Unique getaway, lots of wildlife. If you stay here do dinner at the Bosque del Cabo, lots of wildlife and a great meal. Make sure you're prepared for the rough road in!
Secluded jungle setting, steps to amazing beach views. caretaker is the best. Monkeys and other wildlife literally at your door step. 4x4 (or mostly a vehicle with high ground clearance) highly recommended for access road.
If you have a little bit of adventure spirit and a high clearance vehicle, don't hesitate. This place is amazing. The craftsmanship and design is so unique and so well done! Orlando and his crew are the most wonderful people! We can't wait to go back.
Almost at the very end of the Matapalo Road, The house is built with a lovely garden area in front and flowers, transitioning to jungle in back. there is a lovely patio with a cool refreshing pool in front, along with some lounge chairs tucked under an awning.
Our hosts Joel and Maria were kind, accommodating and helped us learn more about the area and life in Costa Rica.
It was truly a lovely place to disconnect from the rest of the world, and be a part of life in the jungle.
This property was more than we had expected the idea of how far back off the grid it was what is exactly what we needed. There is nobody else on any of the properties and the groundskeeper was amazing and super helpful. The wildlife started in the morning and lasted through the evening. We were able to hike to a waterfall. We could see the ocean from our bed and fell asleep to it and woke up to it. The local dogs were adorable. The inside waterfall was amazing in the rental. We will definitely be back.
All I can say is wow, this place is amazing! The house is so beautifully designed and the finishes make you feel like you are a part of the jungle! The kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals and the bathrooms make you feel like you are showering in the rainforest! There is a dead tree in front of the property that Scarlet Macaws nest in so there tons in the area, last day of our stay we saw 13 all in one tree! The care taker Joel and his family are so sweet and took wonderful care of us and they kept the grounds and gardens immaculate! We will def book this property again for our next visit to the Osa! Pura Vida!
If your looking for adventure with amenities and new experiences, Animals, ocean, fresh air, beach, and adventure this is the place. We landed in Liberia rented a jeep and drove to Tamarindo for three day of relaxation before we hit the road and drove down the entire pacific coast stopping along the way. We did the trip in a day but would recommend staying a night in Quepos to break up the trip. We booked with **** all of our activities and it was seamless. **** was absolutely fantastic ensuring we had everything we needed. We had a private chef ******* for dinners and they were amazing and extremely affordable. The road from Puerto Jimenez is rough but an adventure!!!!! MUST HAVE 4x4. Already planning next years trip back and are just heading straight to Puerto Jimenez and booking in the same house. Visiting Corcovado is a must, snorkeling and the dolphins were amazing.
Beautiful setting surrounded by luscious vegetation. Fascinating animals and the sounds from the nearby ocean. We picked starfruit from the tree outside our front door. There was a bullfrog and lizard that visited the "stream" that runs through the house. We awakened every morning to squawking scarlet macaws. Occasionally spider monkeys passed by our kitchen "window."
Orlando, the caretaker was never far away if we needed something. He arranged both a boat trip and a night walk through the forest for us.
I highly this unique experience.
This home is a true work of art!!! If you love to immerse yourself in nature with wildlife all around, you will NOT be disappointed!! We saw monkeys, macaws, toucans, coatĂ, frogs, lizards and more from our breakfast table. We fell asleep to the sounds of the waves and awoke to views of the sunrise from our bed each morning. The property is on the water with a large open green space where we played soccer, a waterfall just a 15min hike up the trail and many beaches nearby. The staff was phenomenal! Orlando, the property manager, was very attentive, professional, and kind. He delighted us by sharing his familyâs homemade Christmas tamales and even offered to send me my sandals that I forgot at the house. Rolando, the grounds keeper, answered all our questions about the flora and fauna on the property, picked starfruit for us to make juice and opened coconuts for my kids to taste. We enjoyed this stay SO much that we hope to return many times in the future!
This place is unreal. I had tears seeing it for the first time! A true treehouse paradise in nature that I have been looking for my whole life. Amazing details in the design of the house to make it one with nature! Steps from the beach, no walls, just open fencing around the structure, so you can see every tree, plant and animal around (and some do get in, like frogs, lizards and insects, so you have to be ok with being one with nature!) we are visiting their habitat, it is open to all nature. I loved it. It still felt safe. The first night we saw macaws in the trees on the beach and 2 pavons (Costa Rica peacocks). The house was very clean and the caretakers were great! They shared fruit with us, showed us the birds in the trees at night, assured us a large spider in the house was not dangerous, and were very friendly and helpful! Thank you Orlando, Leon and Rolando! The only downside was the bed was hard and we barely slept the first night. There is also a frog that lives on the bottom floor grotto that makes a super loud sound every minute or so, hard to sleep. One night the frog made it upstairs and was under the bed! đ Next night I got smarter and put 2 comforters under us, and used earplugs and eye mask. First morning we were already up when the sun came up so we walked to the beach and there were scarlet macaws everywhere! we spent most of the days relaxing in the comfy hammocks on the balcony that I could truly live in forever. We hiked up the waterfall to swim and another day walked to the sandier beach down the road. Saw lots of animals just around that area. We definitely would love to come back. It felt like a great adventure. We had a driver bring us there and drop us off. The road is definitely very rough and you have to be ok with driving over huge ruts and have 4wd to make it there.
The monkeys! Steps from the beach. Architectural attention to details. Off the beaten path, high clearance 4x4 is a must! Plan for a Friday night at Martina's bar. Easily sleeps 4. Would stay again!
This was beyond expectations! The kitchen is very well appointed, you could make anything you want - including a pie! While making breakfast, the monkeys were climbing around and peeking in to see what I was doing. We were there at the tail end of rainy season, so sleeping and listening to the sound of the rain - and the crashing of the ocean, which is so close, was so peaceful. They tell you that you need a 4x4 - believe them! This gem is far into the rainforest - it probably is an hour off the main road, which in places was very bumpy, steep and muddy. We had a Toyota Landcruiser and it did just fine, Also - bring plenty of groceries and things you will need for your stay, because running out for something you forgot is not a very good option. I stayed here with my three adult children - we did not want to leave. Orlando, the property manager, went above and beyond expectations to make sure our stay was perfect. Definitely the highlight of our two weeks in Costa Rica. A true âoff the gridâ vacation.
This is a beautiful space surrounded by abundant wildlife, flora, fauna, and the ocean. We had a wonderful time seeing scarlet macaws regularly along with tons of other bird species, we also saw monkeys, agouti, anteater, basilisks, and frogs. The beaches nearby are stunning!! Joel was incredibly helpful and kind during our stay. Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance!
