Charming & bright 3-bedroom cottage located across from the authentic covered Henry Bridge! Newly renovated this past summer of 2021 with all new furnishings & fresh paint. Open kitchen with large butcher block and dining table set for 6-8 guests. Regulation sized pool table & sectional couch in the spacious living room with a full downstairs bathroom. Upstairs youâll find another full bathroom & 3 large bedrooms. Outside is a quaint porch with a rocking chair & view of the Henry Bridge.
The house was prefect for my birthday trip with family, friends and my fur baby. It was much bigger than I expected and very clean and homey. Everyone couldnât stop talking about the finishes on the house! Look forward to staying again!
Nice, large, welcoming house. Loved the pool table. All the lights were on when we got there. So many games we didn't even have time to watch TV. Showers are huge and beds are like sleeping on a cloud. Looks like there are walking paths, on the grounds, but it was too cold to go exploring. It was snowing when we left, but it would have been nice to curl up on the couch with cocoa and read a book during the snowstorm. Very peaceful and quiet. Would definitely go back.
Our stay at the Henry House Cottage was wonderful. We couldnât have picked a better spot. The cottage is located on pristine grounds. There were flowers everywhere and the lawn and plants are impeccably maintained. The house was truly spotless and very comfortable. Rebecca was a pleasure to deal with as she and Tom were quick to respond and ready to address any of our concerns.
The proximity to grocery stores and other shopping was perfect just minutes away. The location of the cottage was also close the highways for our shopping and entertainment expeditions further north. We are looking forward to coming back very soon.
I can't tell you how pleased we were with our stay here, but I will try. The rental is a model of what VRBO owners SHOULD do. So smart. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and makings for breakfast in the fridge - so even if you arrive late at night after groceries close you have an omelet and wine! Keurig and plenty of coffee choices available as well as kitchen equipment and basic supplies (oil, spices) for cooking. Even the bathrooms has shampoo, soaps etc supplied. The house is old and quaint but has been restored and cared for so is as clean and perfect as if it was just built. Bedrooms, bath were roomy and perfect. Our 20 somethings played pool and we all played board games too. Location was private but was just a short distance to town and groceries. We had a lovely time and would come back again, highly recommended!
If you are looking for a very special place to stay in a picturesque Vermont setting, this historic and lovingly renovated cottage is for you! It certainly was for us. Located right next to an iconic Vermont covered bridge and close to many excellent hiking and xc skiing trails, you just canât get better than this. We had a wonderful stay with our corgi pup here. The cottage is simply beautiful with real wood floors, an old fashioned barn door, tasteful farmhouse decor, comfortable beds, and a full modern kitchen with new appliances for those who love to cook. The pool table was fun, and there is good Wi-Fi and streaming service on the tv for those who want to relax inside. For us, it was a comfortable home base to enjoy the Vermont countryside. We took a peaceful hike on the Robert Frost Trail to a lake on a snowy day, reading his poems along the way. We enjoyed excellent xc ski conditions at Prospect Mountain Ski Center, and beautiful mountain views while hiking up to the Bennington Battle State Historic Site. The hosts are very responsive and gracious, and had excellent recommendations for nearby restaurants and a local brewery. We would have loved to stay longer, and hope to return to enjoy the cottage in the summer or during the fall foliage season. We highly recommend this special place. This is Vermont just as you imagine it, and more.
We chose this house for Super Bowl weekend to ski and get out of the city. We loved the house and the host was so kind, leaving us breakfast supplies, a bottle of wine, and some sweets!
The house setup was great for two couples but couldâve fit 4 more, we only used two of the three bedrooms. The entire house has been recently renovated but still manages to keep its farmhouse charm. The kitchen was great for the little bit of cooking we did. Everything was very clean and plenty of extra blankets.
The outside property was beautiful, the owners have a great spot for weddings in the side yard, back woods, and pretty patio.
Was only 10 minutes from downtown Bennington, 30 minutes to Manchester, and about 45 to Mt Snow. Loved Kevinâs down the road and Madison Brewery downtown for a bite and a beer.
Would love to come back for another stay!
Loved the cottage and grounds, more room than we anticipated - we'll definitely be back! Nice touches, breakfast food in the fridge, coffee and fixings already there - and the cottage itself was outstanding! And our Swissy loved the field and path!
This cottage was perfect. Historic charm with modern amenities. The owners did such a great job renovating this cottage. It was super clean and we were pleasantly surprised that they were so gracious to leave us a bottle of wine along with everything that we needed for a delicious country breakfast.
The kitchen dining area was so nice to cook and serve on the large island. The two bathrooms are beautifully renovated.
The living room with the pool table and games made for wonderful family time together while having enough seating to enjoy football at the same time,
Beautiful area to walk around and enjoy nature.
Truly lovely
Thank you again for sharing your wonderful home with us!
Perfect. That's simply the only way to describe our stay at the cottage. From the check-in procedure to the communication with Rebecca to the location, everything was fantastic. While Bennington is not a "loud" place, the cottage's setting just north of town is quiet and peaceful. The house itself is gorgeous with comfortable beds and spacious living areas (and the pool table is an awesome addition!). For anybody interested in traveling to Bennington, I would highly, highly recommend a stay here!
We enjoyed our stay in Bennington. The house was very clean and the owners were very welcoming, even leaving us coffee and breakfast food as well as a bottle of wine and some snacks. We were grateful to be able to bring our dog, who enjoyed chasing a ball in the large yard. Owners were very communicative and checking in/out was easy.
From the moment you walk in the front door you feel right at home. Rebecca, Denise and Tom have made the Cottage at Henry House just perfect. They have kept so many of the old farmhouse elements and added updated touches that make your time at the cottage such that you never want to leave. The house kitchen is very well stocked with everything you need to cook, the bedrooms are comfortable and decorated to the period and having two large updated full bathrooms makes it ideal for families. The grounds are gorgeous! You have the Henry covered bridge right across the road, and a view from your dining room and kitchen. The Henry House itself is so pretty to look at and the Hosts have transformed it into a lovely venue or place for families to stay as well. For all of you who bring your dogs, there is a huge field to run in as well as a park across the river. Please be sure to clean up after your pets. This property is pristine for a reason. To top it off we had a beautiful snow fall to make our Thanksgiving just perfect. We wish we never had to leave. We will return, again and again. Thank you. Rebecca, Denise and Tom
