Gorgeous Lakefront House Rental facing South on Green Lake in Dedham, Maine
This lakefront home sits twenty feet from the lake with a lawn that actually juts out into the lake. It has a sandy beach facing this spring-fed lake and a shoremaster dock, tethered swim float and an extra boat mooring for fun on the water. Three kayaks are available for use complete with paddles and life preservers. A portable fire pit is provided for nightly campfires. The home has a rustic exterior look but inside it includes all the conveniences of home. There is a washer and dryer in the house. Two bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a bunk arrangement with a twin over a full size bed, and the loft also has a queen bed. Most summer evenings the windows can be opened along with the sliding doors and you can fall asleep listening to the loons calling. However, if the night is cool you have a complete propane heat system along with a remote control gas fireplace insert and if the night is too warm we have two air conditioning units. Green Lake is ideally situated between Bangor and Ellsworth with only a 40 mile drive to Acadia National Park for sight-seeing and day hikes. You will love sunbathing on the front lawn feeling the breeze on the lake, swimming, fishing or boating in the cool clean water and eating your meals either on the open deck or the enclosed porch. For exterior security there is a ring doorbell and a single ring camera on the corner of the back of the house for the deck entry. There are NO other cameras on the property.
What an incredible vacation on beautiful Green Lake. We boated, kayaked, swam, and thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful lake home, which is very comfortable and well stocked. On our last day we sat on the lawn having lunch and watched a Bald Eagle soar over the lake. Close to Bar Harbor to enjoy all of Acadia, yet further enough removed. Went to Ellsworth for breakfast at Riverside Cafe,Lunch another day at Union River Lobster Pot. Ice cream at Blue Hill Dairy. We canât wait to come back next summer!
We have stayed here twice and loved it both times and look forward to future stays. Kids had a great time and the private dock is great for fishing and if you decide to rent a boat.
This is our 3rd year staying at Scottâs property on Green Lake. We really love it. Itâs always super clean and there is ample space for our group of 8 adults to spread out and truly relax. The beauty of this spot is the grassy yard with the dock attached. We are out there much of the time we are there and usually have a fire at night. You share the kayaks with the neighboring home but itâs never been a problem for us. Scott is a phone call away and always responds. Although Iâve rarely had to call. Itâs well appointed with kitchen ware and towels and sheets. The beds are comfortable and I give this a 5 star rating on all fronts.
Beautiful location with very comfortable and clean accommodations. Good communication from owner and stay went smoothly.
Plenty of space for 4 adults and a puppy.
Close to Maine coastline and Acadia.
Incredible view of Northern Lights during our stay
My boyfriend and I stayed there with our small dog for a week. It was very peaceful, clean and very, very relaxing. Local restaurants and a supermarket are fairly close by. Definitely recommend staying there. I would also recommend Jones lobster and the Lucerne Inn for meals.
This location on green lake is pristine and beautiful, much quieter than Ellsworth and very comfortable. The water was clear and warm even in September, great for swimming.
We had a great first visit to Maine! My daughter moved here last November and we were all excited to see her again! The Dunn Inn was perfect for our family, canât wait to go back!!
We had such a good time swimming, kayaking and relaxing in this beautiful spot. My wife and I felt like kids again and we got to enjoy some genuine quality time with our kids making memories on the lake. We are so happy with our decision to stay at the Dunn Inn.
We had a lovely Fourth of July week in the lake house. Scott was very responsive and we felt very welcome. The lake is wonderful for swimming and kayaking. The only thing that couldâve been better was if there was a dining area where we all couldâve eaten together. But all in all I would highly recommend for a lake vacation.
We had a great time at the Dunn Inn. The house was great with lots of room for all 8 of us and our dog. We loved kayaking and swimming in the lake. The water is so clean and refreshing. We loved hearing the loons and sitting out by the fire pit. We took day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor, which are pretty close. Thank you, Scott, for sharing your house, we had a wonderful time!
We came across this listing looking for a place near Acadia National Park. It was perfect for us! The kids loved jumping in the lake. We enjoyed sitting by the lake watching them. The owner was very helpful and accommodating. Neighbors are friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again!!
Beautiful lakeside property with exceptional amenities!
Everything about this property is above and beyond expectations. Location is just 5 mins from the Bangor Rd. There are 2 houses to rent if you like. We rented the larger house with all of the comforts of home. Very spacious outside space & parking, three bedrooms with plenty of bedding, lots of comfortable seating, incredibly equipped kitchen, great deck and water front, kayaks ++, loons too. Close to Bangor & Bar Harbor for day trips. Scott was great to communicate with. Very special
This property is all it is advertised. Beautiful lake, great spot and many amenities. The kitchen is very well equipped.
