Beautiful 6200+ sq foot home located on two lots in the upscale Merifield Acres development in Virginia's only lakeside town. Room for one or more families/groups with two gourmet kitchens, beautiful sun room with a lake view, HUGE master suite, second master suite, two additional bedrooms (including a bunk room for the kids), media room, private office for those looking for a WFH vacation, high-speed wireless internet, cable TV, home gym, and rec room with shuffleboard and a pool table. Property also has a private covered boat dock, two grills - one on expansive upstairs balcony and one downstairs, and an outdoor oasis featured in Southern Living, Better Homes and Garden and more. For your added enjoyment, you are provided one pedal boat, one canoe, two inflatable stand up paddleboards, and life jackets (several universal and a few that are size-specific).

Huge place to relax and play

This house truly was so much more than we were expecting. There was an additional bedroom with bunks that was very helpful and TONS of spaces not really highlighted on the listing. It was an amazing place! We had everything we needed and the host was responsive.

Perfect stay!!

We celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary with our family. This house was perfect in every way! The recreational options were unreal! We had so much to do! The owner was so helpful, made sure our stay was wonderful, and provided a house that fit our family perfectly! We loved our weekend so much!

Anniversary Trip

The Barefoot Retreat and hosts were fabulous. This place had it all - welcoming, spacious and beautiful. The lake is secluded and quiet. When it was too hot, the game room provided ample entertainment. Two full kitchens was nice as well when your cooking for 14. Do your self a favor and book the Barefoot Retreat.

Amazing Lake House

This house has everything you would ever want or need. The house is beautiful inside and out, plenty of space for everyone the two kitchens came in very handy. More sleeping space than we expected and the lake is a very easy walk. Five stars ⭐️

Even better the 2nd time

This was our 2nd visit to Barefoot Retreat and we will definitely be back. The host is simply amazing. Super responsive and provides wonderful little touches around the house to make your stay super relaxing. The lake is simply beautiful, the dock has a very nice cover, host provides so many fun amenities both indoor and out. The only problem is time goes by so fast when you are having so much fun! Can't wait to return.

The perfect getaway!

Beautiful home and very scenic environment! Everything you could possibly want at your fingertips! House was well stocked with everything from toiletries, to amusement, to cleaning items, spices and many snacks! House was very spacious and large enough that 9 of us were not on top of each other! Thank you for sharing this amazing home with us! Great time was had by all! Management was tops and answered our needs very quickly! We will probably rent it again!

Always perfect!

This was our second year staying at the lake house. We absolutely love it. The floating picnic table and jacuzzi were both new this year. And we definitely made good use of both! Seeing as how we stay here and go to Blue Ridge Rock Fest each year and it got cancelled this year, we had PLENTY of time to enjoy everything the house had to offer. The hot tub was definitely the spot to be this year because the weather was nice and cool. We cooked family dinners, watched movies in the cinema room, and really just enjoyed each others company overall. We love the lake house. It’s our home away from him. We’ll be back!

Beautiful spacious home on Kerr lake

Perfect lake home for an extended family- parents with two adult children and their kids. The grandparents really appreciated the master bedroom, it was huge and down the hall so it felt like its own little apartment which gave them the privacy they liked. We brought our boat and the dock was really nice to park it and to spend afternoons. There were lots of toys to play with in the water, we enjoyed the inflatable stand up paddle boards. There were multiple places for our entire family to be able to sit and spend time together, the massive couch in the main level, all the seating in the movie room in the lower level and we enjoyed meals with a view in the dining room that had plenty of seating. The home is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood with great proximity to downtown Clarksville. We also appreciated the stocked towels (even designated lake ones) and kitchen. The pool table, shuffleboard, and large connect 4 provided hours of entertainment for the whole family when we were indoors. We enjoyed a wonderful vacation in this home and would definitely stay here again!

I’d have stayed forever!

