Wonderful place! Great location, easy access to everything. Beautiful view of the lake. We use a lot of vacation rentals and this place by far had the best stock of kitchen gadgets and spices you need for a small or a large family. House was very clean and very spacious. With twelve people we didn't feel cramped at all. Thank you for your hospitality!
The views were fantastic! The house was very clean. The dishwasher, however, had a lot of yucky looking water in the bottom so we couldnât use it. We ran out of hot waterâbut there were quite a few showering in a hurry. After all the added fees, the price was pretty hefty. While we would love to stay again, it is a bit above our budget.
Snooty goose was perfect for us. To our pleasant surprise it has 3 queen size beds in their private rooms and a great 6 bunk bed kids room! Plus all the sleeping accommodations in the living spaces. The kitchen was so incredibly stocked. If we thought we needed something it was there. Having 2 fridges was an additional bonus. We loved the private space with no neighbors and the woodland feel. The owners living in the basement apartment was not an issue at all. HIgh fives all around.
Our family had a great experience staying at the Snooty Goose. The views of the lake and mountains were amazing. The kitchen was well stocked (including two refrigerators and large pantry) with everything we needed for large family meals. We would definitely consider staying there again.
The owners are my parents Toni and Burnell. Mom was the third generation born and raised at Bear Lake. This brand new home is her lifelong dream, to build a home big enough to fit her kids and grandkids and retire at the lake. They live in a separate apartment on the bottom floor.
Note: Dad had a stroke this year he can walk, move, and care for himself just fine. However, the parts of the brain that control speech was damaged. They are slowly remapping but he will sound a little funny and can not get out full sentences. Please be patient with him, mom will do most of the talking.
The Smith Ranch has a long legacy in Bear Lake and was once over 10,000 acres. It has been in our family for over 120 years. However, generations later it is now just a few hundred acres split among extended family. It has not been actively ranched for more than 50 years. Enjoy wide-open spaces with very few trees to block the view of the lake. There is a small gully behind the house where deer like to get out of the sun. We do on very rare occasions see moose and bears so stay alert while walking around.
