We had a good week here. Our appeal was being able to bring all of our fur babies with us. House is clean. Communication with the host was easy and got back with us in a timely manner. Not a negative but the road to the house is a narrow and steep.
Overall a good cabin, tucked back in a beautiful spot of the mountain. Cabin was in good shape and looked just how it was listed. Comfy and cozy, will book this cabin again if available!
Dangerous, nasty, not taken care of, host does not reply in timely manner. This was the worst place we have ever booked. We didnât even stay, we couldnât stay as it was unsafe for everyone as the deck was coming apart, Rat feces in the kitchen, water leaking from the ceiling of the main floor bed room, nothing appeared to have been really cleaned, shower didnât have enough pressure to use, the a/c was dripping so much water it was in the floor in the basement. I messaged the host on the app as we did not have his phone number, 4 hours later still no reply. So I contacted VRBO help center and they tried to contact him with no luck. VRBO did give me his number so I could keep trying to get in touch with him. Once we made contact (10:30 pm) he first acted like it was no big deal and he would refund the cleaning fee and get maintenance out the next morning to fix what they could. Then he had his maintenance guy call me so I could tell him what was wrong. The Maintance guy told me he was the on call person and he was on vacation so it would be hard to get some one out there that night. The he also made the comment that they could only tell the host about the issues and if the host doesnât want to pay for them then they donât get fixed (implying this is a know issue for this host). After that the host called me back and after speaking for a bit he agreed to refund me my money back with the exception of one nights rent. And I still only have about half my money back.
The cabin was awesome, so much room! The views from the decks were AMAZING! Everything was perfect. One thing that was not so perfect was the scary one lane road the cabin was on, we had back out down the road to let another vehicle thru that was going the other way when we first arrived, but having said that- the rest of the time we met no other trafffic :) There are other cabins around, but with the wooded areas, it makes it feel like you are secluded. Great stay! We would definitely go back ( hot tub was wonderful too!) đ
Thanksgiving 4 day vacay: about $4500ish for this place. Hot tub.. did not work. At all. refunded a token $350. Two of the queen beds very uncomfortable. Basically unsafe, but fixable. Main tv in family area only works with HDMI cable to device (so, doesnât work). Not an internet issue. The other tvs worked ok with internet we signed into our own YOUTUBETV to watch football or parade Also remotes were mixed up but of course easy fix for guests, but annoying. Needs majorly restocked- while the home sleeps 11 (but will be charged extra over 5) there were 3 teaspoons and 4 dinner knives, 5 water glasses.. no small juice size glasses and no childrenâs cutlery as stated in the listing. No extra sheets at all. We laughed it off and bought paper plates/bowls and used our water bottles. But come on Gabe, you can do better! Unclear fees. After asking SEVERAL. times to management, I called customer service and found out that after 5 people they charge a nominal fee PER PERSON. So, if youâre over 5, add about $100 per person. With not the amenities you think youâre paying for a special holiday with family. Yikes! (Including pet and cleaning fees). Communication/Service: Very disappointing and very slow. Completely ignored billing question for days then said I must ânot have seenâ response. GOOD LUCK! Trust your gut like I should have done after reading âjust oneâ negative review. Now seeing how accurate it was, maybe they will get management company. Lovely view!
We absolutely loved how close the house was to town. It was a quick drive into Pigeon Forge. The layout with a bedroom on each floor is fantastic. Everyone was spread out. My absolute favorite was the hot tub and the view from the deck.
Les points faibles : Communication et exactitude de lâannonce
Find Another Cabin
The entire listing needs to be re written. False advertising by a lazy host. I ignored the first red flags unfortunately. After booking, I received an automated message from the host with drastically different check in/out times and a pet fee that more than doubled. Once we arrived, none of the listed amenities were actually available.
âąI received multiple messages stating that I should contact them immediately if my stay is anything but 5 stars, yet the communication was terrible. Responses took 24 hours, none of the issues were remedied, and he kept trying to call me and speak off platform.
âąThe hot tub was gross and unusable, smells like dead fish and could cause infection or illness.
âąHost kept promising maintenance will come to service the hot tub, but they never did. Bromine was not added to the hot tub, I checked, and it smelled worse by the time we left.
âąThe gas fireplace was not operational as Host promised when I asked if the gas fireplace would be working several weeks before our stay. Host said theyâre waiting on a part, but I have a gas fireplace myself. The gas line was shut off.
âąThe gas outdoor fire pit doesnât even exist. Host said he made a mistake and confused this cabin with another one.
âąThe beds are absolutely AWFUL. Old, worn out, crushed bed springs. Horribly uncomfortable.
âąThe well stocked kitchen, has very little to offer. Not even a baking sheet.
Itâs unfortunate. The cabin has potential, but itâs neglected as badly as the guests are.
We started out in California and Utah, graduated in Econ and Poly Sci, and we caught the travel bug early on. We have stayed at some form of short-term rental in Scottland, London, Barcelona, Dubai, Istanbul, Chang Mai, Rio de Janeiro, and many more. We want to provide something awesome for others to experience the world too.
We lived near the GSMNP for a while for work and after hiking through the park and experiencing the beauty, we knew that we had to make it part of our lives.
With this cabin, the views are what make it special. It's hard to find a view that doesn't have a bunch of other cabins in that view. Facing west as the sun sets is like nothing else I've ever seen.
