Sunrise Shores at Sutton's Bay with Spectacular West Bay Views!
Sunrise Shores Base Camp is a beautifully maintained home with an amazing view of the bay from the entire house and deck in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula surrounded by wineries, world class restaurants, and biking trails. It sits on a lush property on West Grand Traverse Bay set back 1,000 feet from M22 at the edge of the woods with big bay views and private bay access across the street. New carpet and furniture throughout including three brand new Nectar queen size beds and everything a foodie needs to cook up a fabulous meal. The home is tucked far away from the road with a huge front yard and entertaining space galore. Enjoy bonfires nestled in the woods, or grill out for dinner on the large deck. The owner hosts a culinary, culture and music show called Lick the Plate and can provide expert tips on the best places to eat, drink and listen to music.
Our group of 4 came up here for the marathon and this place was an excellent choice. We were each able to have our own room (with very comfortable beds) and had everything we needed. The location is nice because there is plenty to do and see nearby in Traverse City but also right up the road. We wished we had more time and hope to make it back. David made excellent recommendations was very easy to communicate with. Everything went smoothly and we would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed staying here. The house is located just outside of Suttonâs Bay which is a beautiful area. David was a great host, available with any questions and is very knowledgeable about many activities in the area. We arrived to a bottle of wine from a local winery. We used the deck and fire pit nightly. The home is clean and very comfortable.
I had meetings in Traverse City and thought Iâd change things up from my normal hotel stay. Davidâs place was convenient to my work in Traverse City and SO close to everything on the Leelanau PeninsulaâŠone of my favorite places in the world! Not only that, but itâs location on West Grand Traverse Bay provided amazing sunrises and the house is nestled into the woods on most sides with a huge front lot! The house was comfortable and stylish and the bed was so comfy! David also knows his way around the culinary, vineyard and brewery scene and provided a detailed list of options and was responded quickly when I had a question. Iâll be back with friends to enjoy it again this summer!
Our stay at Davidâs Suttonâs Bay home was amazing!
We had never been on the Leelanau Peninsula in the winter and it was beautiful. The house is perfectly located, with easy access to some of our winter favorites including Farm Club, Dune Bird Winery, Hop Lot, and the really fun ice skating rink in Suttonâs Bay along with close proximity to Traverse City. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and decorated with a fun mix of Michigan and California styleâŠand I should mention the beds as they were very comfy. The view of the bay is spectacular, especially the sunrise and the house is very private with woods on one side and a huge front yard and fire pit.
David was the perfect host and provided a prep doc for the house and a list of area restaurants and attractions we found very useful. You can tell he enjoys providing great experiences for his guestsâŠwe are already planning our return this summer as that should be even better. I highly recommend this home and David as a host.
I'm a Michigan native with a long history on the Leelanau Peninsula. An active waterman that includes surfing the Great Lakes, fishing, sailing and wakeboarding, I appreciate the access to so many amazing bodies of water that surround this home in Sutton's Bay. As the host of Lick the Plate, a long running culinary, culture and music radio show, I also get very excited by the fact that the Leelanau Peninsula is a food and wine lovers delight with amazing vineyards and restaurants galore with more opening all the time plus all the options in Traverse City. This is not just a summer destination as I've enjoyed it year round with brilliant colors in the fall, proximity to great skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling in the winter. My goal as your host is to make your time spent in the area as memorable as possible and will do everything I can to help with your planning.
This super comfy and stylish house is in a perfect location to base your adventures in the heart of the peninsula and it sits on the West Grand Traverse Bay providing spectacular views and bay access from most of the home. The deck has great views as well and the fire pit is perfect for an outdoor gathering year round. All of the beds and furniture are new and provide superior comfort.
The location on the West Bay in the heart of the Leelanau Peninsula, a short drive from everything plus the fabulous views and access to the West Grand Traverse Bay make this a perfect spot to base your NW Michigan adventures.
