Oh man. Jackâs Cabin is so cool! We didnât want to leave. Everything was super clean, the accommodations were above and beyond. It was like staying at a family cabin. The special touches of the family pictures and story behind the place made it extra interesting. Weâre already talking about coming back up asap.
This was a perfect location for us. Hubby had a great time fishing no problem with the neighbors dogs I was able to go see all my family and friends. We will be back again.
Beautiful location on the Wisconsin River. Sunrise didn't disappoint. Lots of nearby attractions available but also enjoyed just watching the fish jump, squirrels leap from tree limb to tree limb, and the River just pass by.
We stayed for 5 days from Duluth with our two boys. We knew we'd need the quiet of the cabin after the water park and adventures in the Dells. Very cozy, a/c was a big plus as it was so hot! The mosquitos are quite bad but not much anyone can do there. Bring your bug spray! I caught a 4lb bass right from the shore using a popper. I loved the family feel of the cabin, the pictures and the diaries. As a Master Gardener I was pleasantly surprised but all the grapes growing around!! We will absolutely be back!!
It was very nice but allot of mosquitos we couldnât really fish and the dogs none stop barking it was a bit uncomfortable but yes it was a relax weekend
Great place for our little family with 2 small dogs!! Lots of bugs but we were warned in advance, bug spray was our best friend. Great location, we were able to easily visit Devilâs Lake and the Dells. Cabin had everything we couldâve needed for our stay. We would stay again, thank you!
the location and cabin were wonderful. The check-in process was difficult, and I ended up having to stay somewhere else the first night. The host, however, followed up with me late that night and I was able to check-in the next day.
The cabin was fantastic! It was perfect for our 3 day weekend. I was amazed at how clean it was and everything you need is provided. Dogs next door were a little annoying otherwise everything was perfect. We will definitely be back!
Our family group was small with just four of us. Three adults and a 3 year old. We just wanted to get away for the weekend and stay somewhere quiet and cozy. We came up from Illinois and the drive was easy, and while there are a lot of backroads thereâs also plenty of signs to make it easy to get to Jackâs cabin. We did get a warning before we came that the mosquitos are fierce and yes, thatâs true but we came well prepared (with bracelets and spray) so they werenât a bother to us. This home is exactly what we needed, so cozy and comforting in its simplicity. The backyard is so amazing spacious, and the river view is breathtaking. Waking up the birds singing in the morning and the water rippling by was calming and beautiful. We will definitely be back!
Unfortunately our days were in the 90s with dew points in the 70s! BUT, the river was what we came for and it was great. We found so many animal and clam tracks. Caught lots of fish too small to keep. Found some tree frogs and cicadas. The dogs ran and played and swam!
We have been coming to Jacks cabin for many years, and no we are visiting with a grandson. Although our last visit was a few years back, we were happy to see no much has changed. Itâs a perfect quiet getaway close enough to the Dells to make day trip. Itâs always a perfect visit! Thank you for all the memories!
Everything was great. Everything worked. Ample firewood. Dogs only bark when you arrive, then theyâre quiet. We had 8 in our group, our 25th consecutive year of camping in the area, but this our first house as we tent camped b4. 6of8 want to return. 2of8 didnât like dealing with the mosquitos. I still give it 5 stars because the mosquitos are everywhere along the river, regardless⊠John Love was responsive and kind. Thank you John for sharing your familyâs history and perfectly secluded home. -Rob.
This property was purchased by my grandfather, John V. (Jack) Cairns in 1944. I spent weekends and summers there from the time I was five until I enlisted in 1968. I lived there for two years from 1973 to 1975. My grandfather willed this property to his daughter, my mother, who willed it to her four children. The only one with any personal interest in keeping the Cabin was me, so eventually I bought them out. I maintain it as a rental to pay the bills and keep it up.. John Love
