The 1801 House: A beautiful historic home in the Ste Genevieve Historic District
The 1801 House is a newly renovated historic home that has kept it's unique style and charm throughout while boasting a modern kitchen and appliances. Whether you feel like making a full meal, baking a cake or cookies, or just baking a pizza or taking advantage of the romantic meals cookbook (in the island), you should find everything you need in this kitchen. Enjoy relaxing in the jetted spa tub after a day exploring the National Park Historic District or the many local area wineries, breweries, distillery, shops and restaurants. Come have your morning coffee or evening drinks on the wonderfully inviting covered porch as you plan your day or evening activities.
Loved our stay here. Quaint town, beautiful and well appointed home, and lots to do in the area - wineries, hiking, walks around town, hilly runs and nice restaurants. Weâd return!
Very clean and comfortable! Loved the front porch where we enjoyed great conversations. Lovely kitchen. Delicious pastries waiting for us. Would stay here again.
Our group of 6 had a fantastic stay! Well furnished, large kitchen, cozy spaces, and clean bathrooms just to top it off! We loved being able to walk to historic downtown and enjoyed the guest book with lots of fun recommendations. Would definitely recommend staying here!
The house is old but you couldnât tell that from the inside - it is clean and modern while maintaining the old charm with furnishings. The location is great - walking distance to historic sights as well as restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!
Great place to relax and rest. The area has many historical sites to see. The house was beautiful and well stocked! We had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.
Our last-minute decision to stay at the 1801 House was a great one! A lovely home with a great kitchen, greeted us upon arrival. The hosts were a dream to communicate with, and the house was impeccably clean. We hope to return.
We enjoyed staying at Marty and Jinettes. The house is even better in person. Loved the gooey butter cakes awaiting us upon arrival from the local bakery.
The house was perfect for a getaway weekend trip. It was great to be able to walk into town and enjoy the shops, locate winery and great food! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed the comfort of the home and the kitchen was amazing to cook in. We would be delighted to come back again with family!
I have stayed here twice and it's been wonderful both times. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and clean. It's also in a nice location (quiet neighborhood, close to the downtown area). The kitchen has everything we need for cooking at home. We also enjoy the complimentary treats from Pat's Pastries.
A couple unique benefits The 1801 House offers is it's beautifully inviting front porch as well as it's location. We are located within walking distance, just blocks, from the historic downtown area. This area boasts many historic attractions, eateries, unique boutique shops and of course local wines!
