This was a cozy, lovely cabin that made for a great place to stay for the weekend! The location was great, the cabin was well stocked, and hosts were kind and responsive. We can't wait to visit again!
This was such a perfect location for a mini-honeymoon near Blowing Rock. Secluded but still close to town and very near great hiking. Our dog also had a blast running around the yard and finding frogs near the pond. We just left and already trying to plan a return trip!
This property is beautiful, the cabin is perfect and very well stocked. We had everything we needed for our getaway weekend to play in the snow. We are definitely looking forward to staying there again in the spring/summer so we can enjoy the pond, property and hiking.
This cabin is perfect! The property is beautiful, private and very peaceful. The cabin is extremely clean and close to many activities. Our 2 young kids had a blast at nearby Blowing Rock, Tweetsie, gem mining and more! Will be back next year! Thank you for the great vacation
The cabin was cute and clean! We didnât catch any fish in the pond, but my daughter learned how to cast her pole! The owners are very responsive to questions.
The property was very cozy and the pond was wonderful. So many little details provided, like homemade soap and fresh firewood. The fishing gear was so nice to have also. My kids really enjoyed fishing and making sâmores! It was nice to be able to bring our dog and felt like a home away from home!
We love this place so much! So peaceful, close to great hikes and Blowing Rock, but far enough from town that you feel yourself relax. Love the porch, the firepit, grilling and eating at picnic tables, and the pond. Cabin was well-stocked. Thank you! We hope to be back soon.
Could not have had asked for a more amazing weekend! The place was perfect for 2 people and the property was secluded yet close to everything. Kitchen well stocked - the homemade soaps were a sweet welcome and check out was amazing! Thank you for the perfect getaway that enhanced making great memories
Awesome times we only left to go to the grocery store very relaxing! This cottage was anove and beyond our expectations! We were soooo amazed! By far one of the best relaxing weekends we've had in a long time! We lived it so much we are renting it for my mother and father n law for her birthday as a surprise b-day get away!
What everyone wants to know: Clean, clean, clean. King size bed was very comfortable. Small, but had everything we could ask for. Great location! The pond was beautiful and great to walk around, or just sit and enjoy. You felt like you were in your own oasis, yet only roughly 10 mins. drive to Blowing Rock. Wonderful hosts, very pleasant answered any and all questions. Just the best, period!! We will be back!
This place was great!! Everything was just as described. Cottage was clean and everything you need is there. Cottage is back off the road and the neighborhood is quiet. The pond was great and my girls enjoyed walking around it looking at the lilly pads and wildlife. The cottage is close to pretty much everything with 221 heading to Blowing Rock and Grandfather Mnt the opposite direction. The Parkway is close to use to get to Moses Cone and other venues on the Parkway. Great time and we plan to go back again!!!
We stayed here while visiting our daughter that attends Appalachian State. We were not certain how long the drive would be to Boone but were pleasantly surprised. The house was perfect for our needs and was well equipped and clean. It is not a big home but was exactly as described and was pet friendly. We brought our lab along and she loved the sprawling yard and pond. There were fishing rods for us to use but I did not have any luck but wasn't sure what bait would be best.
The check-in process was seamless and directions were great. Overall, the house had a lot of character and the beds were great and there were plenty of linens and the owner even left some home made soaps as a gift. The bathroom was nicely updated and the heating and air worked great.
We have stayed at several VRBOs in the past that were far more "upscale" but this place was a definite favorite and we had zero issues or complaints. We are looking forward to more stays in the future. If you are looking for a small mountain home with total privacy and beautiful grounds, give it a try!
Our stay was absolutely perfect! The outside land was beautiful and my dogs were so happy running around. The view of the mountains from the pond was so beautiful. We did not have any problems at all. Everything you need or want is there. We will definitely be back.
Beautiful property and cozy cabin. Our boys enjoyed fishing (caught bass), and we enjoyed walking around the pond with our dogs. Spectacular sunset view.
Excellent getaway! Convenient location, wonderful, secluded cabin with a beautiful pond. The hosts are amazing and extremely responsive. They have thought of everything including enough towels, TP, and even laundry and kitchen staples. We all wished we could have stayed longer!
Will definitely come back to this little oasis in the woods. Itâs convenient to all that area has to offer and the property is beautiful. Thanks for a wonderful wknd!
Goodness! The hosts were wonderful and the cabin was neat, tidy and so very comfortable. The view and setting of the house was out of a storybook and I can truly say, I wish I could have stayed longer. I definitely would book this house again.
We had a great time. The cabin was very clean and had everything we could want to use, even fishing rods to use for the pond. We are planning to stay here again next year.
My family and I absolutely loved staying at the cabin! The cabin was so nice and the owner provided many extras that are not ususally provided at vacation rentals. It was clean, the beds were comfy, the kitchen very well stocked and it was spacious. The private grounds blew us away with the gorgeous pond with water lilies in bloom, several firepits and outdoor furniture. There are two cushioned adirondack chairs on the porch. So comfortable. We are all ready looking at dates for our next visit. Jennifer is an outstanding and conscientious property owner! Thanks, Jennifer!
"Rocky Meadows" has been in my family since around 1929. My fathers' great aunt Minerva Walker Goldsmith "Aunt Bea" purchased Rocky Meadows around 1929 in order to spend summers away from the heat of Palm Beach. Aunt Bea was known for her modernist watercolor landscape paintings. She developed a love for the mountains and sold property to her friends, one being Phillip Moose, and established Artist Alley. My father built this cabin with very little assistance in 2006. It took him 2 years to complete.
Privacy, pet friendly, beautiful mountain setting, outdoor stone grill, gas grill, bonfire pit next to pond, fishing dock, close to ski resorts and restaurants
