot for every time I visit L.A.. AJ has thought of literally everything to make the stay easy and relaxing--- including the kitchen being fully stocked. What else can I say... the furniture is plush, the outdoor spots are bathed in sun, with birds chirping, and beautiful views. She was warm and responsive when I called with questions. Relax and enjoy!

A world away

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Zen treehouse, and it was truly a magical experience. The lovely and natural surroundings immediately caught our attention upon arrival, and the impeccable design of the house created a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. What made this vbro truly special was our host, Aj. She was the perfect host, going above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. She even surprised us with a Christmas tree, which added to the overall warmth and coziness of the house. It was a delightful and unexpected touch that made our stay even more memorable. The location was also ideal, as we were close to all the amenities we needed, including great restaurants and shopping. But when we sat and looked out at the trees, we felt like we were a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This space was truly beautiful. Absolutely dreamy. I wasn't to be in the hills but was still a plus. The view was stunning and i would wake up every morning just to watch yhe sunrise. I was not ready to check out.

Charm and Relaxation

This August, my family stayed for about a week at AJ's Zen Treehouse Retreat. It was ridiculously charming and full of small touches that made it easy to enjoy ourselves. Stocked with every kitchen gadget you can imagine, a sweet gift bag, and a gorgeous deck, we spent time reading, taking in the views, and exploring the area. Highly recommended.

Our stay at the Treehouse met all our expectations and helped us regain our composure. The house is nestled in trees and the neighborhood is so tranquil that you have the feeling of being alone in the woods even when having coffee on the deck. The cottage was ready in time, the guidebook explained everything in details and made it easy to quickly get acquainted with the dishwasher, TV and all amenities. Everything worked as described and nothing was broken, iffy or sub-standard. Anneliese did everything to make us at home by connecting with us prior to our arrival, writing a nice welcome message and even offering thoughtful gifts to improve our experience. She did not have to do any of this but her kindness and thoughtfulness is reflected through out the house. If you take the time to contemplate the decoration, the materials and attention to details you realize that it did not happen overnight. All of it took time because she cherishes her house and wanted to create a warm and cozy feeling that you can’t find in modern condos. We are very grateful to have had the chance to stay in her Treehouse. Thank you Anneliese.

Treehouse Retreat

This home is a serene retreat with all the comfort and amenities needed for a weekend or longer stay. The windows and natural light are wonderful for viewing wildlife; and decks and terraces beckon you to linger with morning coffee, or late afternoon cocktail. For those coming from out of the area, the hillside canyon neighborhood is peaceful and quiet (no traffic noise). Perfect location to stay if you plan to explore Topanga Canyon or head over to Malibu.

Zen Tree House up the Stairs

it's a lovely space, the only real problem was that my daughter wanted to bring over her Grandma, but since there are steep steps coming from the garage or entering from the street above she was unable to negotiate the stairs. But unless you have an issue with going up and down stairs you should be 100% happy :-)

A must book!!

This place is magical! The vibe of the entire property is lovely, bright and uplitfing. There is such wonderful attention to detail and use of space, which makes the energy flow so well that it feels good anywhere you choose to enjoy a moment. The neighboring town of Topanga was so enjoyable as well. Great food, cool artistic area with fun shops. AJ's recommendations in the welcome book were top notch! Peaceful experience

From the moment you step up into the garden, you are literally transformed. The place is incredibly clean, incredibly peaceful and all your needs are carefully thought out. We had a great experience for the few days that were there. Plus, awesome water pressure, a bidet, wonderful art and an all around calming and relaxing atmosphere.

Inspiration Awaits!

Highly recommend! Perfect location tucked into a hillside surrounded by mature Aleppo Pines and Live Oaks. You truly feel isolated with plenty of options to just sit down, relax and focus on what matters. Great kitchen! The succulent gardens were amazing! One of our favorite VRBO experiences to date! (My wife and I traveling with our 18 year old and 12 year old.)

Serenity in the woods

First of all AJ is the most responsive host I've ever worked with! I had to change the date of my stay and she made it so incredibly easy for me. The place itself is just lovely. Perfect for a getaway to reset, meditate and unwind. And the location is gorgeous. Feel so remote and yet it's a hope skip and a jump to anything you would need convenience wise. There is an abundance of excellent kitchenware, fluffy towels, comfortable linens and the place is impeccably clean. Just book it. Thank you AJ! xo

Beautiful and peaceful

This house is even prettier than the pictures! So cozy and quiet with so many thoughtful touches to make you feel right at home. Love the decorating and aesthetic. Very clean. The beds are super comfortable. AJ was available and attentive when needed. We would definitely return.

The tiniest of details are attended to at this beautiful home. It’s like you walked yourself right into the pages of a magazine. I was born and raised in Los Angeles. I am an Angelino through and through. I strongly believe in surrounding myself with beautiful spaces and creating special memories with my family and friends. Whether it is traveling the world, skiing 70-100 days a year, exercising often, raising my 2 daughters...I do my very best to make each day count.

I get such joy from hosting people at my property. I love connecting with guests from all around the world. I take such pride in providing a memorable experience to all who walk through the door of this special retreat.

Please do note that there are a lot of steps (40) up to the property. In case you have a heavy luggage.
