Having a car is best and we have plenty of parking. Uber/Lift are readily available in this area pretty much 24/7
This house comes with lots of history. At the time it was completed in 1907, it was the highest price per square inch (was measured in square inches at the time) of any home in the country. Please take time to read about the history of the home during your stay. The home is 116 years old so it comes with some of the "creaks" associated with an older homes. We have a ring doorbell and a security camera on the parking area that are motion sensored and hold recordings for 2 weeks.
We rented the house for a girls' reunion weekend and comfortably slept 11 adults. The house was great - super clean, great kitchen, lots of seating and catching up areas to lounge. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of bathrooms. The communication with the owners was excellent. Location was perfect if you are needing to be close to Trinity or UIW. Also close access to Downtown. We would definitely rent again.
What a wonderful property! We loved everything about this property for our group of 10. It gave us plenty of room to relax and be together. Debby was simply amazing and she was a delight to communicate with me. She gave us great recommendation and things to do and see We will be back for sure
The house was very clean, comfortable and welcoming. Debby was very kind and helped us whenever we had a question. She event went as far as to hang the Trinity University flag outside for our graduate. The location was great! We were a short drive to the Pearl and airport. I would 10/10 recommend staying here.
The house was perfect for our large group with plenty of room. Everything was in order and Debby was extremely helpful and attentive throughout our stay! We will be back!!!
History, architecture, modern comforts, comfortable beds, good water pressure, plenty of hot water, great location, thoughtful hosting extras⊠as an experienced VRBO user I could not be more impressed! Thank you Debby for letting us use your home for our very special family event!
Absolutely incredible house. Weâve stayed here twice now and really enjoyed the beautiful home and space to relax. The host was so gracious and quick to respond, and itâs the perfect location (both close to everything and safe). Would definitely recommend for a larger group!
The property was more than we expected. Plenty of room and we loved all the rooms and the outdoor lounge area. The location of the house was perfect to restaurants and a near by golf course.
The home was immaculately clean. There were many different spaces to spread out and either read alone or play games together. The kitchen was well appointed from the nice appliances to good pots and pans. We cooked a lot and always had what we needed. The pool is small but was fun as was the jacuzzi. We used the fire pit almost every night for lovely ambiance. The home was beautifully furnished and the Host even had Fiesta Decor to greet us since we stayed during Fiesta Week (the last 2 weeks in April each year). Deby & Lance, the owners, were very helpful with a couple small issues that arose while we were there. Deby was especially helpful before our stay with recommendations on the best Fiesta Events and restaurants we could go to with our small children. La Fonta's was a short walk from the house that even our 1 and 4 year olds enjoyed. We went across the street to "Extra Fine" almost each morning for coffee and breakfast fare. We walked to Lily's cookies for delicious, frosted homemade type cookies. And while there went next door to Barbaros Pizza for the best cauliflower dough pizza I have ever had! It was a great week at this lovely home!
This home was perfect for our gathering of 11 friends and family for a birthday celebration. The host could not have been more accommodating and communication was always fast & easy. The house was spacious, with lots of separate seating areas so we never felt we needed to be in the same space all the time. It was tastefully decorated and had all of the amenities we could need from shampoo in the showers to every type of drinkware, pots, pans, towels, etc. Our guests loved the modern updates as well as the vintage charm. The bedrooms were large and the upstairs loft area was a hit with our younger set. There is ONE bedroom that had a trundle-type bed, which would have been awkward had we needed it because you have to cross it to get to a bathroom and the very back bedroom. We ended up not using it so that worked out. There's a cute little coffee shop/cafe right across the street and a restaurant with little shops around the corner. It was close enough to the Riverwalk that my oldest daughter was able to get to there on a rented street scooter. We will DEFINITELY use this host/listing again!
We loved this house and we loved the host! Extended family met up and stayed here and the house was adorable and great for our group, including a pack and play for a toddler. We loved that there was a huge dining table everyone could fit at. Debby went above and beyond to get the small pool ready for us, and gave us some good recommendations for things nearby. I really canât say enough good things about the house and our experience!
