Historical Hotel, Main Street Blowing Rock

A luxury, short term rental experience located in the heart of historic Blowing Rock, North Carolina. The Reinhardt Rooms, formally the Parkway Hotel, is newly renovated and decorated by acclaimed interior designer Molly Northern. The Reinhardt Rooms combine simple mountain contemporary design with a historic, southern hospitality and aura.

The Reinhardt Rooms are located directly in the heart of historic Blowing Rock. Stay here to be able to walk and explore our great hallmark town.

Unit No 1 is our second biggest space in the building. It is complete with a full living room with a pullout sofa bed, dining area, kitchen, washer/dryer, full bathroom, a bedroom overlooking main street, and deck access.

The Reinhardt Rooms are located Right in the heart of Main Street, Blowing Rock. Walk to any of the shops or restaurants in our awesome town. You can unload in the "Loading Zone," then park full-time in our reserved spot in the lifted parking lot behind First Citizens Bank.

Before booking our property, please read:
1. This is an extremely old building, actually it is one of the oldest in Blowing Rock (1924). It isn’t perfect. Sometimes the water takes a little longer to heat up and the windows leak during “gully washer” storms. With that being said, we love it anyway and are constantly making improvements.
2. We live in a true “hallmark” town. While it is an awesome community, calling someone to fix a problem is often met with “I can put you down for next week” (The sense of urgency is not always there).
3. This is not our full time job. We have other priorities including dogs, school, mothers-in-laws, etc. We will do the best we can if a problem comes up, but please know we have to balance a big family.
4. If you plan on staying with us during the week, please know that the building receives commercial deliveries Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. Often, these deliveries happen between 6-7am. They are not there long but it could be noisy. The overall street is very quaint but the building is situated near other restaurants that get deliveries throughout the week. Please let me know if you have any questions about this point prior too booking.
With that out of the way, we will do everything in our ability to make sure you have the best experience possible. Blowing Rock is an amazing place filled with amazing people and amazing things to do. We hope that you will give us a chance! -The Northerns

The hotel is located on Main Street so all shops and restaurants are a short walk away. We were there just before Christmas and Blowing Rock was extra charming. The apartment was big and wonderful. The stairs are steep and would be a problem for some people. We loved our stay!

I stayed with my mom and two kids for the weekend. It was very comfortable and the perfect location to walk to everything downtown and a short drive to go skiing. Austin was very friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed this location and living space. although would have preferred a little more working utensils in the kitchen such as ice cube trays and can opener. Thank you Austin for delivering the bag of ice so rapidly it was greatly appreciated. I give 4star for cleanliness because at arrival there was only 1/2roll of toilet tissue and one hand soap bottle that was almost empty. the hot/cold discs on bathroom sink handles both fell off when turning the water on. Small housekeeping notes that are easily addressed. Overall I would recommend and hope to come again.

Bright lovely space close to town

This was a bright, clean, very comfortable stay right in downtown Blowing Rock in easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Very beautifully decorated with lots of natural light! We enjoyed it so much and would definitely recommend to friends!

Charming downtown apartment

This was such a cute place to stay in Blowing Rock! The location couldn’t have been better for walking around Main Street, with plenty of shops and restaurants near by. The check-in process was easy, the designated parking spots were great to have, and the apartment had everything we needed for our stay.

Back Again!

This has become our favorite spot to stay when we visit our daughter at App State! The location is perfect and makes for an easy walk to everything we need in Blowing Rock. We’ve stayed at two units and both are very clean and well stocked with everything we need. There’s also fresh cookies! We can’t wait to stay again!

The smell and misrepresentation.

Great location on Main Street. Immediately walking into the stairwell to go to our unit, there was a very strong, unpleasant smell. The same smell was in the unit. We knew we could not stay there for three nights. I immediately called the host and he came over, but said he did not smell anything. After some negotiating, we were reimbursed for two nights. Host did try to put us in another of his rentals, but they were occupied.The picture of the unit looked WAY larger, and bright, on the listing. Luckily, we found another place to stay nearby.

This is a ridiculous review. I received a frantic call from Debra saying the room smelled “awful”. Immediately went up there thinking maybe there was a sewage leak or something, smelled nothing. I even had one of our employees from downstairs come up to make sure I wasn’t crazy- they too smelled nothing. Then she goes on about how I misrepresented the room through photographs- again, ubsurd . My guess was Debra either didn’t read our property description or just wanted a refund so she complained about anything she could think of. We gave her a refund, I helped them load luggage back into there Porsche and sent them on there way thinking we reached a compromising solution. Guess not. Oh, and the icing on the cake was that they were in the place for like 30 mins and still managed to stain a towel. Overall ridiculous people. God bless the property where they ended up going too.

We love staying in downtown Blowing Rock and being able to walk to the shops, park, trails and restaurants- this unit is right in the middle of it all! It is above Blue Deer and next to Mellow Mushroom. If you want to stay downtown then this location is perfect! The unit was nicely renovated and had nice little amenities like welcome cookies, a few k cups and quality shampoo, conditioner, soap. We enjoyed the little patio out back and the history of the building itself. Others mentioned noise which I think is to be expected given being on Main Street- we always pack sound machines when we travel so we had no issues. My only recommendation would be to pack an eye mask for sleep- the bamboo shades had no liner and if you have little ones going to sleep early the sun pours in. At night the lights from the shops made their way thru the windows as well and I was wishing I had an eye mask or the blinds had a privacy or black out liner. Final note is the stairs to the unit are narrow and steep- we ended up using the back entrance to haul our stroller in and out. If you have trouble with stairs this may not be a fit but was not an issue for us. Overall, great stay in a nice unit with thoughtful perks. Would definitely come back likely with just the husband and sans 2 kiddos ;)

Loved our stay in Blowing Rock. Extremely pleased with this lovely newly renovated unit. Beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable beds and bedding. We were worried that it would be noisy, but that was never an issue. Close to everything. This will be our new go to spot when visiting Blowing Rock.

Super comfortable! Beautifully and comfortably furnished. Slept great and the property has about every amenity you would need. Great location in Blowing Rock - the coffee and cookies downstairs were wonderful too.

After a six-month renovation process, we are excited to begin welcoming guests. My wife and I own and operate "Blue Deer" here in Blowing Rock. We currently run 3 locations with hopes of opening more soon. With that being said, we are committed to offer the best experience possible to guests of the Reinhardt Rooms. Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

R.S. Reinhardt Building ca. 1924
The R.S. Reinhardt Building was actually built by Lynn Lawrence’s grandfather, Everett Greeley Pitts. It was built for a Lenoir businessman, Mr. Reinhardt. The significance of this building is that it was Blowing Rock’s first post office. . It was originally a one-story building, built in 1924. It remained the post office until 1944. It was about that time they added a second floor, which provided 10 lodging rooms for the Parkway Hotel. The lodging rooms were upstairs, while the hotel dining room and coffee shop were downstairs, on the first floor.About three feet up from the sidewalk on the front of the building, there is a USGS marker that identifies the official elevation of Blowing Rock as around 3400 feet.

In 2021, the building went through a major reconstruction and renovation. Currently this historical property houses Blue Deer on Main, The Bee and the Boxwood, and the Reinhardt Rooms. The Reinhardt rooms were decorated by local designer Molly Northern with a theme of "Modern Rustic".
