Woodside Nook Cabin at the BHR Farm Village: perfect hiking get-a-way
Nestled in the middle of the Byron Herbert Reece Farm Village, the Woodside Nook is one of the original dwellings of the property, dating back to the 1980's. This one bedroom/one bath cabin/full kitchen is a rustic and bare basics unit - making it an affordable option for visitors to north Georgia. The vacation rental is perfectly perched between Blairsville, Helen, Cleveland, and Dahlonega, and it is within 30 minutes driving distance to 8 local wineries, four waterfalls, and Brasstown Bald (the highest point in Georgia). It takes exactly 2 minutes to drive to Vogel State Park and Lake Trahlyta or hike the 3 mile B.H. Reece Homestead Trail that connects to property directly to Vogel. This unit is a terrific affordable option for honeymooners.
Loved the cabin, it was very clean and comfortable. We loved the access to the farm property and the creek nearby. Vogel State Park close by was nice with many hiking trails.
We were unable to stay the entire booking because my husband had a fall on our first hike. It is a beautiful area and we'd love to come back (after the broken arm heals).
Property clean and nice⊠loved the creek and enjoyed the stay.. not the best cell reception at times but the Wi-Fi seemed to work fine inside ..will stay again ..
The cabin was in an idyllic location surrounded by beautiful trails and views. We were personally and immediately attended by the property manager when a small problem arose upon our arrival. Everyone we encountered associated with this property was compassionate and considerate. This made our 45th Wedding Anniversary celebration filled with wonderful memories and beautiful mountain, lake, stream and meadow scenes. Thank you.
We had an amazing stay at this cozy mountain cabin! The location was perfect, offering stunning views and complete tranquility. The cabin itself was charming and well-equipped, with a comfortable living space. It was the ideal place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. The hosts were very welcoming and thoughtful, making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a peaceful mountain retreat!
Home is very convenient to trails and other sites in the area. Very clean and maintained; would have liked a table by the sofa and a front door mat to wipe your feet. Had to buy coffee filters and dish soap, but still very happy with our stay. Would recommend it!
The property was charming. Hiking and stream just out the front door. The area offered us everything we needed to enjoy a peaceful vacation and location near beautiful areas for hiking. The Reece Farm Village was an unexpected bonus and offered a free concert and history about the area. We will return!
If you intention is to enjoy the outdoors and get a comfortable place to rest and freshen up - look no further.
This nook is exactly as described. The AC works great, its clean, the water pressure is spot on, the appliances work great, and there is plenty of storage space for your belongings ... its the little things that makes a stay away from home enjoyable and this property checks every box.
The property was as advertised. Quaint cabin nicely decorated in a country setting on a small river. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to others. Just a few recommendations- the door sticks badly and needs to to adjusted. A throw or two would be nice along with having a cork screw and queen size pillows. Overall very happy with the stay- Thank you for having us. The Campbells- David & Ginger 2021
The only issue was that there wasn't any instructions on how to use the gas heater. Other than that, 4 stars. I am a big guy and the shower was nice. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is bc the bed was small for my Wife and I. Starter Kit was a plus.
Great for a quiet getaway, with some minor drawbacks
This property was great for a New Year's Eve getaway for my partner and me. The quiet location was perfect to get away from all the noise and chaos of our home. The only complaint I have is that the furniture was pretty uncomfortable, specifically the couch. The cushions kept sliding out from under us while we tried to relax and watch a movie. The couch has a pull out bed, which we deployed to see if that would be more comfortable, but it was only a slight improvment. Aside from that, our stay was quite pleasant.
The unit is one of the original dwellings of the Byron Herbert Reece Farm Village. It's charming and rustic characteristics are totally original to the property.
Just a few minute's walk to the official "farm," visitors are just a stones throw to wolf creek, to the live barn animals, to the garden, and to the walking path through Byron Herbert Reece's mentions of poetry. For the more adventurous, a 1.23 mile paved hiking trail connects the farm to Vogel State Park - with its Lake Trahlyta, Trahlyta Falls, and related water activities.
