You wonât forget the peaceful surroundings of this rustic destination. A former legendary high school hangout rebuilt and repurposed for the masses. This three bedroom log cabin is near many local attractions and yet nestled away for privacy and comfort.
We enjoyed this little property, it had everything we needed and have zero complaints. The beds were comfy. We didnât have any check out instructions-so we winged it, honestly the check out instructions at some places are outrageous. We brought two small dogs, and had all the amenities we needed.
Home is clean and had all basic amenities. Good location to access restaurant, etc. Street is very quiet. If you are in town to raft it was very close to Ace Adventure.
Nice cabin. Clean. Awesome game room. Responsive host. Perfect for large family and/or several adults. Large fenced yard. Comfy beds. Near Ace for rafting!
Property was lovely and so convenient to Ace Adventure Resorts. Took us just a few minutes. Drive to the activities. Owner was generous and allowed us in a few hours early.
We will be back!
We came to the area to go white water rafting and everything was as it said it was in the reviews, the pictures, the description, and the area. The home was clean and updated. There were plenty of towels and it was great to have 2 full baths. We drove separate due to work schedules and we were able to park 4 vehicles in the drive. We felt very safe and comfortable. Thank you!
We stayed at âThe Shackâ during the weekend of Bridge day. It was centrally located for hiking and a canopy zip line tour we did. The fenced yard was a huge plus as we brought our dog along and it gave her a place to run! We found the kitchen a little lacking and the Kuerig was not conducive to 4 people staying there. A regular coffee maker would have been better. Pillows were very hard and uncomfortable but everything else was comfortable. Overall, the cabin was comfy and served our needs well! Would recommend to anyone visiting the Gorge!
No tub stopper for the tub user in the group.
Burned out lite bulbs, front porch and one bathroom (above the sink).
Cobwebs in a bedroom when the drapes were pulled back.
Dirty glass on front and back glass doors (perhaps from a dog's nose?).
None of the coffee cups fit under the Keurik that was broken we discovered.
Dishwasher had not been unloaded from the previous guest's stay.
We could only find 1 bed pillow--we slept on what we call the decorative bed pillows, so did not sleep on a case covered pillow.
No extra toilet paper in either bathroom. Did find an open bag of tissue high on one of the closet shelves. That is where we found the one regular bed pillow.
No instructions as to how to work the TV. We had to call the property manager who worked very hard to make it work. He thought maybe someone was playing games on the TV and plugged things in wrong? We applaud his effort!
We appreciated our time at the house but were expecting higher quality and more for the price. The basics were there and it was clean and comfortable for the most part. The kitchen did not have many extra amenities one would expect in a fully equipped kitchen such as a colander, better and more serving utensils and the hot pads were thinner than a kitchen towel. Dishes left in the dishwasher were dirty on our arrival. The bed was nice but could use softer pillows. The pool table was in a terribly hot building separate from the house. It was nice having two bathrooms and the washer and dryer to use. If the price were lower, these things could be more easily overlooked but unfortunately it was definitely overpriced for what was there.