If I could’ve stayed at the house forever, I’d have been one happy lady! I stayed here with 4 friends + my brother and they all agreed. When we arrived, we walked around and I swear we just kept finding doors and incredible features. It was the absolute PERFECT place for the 6 of us. The photos don’t do it justice. The hosts were always available to talk to if we had questions and they were so very helpful. If you’re looking for a relaxing oasis for you and friends/family, THIS is the place. We have already decided we will be back next year!

Incredible property on Kerr!

This was a beautifully expansive property with lots of things to do! From the movie room with popcorn maker, to the pool/shuffleboard table, to the two (2) kitchens. Master bedroom was huge! Property owners were very friendly and accommodating. This is the lake, with many woods nearby, so bugs/nats were around, but they didn't prevent us from having a wonderful time. We are planning our return trip, thank you!

Phenomenal home

This property has EVERYTHING you could possibly want and more. We loved the dock, the supplied SUP’s, the stocked s’mores bar, the movie room. Each and every other room. Such a wonderful time. We can’t wait to return.

Vic's Retirement Celebration

Couldn't have asked for more. The house was exceptional, well maintained, in a quiet neighborhood with very easy access to the water. I could say roomy but the house was huge. Game room and theater room provided evening and tiny day activities. Owners were very attentive and even checked in a couple of times to see if we needed anything. Highly recommend this house.

Beautiful Vacation Home

Candice was such an angel to work with. She was so incredibly accommodating. We had several families in our group along with an infant. We had plenty of room and had everything we needed and more! Words can’t describe how beautiful this house is. We had the absolute best time and most definitely plan to go back! You will most certainly not regret booking this beautiful property!

Above and beyond expectations

Well appointed house with lots of extras. Comfortable beds, kitchen has everything and more in like new condition. Billiards, shuffleboard, games and games. Movie room fun with popcorn maker. Outside fire pit with s’mores. House is on a big lot in a quiet cove of the lake. Paddle boat, paddle boards, canoe. Our kids had fun fishing off the dock and we all enjoyed swimming and floating in the lake. Thanks Candice and Gary for being such fantastic host. We will be back.

Veterans' Retreat

We are a group of Vets, mostly retired Army. The property is a perfect get-away. Had to go into Clarksville to get a good signal, but I look at this as a plus. Candice, our POC, could not have been more attentive. Pool table, shuffleboard with the "good cheese". dart board, etc. The place has everything and then some (Candy in the newel post? Really?) We highly recommend this property!

Barefoot retreat best house on Buggs Island!

We have been renting houses on Buggs island lake in Clarksville for 20+years now and this is by far the nicest house we have ever been in. The owner is amazing. The attention to detail was incredible! So many amenities that i have never had at a house rental : silk mask in every bedroom along with phone sanitizers, aroma spray, blue tooth speaker and cord to charge electronics, all towels supplied, k cups for kurig and nepresso machine, shampoo conditioner body wash in every bathroom and so much more. The game room was fantastic with a pool table, shuffle board, tv and great games like giant connect four , giant jenga giant Yahtzee and corn hole boards. Outside paddle board, paddle boat and vest. Great dock with shade. So many beautiful places outside to sit read and eat! The deer come right up to the house and bird feeders attracted so many beautiful birds. The out door fire pit for roasting or sitting and hanging out. Now we got there and the AC unit was not working ( Owner did not k ow it was broken) and the owner had the problem fixed immediately. Portable units wherever we needed and the entire house stayed cool. She more than compensated us! Very nice and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we could need. I rarely leave reviews but i was so impressed by this house that comes with everything and such a friendly and kind owner i felt i needed to. I’m sure there are things i forgot to add with so many perks to renting this house. I’m hoping to be back next year! Thank you Candece for sharing your beautiful home and making sure it was perfect!

My husband (Gary) has two children, and we have one additional child together. He is a forester and I am a civil servant. We love the lake and want to share a slice of our paradise with you.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This is our dream house. It has everything you could want and more. We love the dual kitchens. The media room and recreation room gives the kids (and those young at heart) space to enjoy some down-time. The gardens/landscaping make the outdoors a true oasis (the house was even featured in Better Homes & Garden and Southern Living) with the babbling goldfish pond - just beware, the sprinkler near the pond is motion activated so the local deer don't destroy it.
