Welcoming brand new private basement suite with trendy decor and style! The one bedroom spot offers so much more than just that. You will have full use of the open shelf kitchen, perfectly setup cozy living room, spacious full bathroom, breakfast nook, and laundry room if needed. Any couple, working professional, or small family / group of friends would love the stay here. Not to mention the great location convenient to all Baltimore attractions. Plenty of parking available.
The hosts were so so nice and understanding! I traveled to Baltimore alone, they made me feel so safe and the property was beautiful! I couldnât have asked for anything more!!
Great place and stay! Hosts were fantastic, very genuine and helpful! Whenever I had a question, they responded very quickly. Thank you, Maura and Pete!! Would gladly stay there again !
Quiet, clean, and in a safe neighborhood that is close anything we needed. We used as a home base for sports events my youngest had throughout July in the surrounding area and it worked out great! This is our second time at the property and would definitely stay there again.
Enjoyed our short but sweet stay. Everything was as described. Questions were answered promptly. Basement apartment was cute and cozy. Would definitely stay again.
Booking with Pete and Maura was incredibly easy and so will absolutely do it again. They were very communicative, the property was exactly as described, and very clean. Perfect place for a quick getaway or an overnight stay.
Really appreciated the proximity to the University. Owner were very responsive and the unit was clean.
Just a heads up, the ceilings are very low. My husband is a little over 6 feet tall and had to duck down at some points (but the owner did make us aware of that), so for one night it was OK.
This property worked perfectly for our team who was attending a show in Timmonium. Pete and Maura were great with communications. Traffic noise was a bit loud but that was minor compared to the positives of the property. We would book again.
positives.
This place is just as advertised! Comfortable and well appointed. I enjoyed that there were all the appliances and utensils we needed, including a measuring cup! We also really appreciated the coffee and tea set up, including creamer, sugar and Splenda. It's so nice to be able to make coffee in the morning.
The bed was very comfortable and even though it is a basement apartment, there are still a couple of windows, so it doesn't really feel subterranean.
Good water pressure, and the linens and towels are bright white! Shampoo, conditioner and body wash was provided as well which is so nice.
Great smart TV, comfy couch with throw blankets for cuddling up and enjoying a movie.
The communication with the owners was clear, detailed, and they were very responsive.
We will definitely stay here again!
Basement apartment. Uncovered garbage by entrance, flies, torn screens, bed? Clean kitchen
I rented the property because I was traveling with my dog and they listed a fenced in veranda. After I paid online I was told of an additional charge for my dog as high as $75. The veranda area had a hole in the roof and torn screens. Open garbage, (no covers, torn bags) with flies by the entrance. The bed had a huge lump in the middle and something granular on the sheets. Kitchen and living area very clean, but worn furniture. I emailed owners and got snippy response, but they waved the pet fee.
We stayed 2 nights, using the unit primarily as a pet friendly place to sleep. We did not use the kitchen area or laundry. Everything was as advertised, and the unit was clean and comfortable. Maura was very quick to respond to our few requests. She made the entire process very easy.
At six feet tall, the only challenge I faced was remembering to duck my head when walking under a low section of ceiling running across the middle of the unit. Everywhere else I could stand fully upright without difficulty. Maura advised us of the issue at check-in, but I didnât always think about it. Shorter tenants wouldnât encounter this issue.
The only other unexpected thing we encountered was the occasional sound of footsteps coming from rental tenants walking in the unit above us. We could not hear their voices. During the activity of the day, the sounds werenât all that noticeable. In the quiet of night, however, they were easily heard.
All things considered, the convenience of the unit made our stay worthwhile.
The unit is located in a converted basement. It is accessed through steep 29 inch wide stair. There are two 12 by 24 windows located five feet above the floor. The one in the bedroom is blocked by the outside stair railing. The one in the living room slides open, resulting in a one sqft opening. There eis no other emergency exit. The landlord did not respond to my question about fire escapes
The unit has a comfortable bed, a nice shower and a great tv.
There is much room for improvement:
There is no display of emergency contacts
The first aid kit was at best half full
The toilet paper holder was ripped out of the wall
There were several dirty dishes
Only two knives and forks were supplied
The closets were exceptionally untidy
The drawer tops were sticky
Also, the unit was exceptionally noisy I measured over 70 db whenever water was running or the ac was on
Finally the ac was running almost all the time. Unfortunately there was no thermostat in the unit. I asked the landlord to turn off the ac. She did. But it started up after 10 minutes.
In summary I would not recommend this rental.
While the rental was very clean and neat with many amenities, there were some things that were not mentioned in the listing that would have made a big difference in our renting. It was listed as a basement apartment, but it has no insulation between the upper and lower floors. Therefore, with the guests that were using the upper apartment during our stay, every time they walked through their unit it made a very loud thunking noise in our basement rental. This occurred whenever anyone was upstairs and at all hours of the day and night beginning at 6 am and ending most days at 10 or 11 pm. (It was similar to the Geico commercial with the reference to clogging.) It is very understandable that there should be some noise but we expressed our annoyance to the owner and was told that if it wasn't during quiet hours (9 pm or later) that they wouldn't do anything about it. Also, when we arrived at about 3pm in the afternoon the apartment was freezing cold, in the low to mid 60's. We contacted the owner and it was fixed, but we found out that there was no way for us to regulate the temperature, it had to be done remotely by the owner. It was amended to some extent, but because we had no direct control, when I was up at 5 am it was very cold until the heat came on about 7 am. The vents they speak of only brought in cold air so you definitely would not want to open them for any heating. The location is ideal, and parking is good. If you are looking for the outside sitting area, it is a concrete wire enclosed area that when we were there was storing trash and debris. There was no seating available. While the listing looks wonderful online, the owners need to be more forthcoming with the details so that their renters aren't blindsided like we were. We wish them much luck.
We stayed for 3 nights while attending a dog show at the fairgrounds. Everything was close by & easy to find.
A wall hook or two in the bathroom would be nice to hang clothes on while you shower. Otherwise, we completely enjoyed our stay.
The basement suite was comfortable and cute. Stylishly decorated, clean and a fantastic stove/oven! Gas range in a small, but functional kitchen. Perfect for a couple! Great use of a small space. The best part of the stay was the communication with the owner. Peter was quick to respond to questions and requests. He and Maura own a couple of properties. I will definitely look into any of those properties for my future visits to Baltimore.
