We had a fantastic stay at Lake Crabapple. One of the best stocked kitchens we have seen in a rental, and the view of the lake canât be beat. Kids and adults alike enjoyed all of the water toys!
Beautiful, spacious and confortable! Gordon and his family have gone out of their way to make sure that you have everything you could possibly wish for to make your stay stress free and relaxing so you can concentrate on just enjoying!
Very little has changed about the property since we began staying here several years ago -- a fact that is welcome to us, since the property was nearly perfect back then. Gordon has completely changed out his old dock for a new, modern, and much more stable one. He has added a ladder to assist users getting in and out of the water. Everything was ship-shape this year, Gordon was as helpful and friendly as ever, and we were totally happy with our stay on Crabapple Lake.
Beautiful and peaceful stay at Crabapple Lake, slept well and got to wake to mist on the water and reflective time in the sunroom. Kayaking and paddleboarding right off the dock, blooming lily pads, wonderful!
Our stay was perfect and relaxing, as we've come to expect since we started coming here three years ago. We got to see an eagle close up on our last day, arguing with an osprey over some bit of food. Pretty awesome. It's so nice to know that our host maintains the house so well that we never have to think about problems while we're there, just relax and enjoy the peace. We hope to keep coming back for a long time!
My daughter asked if we could come back every year. Clean, spacious, comfortable beds. The lake view is beautiful. Every thing was perfect! It is even nicer than the photos
Even though it rained most of the three days we were here, it just served to make the house seem cozier. The lake view is lovely regardless of the weather, and the house is so well appointed and maintained that it's a pleasure to spend time in it. Can't wait to go back!
The home was beautiful, clean and well supplied for our needs. The host was accommodating and helpful but gave us plenty of privacy. I loved the deck and sunroom with windows out on to the quiet lake. We had wonderful views and bird watching. Also the home was centrally located to Whidby Island, North Cascades NP and Marysville/Everett, without being in the middle of town. Truly a great place to stay!
Having now stayed here in all four seasons, I can honestly say it doesn't matter what time of year you visitâif you're looking for an immaculate home with a gorgeous view surrounded by peaceful acres of woods and no noise, this is the place to come. If you're a piano player you probably noticed in the photos that there's an upright piano in the entry hall; it's a wonderful find that you don't usually see in vacation rentals. Just be sure to bring music with you if you want to play, as none is kept at the house. Gordon has been a very responsive host and does a great job of maintaining the house, answering questions, and making sure his guests are comfortable. We plan to return frequently!
Usually I come here with a couple of friends, but this time I came by myself for some quiet time to get some work done. It was my first time here in the off-season, and even though it was chilly out and rained most of the week I was there, and there wasn't a single person out on the lake to watch, the utter peace this place always brings makes it well worth visiting no matter what time of year it is.
What a blessing to find this lovely home with sweeping views of Lake Crabapple from every window. All the siblings and daughters of the bride, our daughter, were able to be together for the weekend. And after the wedding, the house was ideal to host visiting family and friends.
The kitchen was well stocked and roomy enough to gather around the island for snacking and chatting. The bedrooms were lovely and comfortable. A definite A+!
We're constantly amazed that, even though it's a mere 30 miles from where we live, this special place seems like a world away from everything. Just one more reason to love staying here. The only season we haven't been here is in the middle of winter, and the only reason for that is that we don't want to take a chance on getting snowed in and unable to leave...wouldn't that be a tragedy! (Heck no. We would love it!)
For the past few years, we have rented a house in the Seven Lakes area near Marysville for our daughters and three grandchildren. This was by far the best experience. The house was big enough for us all, and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time hanging out in the sunroom, and one evening enjoyed quite a light show with the thunderstorm. The outside area was really nice too. We paddle boarded and paddle boated, Kayaked and did a little fishing. My 4-year-old grandson said making s'mores in the fire pit was the best. We definitely hope to make a visit to this home an annual event. And lastly, I would like to thank our host, Gordon, for being so quick to help us with our questions.
Wonderful lake views from sunroom, master bedroom, deck, and lawn! Entire family utilized provided watercraft: pedal boat, paddle board, kayaks, canoe, and float tubes. Great dock to get in/out of canoe, and in/out lake for swimming. Took walks down quiet neighborhood roads.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!!
We wanted a short fresh-water swimming vacation that was easy to reach from our island home, and we found it three years ago on Crabapple Lake at this property, so this was our third time staying at the property. In addition to a stunning location, the house is in wonderful condition, and includes every amenity we needed and desired. The home is kept in excellent condition by the owner, who lives next door and is a great host who was friendly but not intrusive, conversational but not too chatty, and very helpful in every way imaginable. The property is located in a pristine, forested setting, right on the lake, with a new dock that is exceptionally well-built. We had access to a paddleboat, kayaks, row boat, fishing gear, water toys, and even a paddle board. In addition to all the toys, we were treated to visits by a Great Blue Heron fishing in the shallows in front of us, bald eagles soaring overhead, damsel flies and dragon flies in abundance, and tree frogs croaking gently in the forest. We have already booked our stay for next August, which should lend weight to our sincere enthusiasm about this enchanting property.
I come to Crabapple every few months with two friends for a crafting getaway. It's the best place I've ever been to unwind--little noise except for birds, extra-dark nights for good sleep, a lovely, well cared for house to stay in, and a wonderful host who is very responsive.
This was our second stay at Gordonâs lovely home. We once again had a wonderful stay and thoroughly enjoyed the lake, thanks to all of the fabulous water toys! We will be back!
We loved this little slice of heaven. Swimming, paddling, kayaking in the nice clear water, very quiet and peaceful, bald eagle sightings daily. House gets lots of light which is wonderful in the evenings. Fully stocked kitchen and a new Weber BBQ. Nice grass area for outdoor games. Loved the Sun Room, spent most of our mornings and evening chatting in there or on the deck. Loved every day!
More beautiful in person!! Even though it is 4 hours away from our home we cant wait to come back!! We want to at least a week next time. Owner was very responsive and helpful and kind. Everything was the way it was described. Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal. Plenty of towels, blankets, outdoor activity supplies. Beds were comfortable and even games and game systems! Love it!
