This little cabin in the woods over looking a prairie is a great space for travelers that like to be cozy and secluded.
Just 5 minutes from the city of Baraboo and 7 minutes from the Devil's Lake State Park entrance. It features modern comfort for solo travelers or couples.
Guest access
A private driveway will lead you to the cottage, which is surrounded by woods and prairie. There are 30 acres of woods and prairie with established walking trails that you can hike or stroll through. Very private and enchanting! There is a parking spot provided for you about 300 feet from cabin. If you arrive late at night, it can be very dark. We suggest using a flashlight or your phone to navigate the path safely. Easy self-check-in system with door code. Bring firewood if you plan on having a fire in the fire pit.
Other things to note
We are so close to many amazing activities in Baraboo and the surrounding area. I have provided a list of some of my recommendations.
To lock the front door when leaving, close the door securely and press the padlock symbol on the keypad. You should hear the door locking.
Fantastic visit! Since it rained for most of the weekend, we werenât able to explore much but the grounds were beautiful. Check in was smooth, all the appliances worked. Check out was easy which made it very stress free. Weâll definitely be back!
Perfect place to get away from it all. Tucked in behind an old farm, down a path in a meadow, with a view of the setting Sun. The 'cabin' is actually a 'Tiny house' much like a RV, but it is a small house. Much more solidly built. Full real knotty pine interior, very nice. Has a standard trailer type floor plan, with a small bathroom at one end, and bedroom at the other. Very cozy. Had a big thunderstorm at night, and never had a worry. Tucked in the edge of woods next to the meadow. Left the window blind up, and watched the lighting while laying in bed at night.Plain to stay here again, it is our kind of place and owners are great. Not too many disadvantages, the walk to the cabin could be a challenge in bad weather. They do have an aluminum garden cart for you to use to take your luggage to the cabin.b The floor plan in cabin is tight compared to regular cabin. The AC is not ducted, the unit is in the center kitchen room, and doesn't reach the bathroom or bedroom. But if you leave the bedroom door open and set the fan at high with a low setting like 69, it works well enough. Just be sure to get it going right away. There is heat in every room, so no problem in the winter. Otherwise, just a great place. The the trails in the meadow and woods have so many interconnecting trails, it would be easy to get lost. Didn't have time to walk them all and want to, next time. Very close to Devil's Lake State Park, but still need a car.
The Little House provided me the transition from tent camping to the feeling of camping without all the worry and work. Check-in was simple. The kitchen facilities and related equipment were perfect for my menus. I was comfortable in both the bedroom and bathroom. Though it is a little house, Iâm not- little, 6â6â 302lbs, think a GB Packer left tackle. The location provided excellent access to my search for wineries, breweries, and distilleries.
Beautiful location, lovely pine walls, we live in small house, but this cabin could have been a tad larger. we were tripping over each other. extremely well kept, prairie outdoors is gorgeous, love the philosophy of the owners would likely return, emailing to contact the owners was a bit difficult especially when wifi didn't always work
Great, very clean, cozy Little House. Gorgeous piece of property. Front deck is great for dining, morning coffee, evening cocktail. Has all the amenities you will need. Definitely will be back.John and Laurel are very nice and Ding Dong is a treat.
My stay was wonderful! I love the tiny house and the property -- so lovely to watch the sunset over the prairie and explore the trails on the property! The tiny house is so cozy and has every amenity. I loved the bedroom and the bed was super comfy. John was a great host. I highly recommend staying here and plan to be back again myself!
Unit & property were better than advertised. Owner fixed "no hot water" issue promptly, which occurred after 9 PM...both were completely unexpected and appreciated. The paths through the prairie and woods were so fun to experience as well. Highly recommend!
Me and my husband loved this place on the prairie. It was very serene. We walked the trails in the forest in the back of the house. Very clean and stocked with everything you need. Close to so much hiking and restaurants. A very beautiful piece of property
Enjoyed our time here! Recommend arriving before sunset to allow for easier navigation as surrounding streets are not well lit. Host was very warm and welcoming and came out to greet us. The spot itself was nice, cozy, and clean. Appreciated that appliances and decor were high quality and did not skimp at all on quality.
We have nothing but praise to give to John and his wife. Nothing short of excellent. Wish we could have stayed longer. Will be back. We felt well taken care of. Laird and valaria
I cannot recommend this tiny home enough! It was so perfect - stocked with everything you might need, very clean, and in the most serene spot. To hear the sounds of nature all around and to see the most beautiful view when you walk out the door or open the blinds was such a grounding experience for us. We hope to be back soon!
Greatly enjoyed staying on this property and exploring the acreage. Located a short way from Mirror Pond State Park, Devil's Lake and downtown Baraboo. Be religious about applying your big spray during the skeeter season.
This cabin was absolutely wonderful home base for our for our girls weekend to Devils Lake area. We loved coming back to such a quiet, tucked away place that was still close enough to all of our adventures. The cabin itself was beautiful inside and perfect for preparing light meals and enjoying the beautiful prairie views (and mowed walking trails) or an evening bonfire. 5 stars all around and canât wait to stay again!