We had great weather, there was almost always a breeze each day and the lawn area is fabulous.
The layout of the house works well for a group, the enclosed porch and deck were perfect for our needs.
I would go back anytime!
Communication with Scott was easy and timely.
We had a great time at Scott's Cabin. Plenty of space for the kids to spread out and have their own sleeping areas. My son loved the loft! The grassy area out front was great and we used it for a large family get together with lobsters and such. We rented a boat and it was easy to dock and took it fishing as well. The kids enjoyed the float and kayaks that were available. My wife enjoyed the bedroom with the AC. We plan to return next summer!
This was our 2nd time at the Dunningâs beautiful lake side home in Dedham Maine. It is perfect for our group of 8. Lots of room inside with 2 living rooms so you can separate from the kids if you spend any time inside! The fire pit outside was our favorite spot at the end of the day. Just being able to see the stars in the sky was remarkable and we all said that was our favorite part of the week. The beds were very comfortable. There was only one bathroom but we made it work. Scott, the owner was responsive and easy to reach. It was clean and neat and the kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you again for a wonderful family vacation.
This is an older cabin right on a lake. There are 3 downstairs bedrooms and 1 bathroom and a loft bed. The highlight is that the cabin is right above the lake with a screened in porch and kayaks you can borrow. The dishwasher, washer and dryer work well. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to the nearest town and almost 1 hour to reach Arcadia National Park/Bar Harbor. The internet is slow and can't handle more than 1 user at a time. There are stairs to get down to the lawn and to enter the water, so doable for someone with a walker but not handicap accessible. Quiet, peaceful, older cabin.
The Dunning's lake front cabin was perfect and super clean as well.....better than what the pictures showed. With 4 bedrooms and multiple family areas there was lots of room for all 8 of us (and our dog) to enjoy each other's company but still separate enough to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. Swimming was as easy as walking out the door into the water. 3 kayaks were provided and used daily. The cabin had every amenity that we could think of to include air conditioning and even a trash compacter (pretty cool). The location was perfect as well, a well-stocked market about 8 miles away and the city of Bangor 20 miles away. All in all: A GOOD TIME!!
I really enjoyed the house on Green Lake
Very Relaxing and Peaceful
Listening to the loons and the water lap onto the shore
I loved waking up to the view of the lake
Seeing the sun go down in the evening Using the outside fire pit both during the day and night
Spacious home I brought my dog and cat
The dog enjoyed the back yard and wading in the lake. Also plenty of road to take walks. We easily found hiking trails both nearby and within 30 or 40 minutes
My cat loved to sit on the enclosed back porch and look outside
There are 2 TVâs One you can watch while in kitchen the other in the living room with a gas fireplace
I had my family over for a few meals there is a nice big table on the porch
My niece nephew and great nephew spent a night
Me great nephew loved the bunk bed and enjoyed climbing up to the loft
There are kayaks to use on the beautiful lake
Really just enjoying reading sitting by the lake was great. This trip was a retirement gift to myself
Seeing family and attending a wedding
Overall great stay for me.
But I can also see how this would be a great place for a family or friend adventure
My family of all adults over 18 had a fantastic stay at Scottâs cabin. We had a full house and there was plenty of room for all of us. Even just one bathroom worked out fine. There was lots of open cabinets in the kitchen to store our weeks worth of food. And we prepared all our meals in the cabin. They had all we needed for pots and pans and utensils. The spot is like a slice of heaven. Very quiet and peaceful and the water was very refreshing. We also found plenty to do in the area when it rained and we would definitely come back. The place was neat and clean and even though it is still a campy feeling it met all our needs. Scott was very responsive to all questions and I would highly recommend it.
This camp rental on Green Lake was absolutely perfect! Our family enjoyed everything and was able to fully relax and recharge. The only thing I would change is the mattress in the bedroom overlooking the lake (where my husband and I slept) was very hard. This is the only flaw to this perfect camp vacation!
Our family has been enjoying our Green Lake estate for the past 80 years. My grandfather built the original camp in the late 1930s and our family has continued to add improvements over the years. This will be the first year we have decided to rent the estate out to guests and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
This property has some of the best frontage on Green Lake with paved road access to an estate with southern exposure and a sandy beach. It is centrally located between Bangor (19 miles) and Ellsworth (15 miles) and only 34 miles to Acadia National Park.
By offering a sandy beach, deep water mooring, and a quality dock this property offers a great spot to bring your boat for a week. We provide three kayaks with paddles and life jackets for guests to use as well.