Charming and elegant home in the best part of town!
Wow - Debby is truly the ultimate VRBO host! We live in the neighborhood and booked this house for our out of town family during Christmas. We ended up cooking and hosting our holiday meals here instead of our own home because of the amazing kitchen/dining/living area. We comfortably cooked and dined with 16 adults and 7 young children. The bedroom situation is amazing for an extended family set up or for couples, as there are four kind bedrooms! We look for this in vacation rentals all the time and itâs very hard to find. Itâs so nice for each family to have their own room. Plus, there are smaller bed options for the kids - a twin with a trundle and the smaller bed(s) in the upstairs room. Two of the downstairs king bedrooms share a bathroom, but it is nice and big and so charming. Three bathrooms total made the sharing a non-issue. This is truly a well-appointed rental, and you can tell that Debby puts much thought and care into the details of this charming home. Sometimes you can tell when properties are simply vacation rentals versus when the owner wants it to feel like a true home. In this case, it really feels like Debby has made her beloved home available to you. Additionally, sheâs quick to respond and extremely hospitable. Check-in was a breeze and everything was extremely easy to find and the house was easy to navigate once we were there.
As far as location, we may be biased as locals who live in the same neighborhood, but you canât beat the IYKYK vibes of this neighborhood. Right across the street, an amazing bakery/cafe/coffee shop. Around the corner, a cocktail bar with our favorite pizzas. And then just a short 10 minute walk east on Mistletoe and you are among the best restaurants, bars, and most fun places in San Antonio - both of Cullumâs spots (Attaboy and Attagirl), NOLA, Singhâs Vietnamese, Curry Boys, Little Death wine barâŠyou get the idea. If you want to experience the less touristy version of San Antonio while still being a hop away from downtown & Pearl - this is your spot!
My wife, myself , and two other couples stayed at this beautiful home for a quick staycation. From the kitchen where I prepared a delicious meal. To the backyard with the fire pit and lights. Every part of our experience was fantastic. We will definitely be staying here again.
This property was great for a group with 7 different families (adults and children). It was very well furnished with little touches that added to the property. I wished the owner had properties all over the USA for us to use!
Came into San Antonio for the Sweet 16 Tournament. Wanted to be near the Pearl, Riverwalk, and the games themselves. House is beautiful, very well decorated and well managed. Property manager was easy to connect with and responded quickly. Highly recommend the house and hope to return! Great neighborhood. Loved the backyard. A lot of parking.
This house was perfect for our girls trip. Plenty of beds and room for everyone. The owners are amazing and help with anything you need. This historic house is something to see! We enjoyed our stay.
This property is great & Debby is a wonderful host! The house is clean and spread out so makes it easy for adults to have their own space & come together for meals or hanging out!
This property was gorgeous and perfect for a family. The kitchen was spacious with separate coffee bars and wine bars. Refrigerator had plenty of space for a large group. The house was well appointed, plenty of nice bathrooms and very comfortable bedrooms.
I am a happily married high school math teacher and short term property manager. My husband and I live in downtown San Antonio and have been here for over 30 years. We are excited to show off our city to the many visitors that come to the area each year. We know the best restaurants, coffee houses and parking spaces! We are happy to help with making your stay extraordinary.
Why this property? You will not be asking that within seconds of entering this unique property. It is museum quality. We call the house "The Brack House" because they were the original builders in 1905. It was designed by James Walker Flood, well known designer that also designed the famous Saint Anthony Hotel here in SA. At the time of completion (1907) this house was the most expensive house, to date, in the country (price/sq. inch). Please enjoy becoming part of the history of "The Brack House".
This house is in the perfect location. Walk to some of the best restaurant this town has to offer. It is near EVERYTHING, downtown, The Pearl, the airport, Fiesta Texas and 20 minutes from Seaworld. Museums and the Alamo within 3 miles.
