Meander your way down a private lane lined with blackberries and large shade trees, to the Blue Gate Cottage. Established since 1910. The cottage is a studio style with full kitchen (no oven). Comfortable sitting area to relax and enjoy the peaceful nature of this location. Cottage is very well appointed with everything you need for a restful getaway. There is a automatic gate & a 1 mile gravel road to the property. The Rogue River is a mere 75 yards from the front door. The side nearest is fairly shallow for wading. the deep fishing hole, (the beginning of Salmon Alley) is on the far side of the river. There is some sort of fishing year round on the Rogue, such as Salmon, Steelhead and trout. There is a lodge close by on the property as well, if you have a large group these can be incorporated together for reasonable but additional costs. (VRBO#1857863). There is another rarely occupied residence very close by but behind a row of trees, The way the homes are situated on the property you still have your privacy. You will feel as though you are miles away from all life's stresses. while we do allow pets, we do charge an additional fee of $50...there has been a problem with pet hair on the furniture, which takes twice as long to clean...so if you have a pet keep them on the floor or there will be an additional furniture cleaning fee. many places don't even allow pets for this reason, but we figure that if you left him at home you'd have a kennel fee so paying an additional fee here is a way to spread out the responsibility. many thanks. Late note: due to cat damage we donât allow cats
We really enjoyed the serenity of this property; it was close enough for us to take an easy drive to Crater Lake and still be home in time to use the charcoal grill to make dinner and eat by the river. Also I highly recommend going into Central Point and having grilled cheese at the world-famous Rogue Creamery!
Great location right on the river. House well stocked with extras if you want to cook/grill without going out. Town just 10 minutes away. Very quiet as the whole local area is non owner occupied. Good communications with host. Would stay there again.
So grateful for the quality of this place that takes pets! When someone is staying in the Lodge next door itâs good to at least meet each other, and cooperate to share the outdoor spaces. Plenty of room for everyone. Lovely part of the Rogue Valley.
A quaint cabin for two in perfect space if you like to be isolated from hustle and bustle. Beautiful river and sunrises. Close to fly fishing boat ramps.
Comfortable bed and furniture. Adequately appointed kitchen for two.
Thank you
We hope to come back again.
A family with a new baby attended a birthday party involving the Lodge next door, also a VRBO property. Their baby was celebrating his first birthday, and his great grandmother staying next door was celebrating her 87th birthday. These two venues were perfect for the occasion. The setting was beautiful, there was plenty of room to relax with full kitchen access. You can't go wrong renting these two Rogue River hideaways together!
This cabin was perfect for our needs. We were in the area for an AKC hunt test. The property is beautiful, quiet and private. The cabin had everything we needed. Bed was comfy. Great wildlife watching. Good communication with the host. Thank you!
A great place if you are looking for a quiet place along the river the cabin is a small one room cabin with everything you could need in the place . It isnât a luxury hotel but it is exactly what it says it is . I loved it the bathroom is small no sink and the shower I could barely turn around in but it was so special absolutely a gem if you are wanting to get away from it all!! The gravel road is about a mile long but it was easy to drive down I would stay here again with out hesitation !!!
The cabin was very neat and tidy. Comfortable bed and everything you need. We made dinner in on our first night and used the cooktop. Visited Crater Lake which is fairly close. Ate at a great cafe - Betsie's on the way back. Our only negative is that there is another larger rental pretty close to the cabin, so it's not exactly as "private" as the picture seems. A multigenerational family was staying nextdoor during our stay.
This was fishermanâs paradise. We came for the solar eclipse and wanted an extra activity in case there was cloud cover and the eclipse was a bust. The property far exceeded our expectations. It was well off the highway and quiet. The cabin was about 100 yards from the river and the fishing was good. Hooked into a lot of trout and a steelhead. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We might come again.
After turning off HWY 234 and entering the gate code, there is a mile or more of one lane gravel road through woods leading to an intersection with a sign with an arrow pointing to Rushing River Lodge - take that fork. Another quarter mile and you are there, cottage on the right with the River in the distance. Fully equipped with all you really need, with the possible need of a larger pan for cooking pasta and a larger frying pan. We would like to return.
This was an amazing place to stay; its CLEAN, the bed is comfortable, the place is tucked away/quiet, and its by the river. The ONLY thing I was upset about, was the one mile road, to get there. No one mentions its full of potholes and somewhat treacherous, for the car. Dive SLOW and steady. Once one gets over the surprise of the road conditions, you'll fall in love
We had a fantastic 3 day stay! The cabin was everything we expected and more. We had a brief power outage the 2nd morning which wasnât an issue. We will be back!!
We were smitten with the river! And the huge deck! Perfection. We had a Blast! Even though all the county was out of electricity for a few hours it did not dampen our joy
Very cozy, very clean, good bed, comfy sofa, warm and comfortable cabin. Deer roam freely, ducks and geese play in the river. The Rogue is gorgeous, and the entire setting is extremely quiet and very beautiful. We were greeted at the gate every morning by a very curious rabbit, we named Jack. In the evening four beautiful bucks entertained us as they crossed the field. We would love to come back!

We have kids & grandkids in the Rogue Valley & were so lucky to find this property with such a historic past. We spend as much time here as we can, but it's been so popular we're usually just here in the off season.
