It was a pleasure staying at the charming River Shack. We enjoyed the large front porch most of all but also the quaint decor and location near the Suwannee River.
Great place will stay again we were allowed to check in early which was a great help house was perfect also cooking on an old style gas stove was neat. Property was great could grill out had some games to keep you busy or just relax on the front porch which we did Moseley
Great little house on the river away from town and the usual hotel. Wasn't sure whether we'd be on the water. Ended up being a secondary row but could see the river and within walking distance of the boat ramp! Circle drive was perfect for our boats too!
Was a great place to stay and connect with the family! It was close to the springs and our scalloping destination. The owner was very accommodating and friendly! :)
Although the owner was nice and responsive we found the rental fell short of our expectations. The beds were hard and uncomfortable (and one of the twin beds had a frame was not secure and felt unsafe), the bedroom doors didnât fit within the frames so even when you closed the door you could see into the hall (the knobs didnât work so a hook and eye was what kept the doors closed), no thresholds between changes in flooring (tile to hardwood), the faucet in the main bathroom wobbled and due to no counters or storage space in the bathrooms the towels are in the living room. We normally sit as a family for meals and there is not a real table to do this at. Due to lack of organization/storage/counters in the kitchen some things like the cutting board, Dutch oven, etc are kept on the floor. We found coffee mugs that were not clean. So with no dishwasher I felt I had to clean the dishes before using them which meant meal prep took longer (hand wash-cook-and then hand wash again) After an active day this just felt like work. Not having WiFi or data available to research different things in the area was inconvenient and made it difficult to keep in touch with our family. A review is subjective these are things that made our stay less enjoyable for us.
This little house was amazing. We loved showing our girls all of the antiques. The house was super cute and clean. We had a blast exploring the Suwannee River and all the springs. We will definitely be back.
I couldn't believe how nice and clean the antiques were, considering their age! Everything was exactly as promised and we enjoyed our stay. Such a unique home! Be aware, you may not have cell phone service in the house/area, depending on your carrier.
Very nice stay, house was very clean upon our arrival. My Dad had a sawmill while I was growing up, so enjoyed the tongue and groove paneling and wood throughout. Lots of vintage items in the house. Comfortable and homey feeling.
Such a cute place with a great outdoor area for cooking. Loved the antiques. There was some confusion with the location, as maps took us to the wrong address. Luckily Connie was available and was very helpful. I did think the house was on the river and was looking forward to leaving our boat in the water but the ramp was very close and no issues with the ramp.
We just spent a week here and I can't think of a better place to relax and unwind. The pictures you see are a perfect representation of what you will find upon arrival. The upper deck is the right spot to sit with your coffee to start your day or relax with a glass of wine after dinner. Constance is awesome in responding to emails or phone calls. Don't hesitate, book your vacation today you won't be sorry!
My husband and I have three handsome sons and one beautiful little granddaughter. I am retired and my husband has a full-time job outside the home. I love people and convo with new friends from all around the world; therefore, this is the perfect job for me! With four rentals in three different counties here in Florida, I do not always get to meet my guest in person. Although, it is very rewarding that some guest have kept in touch with us through social medial and such. I also have a love for ole things, other than my husband! With this being said, you will find each rental is uniquely decorated with things of the pass. I hope you enjoy your stay and you too will come back and visit us again!
This property is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Dixie County. It's within 300 feet of a public boat ramp. You can see the view of the Suwannee river from the property, master bedroom and living room. There is an outdoor country kitchen downstairs for entertaining.
This home is close to many beautiful springs and if you like to antique there is always a yard sale nearby! Some of my best antique finds have come from this area. You must visit the Point of View while in the area.
