We had a relaxing and peaceful stay at Soudan Cottage! The owners quickly responded to any questions/concerns we had. Sadly, (no fault of the owners), the water levels in the lake were extremely low and boating was not available as most boat launches were closed and docks out of water. Brought a whole new meaning to “dry dock!” Enjoyed our stay!

Another great trip to this cabin (3rd trip). It is the current favorite trip option for everyone in the family! The dogs love running around off leash and exploring the woods and beach, they were sad to leave. We enjoyed morning walks down the mile long driveway where there is nothing but trees, not a house in site. Then we walked along the beach shoreline for easily a mile since the water is down and there is more beach to explore than normal. This is the ultimate natural disconnect from such a busy world. If your looking for a perfect luxurious waterfront beach house with all the amenities then this is not it, (plus those are super expensive ). If you are looking for a well priced, nature oriented, sustainable, tech free(no tv but wifi), short walk to the lake, perfect trip option to get connected with family and nature, than this IS IT. We will definitely be back again!

This looks like a charming place. We rented it but when we drove the two hour drive to stay, the owner met us at the gate and shared that the solar power system was not functioning properly. It was in the 90’s and we didn’t want to stay with no AC. We ended up going to Gatlinburg. The owner refunded our money. I wish we could’ve gotten a call to let us know things weren’t working. I have a diesel truck and the cost of driving it two hours is a small investment.

This is our second trip to this beautiful property and we enjoy ourselves even more each time! The lake is currently down 10ft or so which leaves the dock out of water and 15ft from the waters edge, but creates a nice size beach for the dogs/kids to play on. This part of the lake is still plenty big enough where there was still a ton of water to enjoy. We loved walking the extra large beach looking for cool things and taking walks down the mile long driveway. The level of privacy and connection with nature at this cabin is unmatched! It has just enough amenities to be comfortable while being off grid and secluded. Excellent place to recharge for our small family! We will be back for sure!!

Property was excellent! Relaxing environment. Although only 700 sqft, it was well suited for our stay. The only thing missing was a full size couch - but the love seat was very cozy. I may have missed it but the instructions could be clearer regarding linens. Visitors need to supply bed linens, bath towels and kitchen towels.

This cabin is exactly as described. If you want to be away from people, Techno trappings and humanity in general to surround yourself with trees, deer and squirrels then this is your spot! Amenities are fine and few - but you are given what you need - do plan on bringing bed clothing and towels for the shower and extra for swimming. There is a floating dock a short, woodsy walk to the water and it is a perfect secluded area for swimming and taking in the beauty of the lake. Do pay attention to the power being used and if it’s warm - the top floor AC is enough to cool the entire house. If you are someone who doesn’t like bugs and critters maybe choose somewhere else - you ARE in the woods and there are bugs, spiders and ticks. The hosts are very easy to reach and got back to us quickly with answers to our questions. I recommend water shoes for the lake cause you never know where you may be sticking your foot, sunscreen and your love for nature.

Peaceful Stay on Buggs Island

This is the third time we have stayed at this property. We love that it is secluded, private and on the water. Our dogs love it here too.

Very clean for middle of the woods. Super private. Property was cleared of brush and trails were clean. Owner even cleared some trails for our jeep to go four wheeling

Great escape

My son and I were in town for a fishing tournament on Kerr Lake. The property was perfect for us. It is definitely off the beaten path, but we loved it. Couldn't use the dock because the water was too high in the lake, but we loved it.

Amazing Secluded Getaway

Amazing stay!! So clean and perfect for an off the grid getaway. Great fishing from the dock and relaxing bonfire area! Boat launch and Bobcat’s Bait and Tackle nearby for convenience Woodbine Vineyards and Bugg Lake Brewery are great little spots to hang out too! Highly recommend and hope to come back soon!

Wonderful Get Away Cabin

This was our 2nd stay at the cabin and we will be back. The cabin is comfortable and clean. Great private access to the lake and a private dock. Our dogs loved the freedom.

Quiet cottage in the woods, solar powered with a generator. Very peaceful and relaxing. Walk to the dock is fairly short. We brought a collapsible wagon, to tote chairs, cooler, and fishing rods , had no issues with the wagon on the trail. Highly recommend! If you are looking for peace and quiet and a place, this is your place! We will be back

Perfect “Off Grid” Weekend

What a cute little cabin in the woods! Exactly as described. The amazing weather made sitting on the dock was breath taking. If you are looking for seclusion this is it. We are very happy customers.

Lake time

Great retreat to peace and quiet. Beautiful little cottage with everything we needed. Spent the majority of our time enjoying the outside, wether it was kayaking on the lake or sitting around the fire pit. We’ll definitely be going back!!
