"Slow Tides" - Entire Cottage on the Suwannee River
Welcome to paradise. A modern style and freshly renovated Waterfront House in Fanning Springs, Florida. This cozy getaway is located on a private canal seconds off The Suwannee River. Bring your boat and cruise to the nearby springs or venture to the Gulf for the big catch. The balcony of the home sits just feet off the water. With its own private concrete boat ramp, dock, pedal boat and kayaks. Enjoy your evenings around the firepit with friends. Everything you need for a fun, relaxing or romantic waterfront getaway.
Nice house on the water. The furniture and beds were comfy and we enjoyed having coffee in the morning on the rocking chairs on the back covered porch while watching mullet jump in the water. There is plenty of seating underneath the house with an extra bathroom for when you are wet, a grilling area, parking and big yard. The dumb waiter was convenient for taking things upstairs. We enjoyed the nice floating dock, paddle boat and kayaks. There is a public boat ramp right across the street and we walked right down the street to the Suwannee Belle restaurant for a delicious dinner.Laura is a great host! We would stay here again.
Everything about this place was wonderful! From the communication with the host, if you like outdoors kayaking in nature it's the place for you! The property itself inside was immaculately clean furnished very nicely and had everything that you could possibly need to accommodate your stay on the Suwannee River. Laura The Host was absolutely wonderful, she let us get in a day early and offered us suggestions on where to eat and where to go. If you ever stay in the area it's the perfect place for a small family. We will be staying there on all of our trips into town.!!
The location is excellent with the river right out the door and springs within walking distance. The home was comfortable with thoughtful amenities provided. I would definitely book again.
As many of the other reviews have stated, this is a nice place on the river. It is comfortable and decorated nicely with direct access to the river and a balcony to sit on. The kitchen is fully stocked if you wish to cook. While the listing says this waterfront house is "freshly renovated", to me it appears that two of the most important rooms in the house, the ensuite bathroom and the guest bathroom were not. When we arrived, I saw that the bathtub in the guest bathroom and the shower pan in the ensuite bathroom were both, what I thought, very dirty. I let the host know this, she apologized and sent her housecleaner over within a few hours to give it a refresh in her words. The housecleaner worked for over 1-1/2 hours on the tub and shower pan trying to clean them; however, in the end, the shower pan looked a little tiny bit better but the bathtub did not look any better and was still brown and looked dirty from front to back. In my opinion, the bathtub could probably use a reglazing or needs to be replaced and the shower pan, too. I can't recommend this place to anyone who is skeeved out by a dirty or dirty looking bathtub/shower. The rest of the house was immaculate.
Great place for younger people. Stairs not so great for people in there 70's making several trips up and down with luggage, Groceries, ect. is hard on the old folks. Other than that no problem at all. Love the place.
Lots of fun! Brought the boat, zipped up and down the Suwannee, saw manatees, relaxed at Fanning Springs, caught lots of bream in the main river, dinner at Royâs in Steinhatchee, dessert at Legends, and tubed down the Ichetucknee on the way out. Great stay!
The home and property were amazing. My husband, mother and myself traveled from Arizona to visit kids and grandchildren. This place gave us an amazing place to gather and kept everyone entertained. Kayaking, fishing, bonfire, yard games. Loved loved loved it. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Our goal is warm winter weather which Florida offers. That goal was accomplished with our 1st visit to Old Town. Area great for: fishermen, boaters ( across street from Joe Anderson Park hosting angling tournaments). Nature Coast Trail for bicycling and walking. Plenty of motorcycles and restaurants. RV park across canal. There were early issues with property conditions which the host responded to but shouldnât have been necessary.
We really enjoyed the house. It was one of the cosiest vrbos we have rented and very nicely done. We had a slight delay getting in but Vrbo helped us out as they always do and it did not hamper us at all. We would definitely rent this house again. Thank you!
Peaceful, restful. The host was a great communicator. A hurricane hit the area and she was excellent at keeping me updated about restoration efforts in the area.
My family rented other houses but this house was definitely the hang out spot with the boat ramp across the street and the large dock we were able to dock 3 boats and there was a giant tree swing for the kids and a nice fire pit for sâmores and hanging out at night. The house was newly updated and gorgeous! There was plenty of room in the house for family to come in and make a plate of food! I really loved the rocking chairs and deck to watch the sun rise over the water. We will definitely be back!!
Lauraâs property was perfect for what we were looking for in our vacation. We love to explore new places in our boat and this property was a perfect base for our boating adventures. With itâs own boat ramp and beautiful, huge dock on a canal away from boat wakes was a real bonus. We cruised to the Gulf of Mexico (28.3 miles) and cruised up river to the many crystal clear springs and also went up the Santa Fe River and then up the crystal clear Ichetucknee River. Lauraâs home was well maintained and furnished well with a very comfortable bed. A huge bonus was the dumb waiter to get luggage to the elevated home. Laura is a perfect host and now, my friend.
