WELCOME to Kanagawa & Zen Home of the Heights. We are located in the popular and convenient Heights area of Houston, Tx. A short drive away will take you to all major attractions in the city with plenty of things to do just walking distance away. This is the main house and if you have more people in your group you can also rent the guest home on the first floor which is a separate listing. We give you key to join both. PRO decorated and furnished to give a minimalistic ZEN vibes w/ max comfort. Please note this is the main home plus garage. The downstairs studio suite is a separate listing with a separate entrance. There is no interaction between the downstairs studio and the main home and parking is also separately designated.
***All homes in Harris county have a 17 % tax rate***

Very clean and inviting

This place was immaculate. It had all the things we needed for a weekend stay. Very large flatscreen tv’s which my husband liked and bed was very comfortable. The stairs gave us a workout which got tiresome but we knew that going in. My husband liked the massage chair and if we had more time we would’ve used the inversion table. Would like to stay here again. Highly recommend unless the stairs would be a problem for you.

Impeccably Clean, Great Location

Beautiful home in a great location, walkable to restaurants, coffee cafes and watering holes. Traveling as a family of four with pre-teens, Kanagawa & Zen LUX provided ample space for us to spread out. The home is one of the cleanest I have rented and is well decorated. One note for future guests to consider, the owner does rent out a room on the first floor (neither can access each other's space) and the owner is upfront about this in his listing. We could hear light noise during the day coming from the unit so if this would bother you, I would suggest renting out the third bedroom to avoid noise/surprise.

Beautiful home

This home was beautiful. We all fell in love with it. We were disappointed when we arrived to the home and saw that there was only 2 bedrooms because it was listed as a 3 bedroom townhome which was the main reason we chose this listing. Found out that you had to rent the 3rd bedroom it would be extra once we arrived. Overall the 2 beds were very comfortable. Really enjoyed the massage chair and the bidet was awesome lol! The location was perfect. The owners were easy to contact. Definitely would consider staying again when we only need 2 bedrooms.

Great stay!

Property was just as pictured, very clean and had everything we would need. The checkin and out process was easy and we will definitely stay there again! Note: We did travel with a 2 year old and didn’t think about all of the stairs (no fault of the owner). So would plan on bringing 2 baby gates if needed!

Zen with a Twist

Very nice property. As another review stated, the rental is only for the top 2 floors of a 3 story townhome. The owners were clear about this, but will say it is a bit of a “twist”once arriving on property and seeing there is only a thin hall door with a makeshift lock separating the downstairs rental from the upstairs space rented. Zero problems while there with this type of set up, and we ended up renting the studio a few nights for peace of mind while there but probably would not rent with this type of split setup again as the prospect of having a stranger in pretty close proximity did throw off the zen of the upstairs floors/renting a townhome overall.

Misleading bed size

The property is listed as sleep for 6. There is a king size bed and a FULL size beb, not a queen size as listed. Also, the couch is beautiful, but not a pull out. It was challenging to sleep 5.

Clean, Spacious, Home-Away-From-Home

This is a fantastic property with a meticulous, attentive property manager. We stayed here with our one year-old for ten days, while awaiting renovations on our new home to be completed. The neighborhood is walkable and there is a lively section of eateries just a block away. We will recommend this property to friends and family.

Wow! Such an amazing home!

I don’t know where to start to explain how great my stay was at this home. First off, John was so prompt responding to any questions I had. The home was stocked with everything you need plus more. There was so much room and the beds were very comfortable. I will definitely be staying here again!!

I was born in South Korea and I have lived in Houston and surrounding areas for over 25 years. I am a wealth of information about this city and I will be able to accommodate to your needs to the best of my ability. My background education is in medicine and cancer research which lead me to the largest medical center in the world! I went to Baylor University as an undergraduate majoring in biology and chemistry and then pursued a MD/PhD degree at the world famous MD Anderson Cancer Center.
My passion has always been into traveling and adventure. After visiting over 28 countries in my lifetime and staying at various nifty, creative and unique vacation homes, I’ve decided to pursue a business in rental home properties. I enjoy creating themed homes which allow my guests to vicariously experience something out of the ordinary. My favorite part of traveling around the globe was meeting the inspirational people that lead me to this current journey. I have always been fascinated about learning about different cultures and experiencing life vicariously through others epic life adventures. First-floor includes the foyer and garage and guest suite( not accessible, that is a separate listing). Second-floor has a half bath, kitchen is fully equipped gourmet kitchen with complimentary coffee and, dinning table, and living room with 60” TV and wireless internet. The third-floor has two spacious rooms and washer and dryer room with complimentary washing detergent, iron and ironing board. The master bedroom has a king size bed with ensuite bathroom with stand up shower and jacuzzi tub.
