Peaceful, gorgeous. The cabin has plenty of space, tastefully decorated. Really enjoyed late afternoons on the back porch watching the creek river flow past. If you plan on fishing for trout, you havec400 feet of river right in fronnt of Brown cabin. Otherwise find a different area. It was fine for us as my husband is a newbie. You can day trip to Blueridge, catch the scenic railway and wind up in McCaysville GA AND CopperHill TN. Blue ridge is about 35 to 40 mins away, Helen Ga is a little over an hour away. Dahlonega is about an hour away. So you have many places to visit, and ther are parks in the area, too with water falls. That is our next visit. Loaction is key with The Brown CabinEnjoy!
Excellent place to stay by the river with incredible Mountain Viewâs! We have stayed at several place in the north Georgia mountains and this has by far been the best one. We definitely will be returning.
A perfect mountain house on the Toccoa river! Plenty of space for everyone, the kids enjoyed competing at ping pong, fishing and tubing down the river! A perfect quiet spot with a spectacular view and with so much around, we visited Brasstown Bald, Vogel State Park, the swinging bridge, fish hatchery, down town blue ridge and lake blue ridge! All within a 40 minute radius!
I booked this place last minute I'm not sure why it was available. We had a blast fishing, and tubing the river. The fire pit was perfect for the early summer nights. Can't wait to book this cabin again.
This is a top notch place for a GA Mountain getaway. It was very cozy and you could tell that this is a happy place for whoever comes! Thoroughly enjoyed!
Loved being on the river! It was further away than we anticipated (20 minutes to the closest restaurant, 30 to the grocery store) layout of the house was great and property was beautiful. Kitchen needs some updating and several areas were quite dusty, toilet not cleaned and dog/cat hair in the coffee maker were quite off putting.
Perfect to get away and recharge with family and friends
Toccoa River Cabin was a great place for us to stay. It's about 30 minutes (give or take) from Blue Ridge and extremely peaceful. Living room was perfect for a marathon of movies and is stocked with a number of DVDs plus a Roku. Dining table was great for games and craft, again, a nice stock of games as well. Even with less than ideal weather, we were able to get out and fish on the second full day and caught 3 very nice trout on fly rods, landing one of them before releasing it back. Nightly had visits from a large number of deer in the front/side yards. Also saw the resident otter hanging around the small dock and playing in the back yard.Communication with the host was great - they were extremely receptive and always got back to us quickly with answers to any questions. Will definitely be back next year!
Beautiful home that is in a wonderful location! Caught a fish right off the bank behind the house! Easy check-in process and lock code. The kitchen needs some updated pots, pans, and other tools. Also, the blankets and comforters were quite dusty. Probably could do with being washed more frequently, as well as the beds that aren't used every rental. Otherwise, amazing rental home.
We experienced one of the best vacations here and canât wait to return. The hosts thought of everything to make our stay fabulous. Without hesitation we highly recommend!!
Cabin was beautiful, nice, and clean! Cleveland was kind and great at responses! Neighborhood was quiet, qaint, nice geounds, the river in backyard was great. Cabin has all you need!
My wife and I live in Gainesville, GA (a little over an hour's drive). We were approaching retirement when we bought this cabin. We are both retired (elementary teacher and pharmacist), and LOVE spending time at our second home. We know you will love it, too!!
We chose the Suches area to purchase our cabin because it is close enough to our home so that we can use the property, but it is remote enough to 'get away from it all'. This area also has all of the things that we enjoy such as hiking, kayaking, and trout fishing to name a few. We are also close enough (30 minutes) to golf, live theater, stores, movies, etc.
We love spending time in the mountains! Our property has 400 feet on the Toccoa River that our guests can use to catch trophy sized trout( catch and release) or just sit on the deck and watch the water flow by and relax. Excellent tubing and kayaking is right at the back door. Great hiking to numerous waterfalls, The Benton Makaye Trail and The Appalachian Trail are close by. We also enjoy viewing the wildlife! Deer and turkeys can sometimes be seen strolling the field in front of the house. Of course viewing the different colors of the mountain views is spectacular! Our cabin is large enough to accommodate our growing family, but priced so that it would make a great romantic get-away for a couple. We know you will love this area as much as we do.
